'Black Panther' Now Tracking for Massive $165M U.S. Debut

The forecast keeps getting better and better for Disney and Marvel Studios' Black Panther, which opens Friday in North America.

Hollywood's leading tracking service NRG on Monday revised its opening weekend estimate to $165 million or more for the four-day Presidents Day weekend — which if it holds would be the top February launch of all time — according to sources with access to tracking.

When Black Panther first came on tracking two weeks ago, NRG forecast a domestic opening of $125 million. By last week, that number had shot up to $150 million-plus.

Directed by Ryan Coogler, Black Panther is unprecedented in being a big-budget studio tentpole featuring a virtually all-black cast. In the film, Chadwick Boseman stars as T'Challa/Black Panther alongside Lupita Nyong'o, Michael B. Jordan, Daniel Kaluuya, Letitia Wright, Winston Duke, Angela Bassett, Forest Whitaker and Andy Serkis.

If NRG is right, Black Panther could potentially notch one of the top five or six domestic openings ever for a superhero film, not accounting for inflation. Of course, tracking often misses the mark. Either way, the pic appears headed for greatness in North America.

The big unknown is how Black Panther will fare overseas, where Hollywood films with a black cast are perceived to face challenges. Disney insiders expect Black Panther to open in the $75 million-$115 million range. The tentpole rolls out in about 70 percent of the international marketplace this week; major territories where it doesn't open until later include Russia (Feb. 22), Japan (March 1) and China (March 9).

The critically acclaimed movie currently boasts a stellar 97 percent score on Rotten Tomatoes, the best of any title in the Marvel Cinematic Universe

It's going to fail big because of how alienating it's cast, crew, marketing, and "fans" have been to anyone that isn't black. Instead of making a superhero movie, we get a virtue signaling movie about black power without the irony of blacksplotation. With the most ridiculous premise of any superhero movie in decades.

Especially with this fact in mind is why it's gonna bomb internationally. Especially in the Chinese market. They don't mind black people. But they hate ugly blacks enough to pull movies out of their theaters completely.

Why are amer*cans so obsessed with the mongrel descendants of their slaves?

Muy bueno.

They'd probably fuck it up.

True, but at least it wouldn't be another rehash of Batman and Superman.

It's DC. You know for a fuck they'll fuck it up. Why would anything on their current track record give you hope?

lol ok

My only hope is of American media breaking out of the cannibalistic rut it's in. Taking chances on riskier properties is a sign of potential growth.

It's still in a rut as long as the cape bubble is around.

I imagine that we will have another TLJ in our hands. The movie might make enough money in its first weekends, but drop hard. TLJ was so shitty that it ended up being beaten by Jumanji of all things (though it helps Jumanji is a genuinely good movie). Imagine the timeline we live in… We lived to see Star Wars being beaten by another movie.

Only shows how scared Marvel is so they are spending extra on marketing and hype. It`s not going to fail because of all the race baiting, it`s going to fail because it`s a bad movie.

I can't wait for the buyer's remorse to set in after. I can already imagine the reddit threads of angry faggots saying that they bought 50 tickets intending to see it over and over again to fight white supremacy, or some dumb shit, but they were so let down after the first viewing that they couldn't bring themselves to see it again. Because, let's be honest here, they're pulling a nuGhostbusters with this one. The bits of footage they've shown have been lots of cartoony CGI, and everything else on their press blitz has been hyper politicized bullshit. Actors bragging about being illegal immigrants, ranting about Trump during interviews, really heavily pushing the mostly black cast.. But how much are they talking about the plot? The characters? The shit that's actually in the movie? Oh hey! Look! Disney bought a bunch of cheap halloween costumes for these kids for some morning news show! Obviously this movie is going to be the best thing ever!!

Same shit happened with nuGhostbusters. They released a couple clips. It looked like shit. So they immediately switched gears to crying about harassment, racism, sexism, and all the usual shit. They even drummed up a fake controversy about review bombing so Rotten Tomatoes could take preemptive action to fluff the tomatometer score.

I don't care if this movie smashes records. I want this movie to suck so bad that you will be able to immediately tell which people are eternally full of shit by their opinion of this movie.

Was this before or after they deleted all the negative reviews?

I never imagined a mediocre Marvel film would be so delicious.

...

It amazes me how much they are backing on this film. I have never seen this much guerrilla marketing for a film in my life.
Are niggers really that profitable?

Only movie targeting a large minority in a cool way. Rotten Tomatoes of 97%. Yeah I'm sure it's aaaaall about the quality here…

jk still gonna watch it.

They're certainly good material for journalism. They aren't a valuable demographic for anything good, but when it comes to the MSM, niggers are a goldmine for feelings of injustice and white guilt and savior complexes.

Proof. Now.

Easy to get that high of a score when the numbers are fudged because blacks are thin-skinned halfwits who will burn their cities down if you don't kiss their ass.

No thats not it. You fake a high score because it's a huge audience that's easy to fool.
I mean, look at all those black retards who voted for fucking Trump because they believed his lies, even though the proof how racist he is was basically shoved in their faces.

Citation needed. They certainly don't like them actually being in China.

Archive next time faggot.

They like Will Smith.

Jumanji was alright but it didn't have any of the magic the first movie had.

Chinese confirmed for having shitty taste in movies.

But that's the brillance. If it succeeds, they say the audience wants Diversity. If it underwhelms, Marvel and Co. can just play the Waycist Card and insist we need more Diversity. Either way, they can use the movie's reception to push forward Diversity.

I myself don't expect it to be another Wonder Woman since a movie filled with Niggers doesn't sell such outside of America.

Hey leftypol/intel/reddit.

It's just leftypol/intel/reddit.

I mean Black Panther is a good character, and I like him, but I am going to guesstimate that here in Japan it is not going to be full theaters.

...

Marvel kikes better hope domestic is good because niggers don't sell in china

...

Black Panther is a cookie cutter Marvel origin story.
People are not being sold a product anymore, they are being sold a story, an ideology, a tribe. In this instance; 'this movie is revolutionary for blacks and people who hate it are racist'. It is the exact same story that was pushed with ghostbusters; 'this movie is revolutionary for women and people who hate it are sexist'.
Except currently they (Disney) have way more control over rigging it than they ever did before. Rotten Tomatoes says they're going to monitor social media for bandwagoning, to prevent negative reviews, which basically gives them justification to remove any negative reviews they like.
Also this shit

When will burgers stop obsessing over race so much? I couldn't care any less about actors' races, just give me a good movie.

Stop shitstirring, faggot.

They're not doing this solely for profit. They're doing this to set the future movies tone. Phase 3 is almost ending and Disney is itching to use the "diverse" and "empowered" cast of CY Marvel characters, like Ms. ISIS, Spider-Spic and Iron Tanisha, and Black Panther is the way they'll measure the public's reception to a "diverse" superhero.

I kind of agree. I'm starting to notice this trend in movies where they essentially remake the original. While the remake is ok it doesn't have the heart of the original.

Aren't most of those in the comics only? I don't think they put Kamala in the MCU yet.

They are. And they're experimenting with Black Panther to lay ground for them to come on a hypotetical phase 4.

I get the sense they're making Black Panther now, just because they feel like they have to at this point. If they go much longer without doing "a black one", they're going to start accumulating bad press. Same reason we're just now getting the Black Widow movie. They have to toss one out at this point, to keep the hordes at bay.
They also seem to know they're going to struggle to make money with this movie, especially internationally, and I have no doubt an inproportionate amount of the budget is being spent on marketing. The CGI looks especially ass for one of these movies.

A normal person would say "people have shit taste" and move on.

But no, this film has niggers.

Current incarnation of Ms. Marvel can't be introduced until they work out the movie version of Carol Manvers/Captain Marvel… and then, they'd have to unfuck the Inhumans, which already bombed so hard that they are currently pretending it never existed. Also, I forget which, but one of the executives in Disney fucking hates the Inhumans and went out of his way to sabotage the whole project, demoting it from a movie to a streaming-only miniseries.

Even if they put all of that aside, it's going to be somewhat awkward to introduce Captain Marvel and then follow it up with Ms Marvel, starring a muslim teenager who idolizes the woman who was in one movie that's probably going to suck, and wanted to take up the title she never had.

You're not fooling anybody here.

If they're going to make Manvers without Mar-Vell, then they can make Ms. Muslim without Manvers.

A fair point. No reason they couldn't just hamfist together some halfassed plot-device.

>>>Holla Forums

it's getting over-hyped to the point that it an't possibly live up to it. I'm still gonna see it, but only to judge it on its own merits. fuck the virtue signaling hype train bullshit.

I told someone today that I wasn't going to see it and they acted really surprised. I'm just sick of Disney's bullshit and I want no part in it. Any sliver of interest I had in the movie is long gone anyways.

Fuck off nigger

You don't belong here

You got it backwards, said executive was Ike Perlmutter that actually loved the Inhumans and wanted to make a movie out of them, but Kevin Feige didn't want to and made Marvel Studios independent from the greater Marvel Entertainment and therefore, the Inhumans were left for the tv division which Perlmutter still owned.

Oy vey.

It must hurt to know things didn't go the way you wanted.

I don't even care about the movie. I'm probably not going to even see it. My only investment is to lick the salt off your frustrated hides after months of you guys constantly coming onto this board purely to bitch about niggers.

Why would anyone be salty because you're acting like a tumblrtard?
It just makes you look like a retard, so everyone else will label you as such.

You don't belong here

Filtered.

That’s pretty low for a marvel movie

Mexicans are not progressive enough.

Its pretty fucky that marvel expects you to watch like 1200 movies and tv shows so you can keep current with their overarching 'MCU' plotline
I think the last one I watched was gotg 2 and it was kinda underwhelming

I think our predictions of it being "the first MCU bomb" were far too premature. That Marvel logo is still a licence to print money… but then again, people said that about Star Wars, too. TLJ wasn't a bomb, but it's where the cracks have started to show. Solo looks like it's going to crash hard, but that's likely due to it being shit all on it's own, rather than a sign of the brand being irretrevably tranished. Star Wars might still be saved if Ep.9 pulls something incredible out of the hat… I doubt it will, though.
I reckon Black Panther will be the MCU's TFA. Everybody will come out from the first viewing praising it to the heavens, while nervously looking around waiting for somebody else to say "meh, it wasn't all that", then the floodgates will open. Infinity war could go either way at this point, but it's certainly got a hell of a budget to make back. I think both Robert Downey JR and Chris Evans are tired of this shit, you could probably make a reasonable superhero B flick on what they are being paid alone.

Oh I dunno. While Holla Forums have their heads in the clouds if they think DOTR is coming any time soon, Normies are getting heartily sick of everything having to be political. I can certainly see some of them just explaining "I'm bored of superheroes, in all honesty".

Indeed, I doubt there's going to be that many bad "official" reviews, given what happened to the first guy to give it a non-perfect score (it was hardly a 'bad' review). That said, more than a few youtubers made hay with the score drop being blamed on Trump, even though that bad review was in an Irish paper.

That was one of the reasons given for pulling TLJ. They don't want movies with ugly people. Also it apparently insulted the auduence's intelligence (this was no doubt a reference to them casting a Vietnamese to try and "appeal to China". Somebody's obviously not heard of the other Vietnam war)

Indeed, did you see what beat TLJ? It was the third in a series of Dude, Where's my Car-tier comedies. That shit doesn't even get a theatrical release in most countries. Maybe India.

I'd actually be more interested in a Black Widow flick, like a gender-switched Bond film (before they gender-switch the actual Bond) with superhero and light sci-fi elements. Also her and Hawkeye have got to be on the chopping block, they're unpowered secret agents running around in the midst of fights between gods, they can't stay lucky forever. I honestly thought Hawkeye was going to kick the bucket in Avengers 2, after they showed so much of his home life.

Are you me? Mind you, there was stuff I wanted to see, but I was broke for pretty much the whole of 2017. Wonder Woman ought to he hitting the 998円 rack at Family Mart soon…
BP might be the first time I go to the cinema in Japan, wouldn't otherwise be my first choice.

Oh look, "hey Holla Forums" learned a new catchphrase.

You don't belong here

What the fuck even is this post? Fucking make a blog

Ain't no nigga got that kind'a money

Isn't he just a black Batman?

Found the newfag.

Nah, Batman doesn't have a coup d'etat happen every time he leaves the cave.

Yeah it does seem like Wakanda goes through cycles of blaxpoitation and complete destruction. Gotta be frustrating.

Watching a couple reviews and something struck me, did they rip off the primary villain dynamic from Doom 2099
Michael B Jordan = Tiger Wylde?

When can we expect Marvel to greenlight an all-black team-up flick in the style of Avengers? any bets?

Why couldn't they make this into movie?

Because we cannot have good things.

Damn this looks hilarious.

…source user? I NEED more of this!

Glad to see you like it anons. The comic is The Boys, by Garth Ennis. :^)

There's serious fuckery going on here.

Serious fuckery?
In Hollywood?
What are the odds?

Why does it even matter?
Whether it succeeds or fails it's still just another mediocre piece of shit Marvel movie that everyone will forget in two weeks.

Why are you here then?

are they even attempting to justify these outlandish predictions? Or are they just trying and failing to meme their own success?

Well, opening on President's Day weekend against literally nothing else of note (except Aardman's new movie which will be sadly ignored) was probably the only smart thing they did with this movie. That's probably going to bump up its overall box office number.

Of course, it doesn't hurt to remember that box office is screwy, at best. Some of it is literally pulled out of their ass. It rarely ever accounts for differences in ticket prices. Doesn't account for the cut the theaters take. Total production values conveniently leave out all PR, marketing, merchandising, and other miscellaneous costs.

Also, from the looks of it, China does have some big movies coming out soon, so any hope for the biggest movie market in the world to recoup costs are quite low. At best, they'll break even, but that's not going to be good enough. It's a superhero movie that's almost entirely lacking in action scenes. It's all about the politics and family drama of a shitty mary sue equivalent fantasy nation, and how great ethnostates are. It's a fucking mess and it's going to bore the everloving shit out of normalfags who want to see the cool black guy do cool superhero stuff.

So did anyone see it? What was the Stan cameo?

I do think they're trying to meme this into a runaway success. This whole "It's going to make X amount of dollars" before it even hits the theaters? I have a background in marketing and advertising, and I know a sales pitch when I hear one. That's what this is.

"HAY GUIZE THIS MOVIE IS GOING TO MAKE SOOOOOO MUCH MONEY! WHAT? YOU'RE NOT GOING TO SEE IT? DON'T YOU WANT TO BE ONE OF THOSE COOL PEOPLE WE'RE PROJECTING WILL SEE IT?"

I find this fascinating because there's no way in hell they pre-sold enough tickets to justify this kind of opening prediction.

jesus christ say something about comics and cartoons

I have it on good authority from someone who saw a Thursday showing that the movie's alright. I'm told:

1. Believe it or not, it's actually not really much of a We Wuz movie even with all the Nigger worship (ala saying Whitey learned science from Wakanda in one troll post).

2. There are jokes made to mock Whites, but they're light. The one White sidekick to T'Challa is treated as a worthy ally.

3. T'Challa's actually a decently writtten protagonist.

Right, because even a "light" joke about a black said by a white would get a pass in today's world. They can either shut the fuck up with the race card in any circumstance or make it ALL acceptable.

So typical trash nigger movie eh?

...

Everything I've heard makes me think that T'Challa is a fucking idiot, his Sister/tech sidekick is obnoxious, and whoever Michael B Jordan is playing is possibly one of the worst villain/foils in a MCU movie to date.

OH MY GOD MY SIDES!

Shit, it's like the black version of us

Well it's Michael B Jordan. What did you expect?
Worst Michael Jordan

I opened it and expected so much worse based on the first 5 seconds.. but by the 1 minute mark, I was won over.

Dude raises a good point. Where was all this hype for Luke Cage? For Blade? Hell, even for fucking Steel which had Shaq in it when Shaq was at his height? Because it's set in Africa?

Don't SJWs hate Black Panther because there wasn't enough dykes and trannies in the movie?

I think Wakanda is the deciding factor here. Blade didn't make an issue of race at all. Luke Cage had a 3 black villains, all of whom were trying to tear apart the kind of shitty neighborhood lots of blacks already live in… But Wakanda, as a setting, is pure black wankery. It's more advanced, more noble, more intelligent, more powerful, more dangerous, etc etc etc… just plain better than every other nation, specifically the white ones. On top of that, they used their "betterness" to stop the white man from messing up their perfect utopian kingdom, that somehow has the best technology in the world, but still uses tribalistic politics to sort of disputes … by fighting with spears and shields.

Black Panther only matters to them as a character because he's got everything the other superheroes have, only he's better than they are in every way, plus he's a King, a trillionaire, a super important politician, etc, etc. Wakanda, though, is every WE WUZ historical revisionist fantasy brought to life, complete with stronk independent womyn soldiers, and technology so advanced that it may as well be magic compared to the shit whitey has.

To find out why it matters.
I'm seeing faggots shit up every site I go to over this and for the life of me I can't figure out why people are acting like it's gonna change life itself.
I know some of it is shills, but the ones that genuinely see this as some kind of noteworthy moment in history are the ones that baffle me.

Hes the nigger ripoff of doom.

No journalistic bias here

It already happening

Ha, no. In social justice circles, black trumps everything else. Black activists hold the position that blacks have suffered the most, and thus deserve all of the attention. They think that any focus on the evils other minorities endured detracts from victimhood of blacks. Thus, in the intersectional social justice sphere, black activists are very quick to assert their dominance in the oppression olympics.

It's the reason why you have Black Lives Matter basically taking over Pride Parades and communities adding black and brown to the gay rainbow flag. All other minorities are forced to remember that their suffering is far less than black suffering.

I'm gonna be the guy that isn't salty and guess it's a "ha ha Yankees are so silly" type of jokes, like something you see in a foreign show or anime.

user why do you hate Blue Beetle so much, what did he do to you?

That is not necessarily always true. It is what you see more frequently, sure, but different social justice circles have different tier lists and different priorities. It's part of the reason why their stupid ideologies never get anywhere. Too much infighting in the oppression Olympics.
Blacks do like to hijack fucking everything they can for their cause when spineless dumbasses let them though, like the black and brown in the rainbow flag you mentioned, but also black feminism which has even less to do with equality and women's rights than regular feminism does.

It'd be funny to see BLM try that on Native Americans. Boy would they get their asses beat.

...

Support REAL African cinema.

By numbers the negroes have the squaws beat.

2016 MAWEAAAA

Yeah but the Natives can get pretty vicious. That and they can actually aim and shoot properly unlike the nogs.

Spot the nigger

Wrong. It's because this film is drummed up to be the best thing ever on the wrong merits. Manufactued scores, media drama, and falsely claiming this is the first of anything when there have been good movies with black protagonists and antagonists for a good while now.
It is a piece of capeshit media that is being marketed as some long lost folk-tale or epic that is breaking new ground. It serves nothing else but to massively inflate a certain demographics ego, play on their insecurities all the while and to get them to buy more shit.

Take the race aspect out of it, and you can see how fucking manipulative all of this is. You would realize this if you weren't being intravenously fed kool-aid infused with soylent every fucking day. The funny thing is that you are probably against stereotyping and whatever else, but you are refusing to see the people here as anything less than evil gnadzees just because they think a movie sucks, and letting your prejudices guide your behaviour. Just kill yourself already you waste of space.

He is alright save a few moments of stupid but a bit bland. He's mostly there to look cool during action scenes because as far as character goes, he barely has any besides "muh dad".

Pretty much every single female in this movie is annoyingly obnoxious with girl power turned up to 11. It got so bad that by the midway point of the film, I wanted all of those bitches to die in prolonged agony and I've rarely experienced that. It's also ridiculous how much shit they survive that should kill them but I guess Marvel realized that the sheboons in the audience would raise a shitfit if any of those nigger shrews died.

He is. Killmonger somehow managed surpass Malekith and Aldrich Killian in shit-tier-villainy. I think the only MCU antagonist worse than him might be Whiplash and that's only because Whiplash was basically a plot device.

Movie also has quite a few moments of "let's shit on whitey" though they do try and cover it up by making Killmonger into a black supremacist but T'Challa lowkey agrees with him in the end anyway.

I'm seeing some murmurring coming from social media sites that niggers are actually sympathetic with Killmonger. The guy who got raised in a shitty black ghetto and became a murderous thug.. of course they sympathize with the guy that's supposed to be the villain and wants to destroy Wakandan civilization in the name of muh diaspora because he wants to take over the world.

Anybody else a little confused on how a movie pandering to 12% of America made money?
Sure there's guilted white people but that shouldn't have accounted for that much?

White guilt. Also, we don't know the box office totals yet. I doubt it's going to do much better than some of the lesser MCU movies.

There can't be that many white guilt folk still.

Right?

There's also faggots who have to see every one of these shitty films for mah continuity. Franchise is dying, can't end fast enough.

You'd have to be pretty delusional to believe that at all.

I don't even know where to begin with this.

So are you b8ing or have you somehow missed the entire marketing campaign behind this movie?

You're operating from the position that people won't watch a superhero action movie because it panders to niggers.

Have you heard of Shaft? Blade? Bad Boys? Bad Boys 2? Django Unchained? The entire career of Samuel L. Jackson? Maybe your time on the chans has sheltered you a little too much.

I know wakanda has nothing to do with hip hop but I'm pissed the OST isn't some sweet hip hop. I'd take SHARP LIKE AN EDGE OF A SAMURAI SWORD over generic marvel orchestra and this shit any day even if it doesn't fit.
For the black power shit and whatnot.

I was actually the opposite, it feels like everything featuring niggers front-and-center nowadays has hip-hop and rap in it, so the fact that they went with a proper soundtrack was a nice change. They still got a few songs in there but they felt super-jarring with the rest of the film. That being said I was kinda weirdly disappointed when they didn't have Gangster's Paradise playing for Killmonger at least once. It would've been super-fitting with his character and overall theme.

Also, I'm REALLY starting to get pissed off with a lack of good-looking actresses for female leads nowadays. This movie was probably the worst offender I've seen in a while but the trend is rage-inducing. The last hot chick in a superhero movie I've seen so far was Scarlett Johansson back in Iron Man 2.

Just going to jog your memory: How many of these early reviews and thinkpiece editorials talked about the actual movie? Like the plot, the characters, the history behind them, their motivations? It's not very many of them. The movie has minimal action scenes and set pieces. It's more like a shitty political drama with lots of walking and talking.

They see a trailer for Black Panther on TV or in their facebook feed or the rotten tomatoes score and go "Looks fun, I might see it."

Basically, you're sounding crazy because you're implying there's a massive conspiracy surrounding this movie, to which I say "Stop pussy-footing around and commit to the crazy".

You're one step removed from being an enlightened centrist meme. Just because you don't pay attention to what's going on with the news and all of social media doesn't mean that no one else does either.

And just because you're neck deep in idpol doesn't mean everyone else is too.

You're saying that the popularity is fake, that white people would never watch this movie, and everyone, from the theaters to the reviewers, are all in on it. So either you're wrong, that the movie is actually popular and people are watching it, or it's an absolutely massive conspiracy to fabricate the success of a movie.

If I'm one step away from being an "enlightened centrist meme", then you're one step away from becoming a full blown conspiratard.

You would think you'd have learn not to use the single biggest Holla Forums shibboleth by now, but nope, you faggots always do it.

SHALOM SHLOMO

Flick. It's a flick. If that.

What if he's not trying to hide?

No, I'm operating from the position that they've been hyping this movie up as some huge black empowerment event for the past 4 months.
Your desire to be a condescending fuck has clouded your perception user.
Hope it's worth looking like a retarded faggot so you can feel superior to strangers on the internet.

Why did you reply in the first place? I wasn't talking to your dumbass, I was talking to the retards who were baffled that nigger movies make money.

Maybe you should go back to special school so they can teach you reading before you come on imageboards, you autistic ass sniffer.

How else is he supposed to be a condescending fuck who feels superior to strangers on the internet?

Given the fact that the movie is already out and no one even wants to talk about its actual narrative content, but the predominant conversation across every social media platform and news site is about the black empowerment and "fighting racism" meme, there's no conspiracy to be found. This is reality. They built the movie up as being symbolically valuable, instead of having any entertainment value. It's a movie people are celebrating and losing their shit over because they think the gesture of handing black people a movie is more important than whether or not the movie is good.

Welcome to the world of over-hyped Hollywood block-busters. Maybe you should've been with us when The Dark Knight came out, it was fun. I'm still waiting for an objective review to come out of that mess.

Is the cam rip out yet?

Because you replied to me, condescending retard.

It was definetly a top five Marvel movie, whatever that's worth.

I wonder how actual Africans would react to the African Americans.

They tend to think of them as rude lazy niggers.

They're typically not very fond of burger niggers.
Africans are already not terribly fond of one another in general, and regularly genocide each other.
Burger groids would most likely just be seen as another tribe that needs genociding.

Based on some testimonials from black Americans who decide to repatriate, Africans don't like them and make sure to remind them that they aren't 'real' Africans.

Some college "African Student Union" and similar groups have gotten pissed at minority and affirmative action admissions because they unfairly favor actual Africans, from Africa, who actually come from impoverished nations and who had to work hard their entire lives to even make it to America. They're coming to American colleges and outperforming 'African Americans' by a massive margin and it's making them look bad.

Yeah but we got Wolfbatman out of it

Superior PANTHER

YMS's review was pretty decent. Jewtube and all that, but…

What're you bitching about? We all complained about the trailers having shitty rap and hip-hop crap in it, and your embed related is what it really was, and you're complaining?
It sounds like African music. It's definitely nothing like usual generic Marvel crap. It'd be far more generic to have shitty hip-hop.

...

And they don't even remember meteorman or the other black fucking superhero movies that already exist.

So, I watched the Black Panther movie last night. Here's my thoughts:

It's fun. Not terrible, but not great either. It's just an enjoyable film.

The acting in the first half feels stilted and the film doesn't really hit it's groove until Klaw and Killmonger are introduced.

The CGI is bad. From the ships to the rhinos, it feels like no effort was made to get them to look realistic. If this is a cost cutting measure, then I think Marvel films are going to collapse.

Wakanda's technology was more advanced than the tech I saw in Guardians of the Galaxy. I really started to question if there was some alien space craft or a Fing Fang Foom in Wakanda's massive vibranium mines that would explain that discrepancy.

The attempts at humor fail more than they succeed.

All of the characters are entertaining, except T'Challa. I don't think Marvel has a bead on his personality yet.

Man-Ape is the fucking greatest, had more screen-time than I expected, and every single scene he's in is automatically the best scene.

T'Challa's tech-wiz sister was annoying and had a terrible meme reference in the beginning part of the film, but by the end, she became my favorite character (outside of Man-Ape). The way she gets excited to explain all her technology to Bilbo Baggins is endearing.

Andy Serkis was clearly having a ball playing Klaw. He's funny, slimy, and is completely correct when he calls Wakandians "savages". The interaction between him and Michal B Jordan as Killgore is great. Which makes it all the more brutal when Killgore murders Klaw to advance his plans.

The film subtly implies a vast gulf between African niggers and American niggers. When Bilbo gets shot and T'Challa insists that they take him to Wakanda to save his life, everyone's concern isn't that he's white but that he's a foreign agent. Contrast that with the American born Killmonger who openly accuses a white woman's ancestors of theft, points out that he's killed blacks when listing off all the countries he killed in, and wants to give niggers everywhere Wakandan technology so they can "come out on top".

Wakanda wasn't the mary sue nigger country I was expecting. In fact, a lot of the conflict in the movie is caused by Wakanda's isolationist ways and traditionalist values. Also, you have to be pretty messed up as a country when your previous king kills his brother and chooses to abandon his nephew in the Oakland all to keep Wakanda a secret.

There were no other Marvel heroes in the film, so that's a plus.

I give it a 6 - 7 out of 10. There were parts I liked and parts I didn't like. It was your average Marvel movie.

The nature of the internet requires that we push back as hard as idiots push on us, so Black Panther being the greatest movie ever made because it has lots of African-esque stuff in it and half-assed social commentary, means it has to regarded as awful tripe not worth your time to see at all.

The reality is that it's okay, and that doesn't surprise me. Journos and critics exaggerate everything badly and.. well.. niggers are overly excitable and prone to overstating the importance or weight of something whenever they are given the chance to voice their opinion on everything. which means a 5/10 movie can't just be okay with being average. Disney absolutely would not allow that, for one. An average movie doesn't look good to their investors or executives.

If we were being reasonable, the best this movie should get is a minor following from the few people who genuinely liked it, acknowledge it was flawed, and wished it could have been a little better if they added in a couple scenes or changed up some minor problems.

Winter Soldier

That was a stinger. I don't count it.

...

...

Nazis even suck at their propaganda. They post such things and still have a completely obvious username.

Shit like this makes me feel like such a fucking stranger in this day and age.

We mocked the lefties for pulling this shit after Trump's election…

They don't, you moron. It's fake.

That one is fake, but this is a common fucking thing you see all over t he place. Yeah some argue that it's for documentation if they ever want to Legal Up but you see bastards tossing it up on facebook and twitter all the time.

...

Black twitter is really easy to influence. I think it's a troll trying to normalize doing things like that, so they can laugh at some actual beatings.

Look at the twitter name, I think is obvious that is someone shitposting

3-day domestic - $192M
Worldwide gross so far - $361M
Sauce: some Pajeet box office analyst on Twatter

lol ok

Didn't quite work outside America, did it?

It's pretty funny seeing you morons chimp out over a superhero movie once again, that's why I lurk here.

No shit it's popular, both whites and blacks dug the aesthetic, and seeing as suburbanites and citydwellers are seeing it en masse, it's doing well. You fags must be on something to be this stupid. Any chance you've been chewing on Datura lately? That would explain your delusions quite well.

It's mediocre at best, but go ahead and keep pretending that it's amazing that retards are rewarding a shitty studio for making another half-assed, bloated hollywood movie.

It was alright as far as Marvel movies go, and even then I probably like Marvel films more than most people on Holla Forums. The only ones I think are legitimately shit are Spider-Man: Homecoming and Thor: Ragnarok.
They took a lot of beats from Panther's Rage, which was good, and some stuff from Christopher Priest's run, but not enough, because instead of being a yandere-tier stalker who wants T'Challa to put his dick in her underaged vagina, Nakia is now a "sensible" and honest warrior for justice or some shit.
Man-Ape was by far the best part of the film. I'd say that it's a decent enough film if this is the only one they're planning on doing, but we all know it isn't, and I have a hard time seeing how they're going to justify a sequel when they killed his two biggest villains and turned his third into an ally. By far the biggest mistake of the film was killing Klaw.

The left foot's bothering me. It looks off.

are there any actual numbers yet?

From Box Office Mojo:

$201,797,000 - opening weekend

$235,000,000 - current domestic gross

$184,596,285 - current international gross

$419,596,285 - total worldwide gross

Well at least black panther will be in Infinity War, where he'll get to actually superhero for more than ten minutes.
Claw was the best thing about the film for how few fucks he gave at any given moment. Dude just loved his job.

...

That scene was fucking hilarious and Man-Ape is the fucking greatest.

Go back to cuckchan nigger

Everything with M'Baku was fun. I hope he gets his gorilla hat in the sequel.

They won't do it because they don't wanna be seen as racist. This mask is the closest you'll get.

You mean in the audience, or in the movie?

Yes.

You're the guy who gets always fucked in the ass by your nazifaggot friends, right?

Hi nigger
>>>Holla Forums

Disgusting negroidling.

Wow, the Captain America broadway show was a lot more topical than I expected.

...

Daily reminder that Wakanda is not real and it will never be.

Of course not. Wakanda entire existence is predicated on a magic space rock granting a superking all the genius level intellect and physical abilities necessary to uplift millions of hut dwelling savages to the most technologically advanced society in human history without anyone ever noticing. The fact that niggers often ruin the societies they inhabit is just the cherry on top of the WE WUZ sundae.

B-but muh Afro-futurism!

What could have been if Yakub and his white devils did not keep us from the Wakandaian age of ultimate power.

That's a lot of autism right there.

...

They really fucked Black Panther in terms of villains with this movie. Two of his top villains (Klaw and Killmonger) are now dead, with Klaw made into a joke and Killmonger made into a BLM mouthpiece, Man-Ape is now his ally and Malice is now his legitimate girlfriend instead of an obsessive psycho.

That leaves White Wolf, who is not even really a bad guy most of the time and Achebe, the crazy shaman dude.

Sounds like a perfect opportunity to have him fight his one, true villain: the evil White Man.

They probably didn't think it would warrant a sequel.

I'm assuming they'll just do the same shit they do with every "sequel" now and have it be a crossover extravaganza so none of the character's villains will matter.

This was the first Marvel movie I actually regretted spending money on. The first HOUR of the movie is jacking off to the sci-fi technology and culture of Wakanda, without ever contextualizing it by giving me people to actually care about in Wakanda. Killmonger was actually really fun and enjoyable, but you don't get much of him in reality. Most of the movie is either the long drawn out opening, or the fucking ending action sequence which felt like I was watching a fucking Transformers movie. You realize literally ever single thing they showed earlier in the movie only existed to throw more shit into the big action climax. And the movie will remain in a special hated place for killing off TWO decent villains in one movie. Also, the fucking Black Panther suit is now retarded and overpowered as fuck. Stop turning everyone into fucking Iron Man.

That's completely standard for a villain though. He does a bad thing that you would like to do, but don't because it's a bad thing to do.

I actually really liked how normally the OST was tribal african shit, but the moment Killmonger steps on screen it switches over to rap beats on top of it everytime.

That's because we get Infinity War and the universe reboot it will cause in part 2. All dead characters will get a res, mutants will exist as a byproduct, and actors that want out of the long term contracts to do something else will get the chance to be recast.

The only time I see that actually working is with Antman since he never had much of a rogue's gallery to begin with.

Lol.

Fucking savage

Brutal

...

this is good, I like the salt mine

...

Been done before.

I would expect more a Tarzan look.

That's fucking golden.

Yeah, and?

...

Y'know, being serious for a moment, a white Black Panther could actually be a pretty interesting AU story.

Like, say, a white orphan toddler gets adopted by the king of Wakanda because he is infertile and can't have children of his own and grows up to inherit the throne and the role of the Black Panther but constantly has to wrestle with the fact that 80% of Wakanda despises him and doesn't consider him a "real" Wakandan even though he constantly does his best to assimilate and truly loves the country and its people.

Of course, you'd have to first convince Marvel to grow the balls necessary to publish a story where niggers are racist towards a white guy and we all know that's not fucking happening any time soon.

Funnily enough, that would be a racial allegory that would actually be similar to how many blacks in america feel, but no one would be able to publish it without being called racist and having to cancel it.

There's already a character extremely similar to that, that Marvel of course refused to use for the movie, which Christopher Priest introduced during his great run. T'Challa has an adoptive brother who is white, a plane crashed in Wakanda with him as a baby, and his parents died, so T'Chaka took him in and raised him as his own.
He's called White Wolf and is essentially the leader of Wakanda's special forces, and is quite respected by the other Wakandans since he carries their culture and values. For the most part, I think he's a great character when used as an ally/advisor to T'Challa, but hacks decided to make him a villain instead in later years.

Didn't you watch the post-credits? They introduced White Wolf By making Bucky into him

I saw, and I do not accept it.

I laughed out loud in the theater when I saw that scene. I'd never even heard of White Wolf before, and knew exactly what they were doing. Are they just going to keep giving Bucky code names until they find one that actually fits?

Flag Smasher
It doesn't fit but it's progressive enough for Disney.

No. Stop inserting African-American politics into Africa. The contrast makes no sense because the African opinion on Americans is completely different (unless you're South African).

...

fuck him so hard

No, he doesn't deserve to be fucked hard, because that implies fun. He deserves to be violently gangraped by a gang of fat, smelly pajeets until his anus is bleeding.

Actually, he'd probably enjoy that too.

You seem to be completely misunderstanding the point of a political allegory

GIVE ME MY TRENDIES BACK!!!! REEEEEEEEEEEEE

vidlii.com/watch?v=vBXmUrjcGFy

Isn't Flagsmasher a villain though?

they can just change his name to Bordersmasher

I just saw this movie. It was good as you could expect from a Marvel movie. M'Baku is probably the funniest character in the film. It seems like a standard type of royalty story thing. Also, at some points the soundtrack starts to sound like the Lion King for some reason.

Bucky's a straight white male; villain material to Disney.

It's surprising it wasn't all Lion King.

I know right? It felt like they could've easily recreated some scenes if they wanted to. Like when Killmonger throws T'challa over the waterfall he could've said "Long live the king". That or when T'challa is in the ancestral plane they could've pulled some Mufasa ghost like thing talking to him.

So, I'm late to the party. Am I the only one here, or did anyone else feel like this: I went into this movie, open to a refreshing setting, a cool style and the mostly black cast. But then I kinda didn't bite the bait. I seriously think it's one of the worst Marvel movies by now. And here's why (if I end up to be considered racist afterwards or something - well… whatever, I guess I am then):

First, what I liked, which wasn't much…
- Claw, he was hilarious and I miss him already
- Black Panther and Warmonger each coming from different social status and the conflict was kinda deep at times. I actually cared.
- The strange costume design
- Vibranium mine extending the MCU

What I hated:
- The movie got so much hype for it's deep message and understandable villain, but it seems noone actually watched it?! Because all reviews imply that Warmonger complains that Wakanda refuses to support people in need with their futuristic technology, which is a good point. But no, he just wants the weapons and start a global call-to-arms. The technology-sharing is brought up by someone else. That's friggin idiotic and two-dimensional. Maybe they wanted to make it easier to understand who the villain is for the kids, but imo this was no movie for them. A way too massive topic for a 12 year old Youtube-consuming peabrain.
- Wakanda is a friggin nationalist state and if it's inhabitants where white, the movie would have pissed off tons of people. Their slogan is straight out of nazi Germany.
- Wakanda doesn't really learn its lesson. If Black Panther's father didn't kill Warmonger's father, nothing would have changed.
- Black Panther's like "Oh shit we can't let people to Wakanda, they take our technology for warfare." and are clearly super against immigration and want to protect their culture.
Again, if the cast was white… oh boy. But then, they offer their tech to the rest of the world. But wait, they never argue against their superiority. How are they gonna trade tech with the rest of the world but let noone to Wakanda? Isn't the rest of the world going to complain about a country that trades with them but not letting anyone in? How is the location kept secret when everyone sees where the traded tech comes from? Argh it makes no sense!
- speaking of immigration, if it turns out the refugees from Asgard end up in Wakanda and have to be integrated into their society, I'll laugh my ass off
- the CGI was godawful. Like - holy shit.
- some things were just too stupid for my suspension of disbelieve. When the warriors created something like a wall of capes (which seemed like a legit real life technique against wild animals, but I'm just guessing) and that created a laser-wall, it felt like what children see in their fantasy when they play. I was like "Yeah… you wish.", but even in-universe it was too over the top.
- man, for high culture, the "good guys" sure pondered killing people a lot.
- I felt really uneasy during the whole movie because it was this huge cultural appreciation thing with all those political messages and black empowerment, but in my mind I saw some greedy white guys who put it all together to easily grab cash from the black demographic.
- for what Civil War teased, Black Panther's fight scenes were crap
- I liked the museum scene, but all the colonial talk afterwards felt forced and having nothing to do with the conflict. Are the characters implying people are going to colonize and enslave Wakanda? A place that technologically ahead of everyone else? In 20fucking18?
- The movie didn't have the balls to add a racist president, instead added some racist remarks during a press conference, which is absolute bullshit anyway because you don't insult a country on live TV while it offers you to trade.
- I know it's stereotypical, but I expected a kickass hip hop soundtrack, especially during those chase scenes in Korea. But noooo. Disney doesn't support THAT aspect of black culture. Now that I think about it, they never showed current black culture, only the tribal Wakanda stuff.
- Ironically, I found the gorilla tribe kinda racist.
Weren't they acting like white supremacists think black people act!? Also, if they refused to support Wakanda, why did they still have tech equal to Wakanda?
- Wakanda has spray paint tags on its streets. Kinda hilarious. So their high culture sells spray paint? Do they have a class society? Do they have street gangs? Interesting.

American niggers =/= African niggers

In the film, wheather intentional or not, there's a divide between the attitudes of niggers in America vs niggers in Africa. This is subtly implied between Wakandan interactions with white people and Kilmonger interacting with white people. The Wakandan party sent to get Klaw identifies people by their nationality (American etc), and T'Challa sees Klaw as a murderer, with his ethnicity not being a factor. Even when they're debating taking Ross to Wakanda for treatment, the issue is that Ross is an American intelligence officer than anything to do with his skin color. Contrast those interactions with that of Kilmonger, who wastes no time accusing a white person's ancestors of theft and clearly places more value on the lives of blacks as indicated from his point to mention that he's killed blacks.

You'll also notice that the only instance of hip-hop is when Kilmonger takes the throne, and it distinctly creates a sense of degradation.

Honestly, my biggest problem is that Killmonger didn't do anything wrong, but they act like he's the bad guy.

He may have killed people and pulled a heist, but our "good guys" killed tons of people and destroyed millions in property without so much as a backward glance, so moral posturing is out. He legally challenged the king to a legal trial-by-combat and won fairly even after someone interfered on T'Challa's behalf and legally ascended to the throne. He was then deposed by a coup because muh feelz and some vague notion about his actions being harmful to the country even though T'Challa went and began engaging in the same behavior by trading their tech with foreign nations and revealing their power level.

That's a good point. I kept thinking that he was referring to the corrupt governments that are actually keeping Africa poor, but "muh white devils" is probably what the movie was actually driving toward.

The African ones, or others?

I was referring to the African dictatorships and drug cartels that are in a perpetual state of war with themselves and each other.

If there's one thing that's always brought up; it's a past where whitey enslaved ancestors.

I just realized something, M'baku reminds me of Brian Blessed with his performance a little bit.

All it is, is simply the push back of the masses. The porkies will continue to peddle their wears but when it comes down to it the truth will always gnaw its way into the light. The truth is that there is going to be a populace shift with whites being the minority they need a new demographic and while they are still around they have to tinker a little bit to find what sticks with these new people not that we are that different the same is with the indian market, chinese market and all of these with films. While whites are still around we'll get the "good ol totes not racist war movie" every now and then but the shift is happening.

And no Holla Forums, that's not saying White genocide is a thing, it's just an explaination on how the big boys do movies.

Amen.
