I think it's more Trump showing the Syrian regime that there are limits to what they can do regardless if the video material is fake or not. This strike hopefully prevents further escalation if Assad were to deploy more drastic measures, keeping him on a leash so he won't lash out against US interest in the future because he knows what will happen.

There won't come a war from this, though a lot of posters on here claim this will be Iraq 2.0. No this was just an airstrike that hopefully was done to prevent further US action in Syria.

It's more likely just a petty attempt to show "we mean business" by taking advantage of yet another false flag, but at this point Assad and Putin are just laughing at Trump's small dick and further strengthening their own coalition against US interests.
