You're gay ben

You're gay ben.

What features do you add to Steam?

I'd like the option to play HL3.

Allow +18 games

You have no idea how much this would change the gaming industry. More than Steam itself changed.

Paid mods

-Custom background on your profile

-Option for "search porn of this game"

-Option to not pay full price for a game but instead rent the game for 2 days for a small fraction of it's price, it it sucks, i don't rent again or never buy the full game. This is not like refunds because refunds needs you to pay the whole price and then make a claim it's not what you expect and wait like a week to get your money back

A lightweight client, something a bit like UPlay was, that basically only serves to launch games. No Big Picture, no Store, no fancy streaming capabilities. Just something that can bootstrap itself if you click the .exe of a Steam game, validate your license, launch the game and exit when you quit the game.

Have it work as transparently as possible

Also this so much, they could run a great VN and H game market in there but no gaben must keep the PC Console in a Nintendo tier safe space

The op said 'add' not, 'delete the bad stuff and make it good'

Thing is, 18+ stuff has to deal with a shitton of red tape depending on the location.

adding/removing are just labels when it boils down to it. Your post has no merit and you should feel ashamed as a human being for posting it.

I would honestly shut steam down. It's a plague upon the world.

The ability to resell games to other users.

Fuck that.

I'd remove the "Community" aspect (no profiles, badges, pictures, any of that garbage), and everyone is assigned a string of numbers as their unique account, and they will sign in using this string or an email. There is no Steam chat beyond basic "Do you want to play Game X" etc macros, and like aforementioned allow 18+ games. Games bought from Steam have a one-time authentication, and can be installed elsewhere without any strings attached. This applies to both single and multi-player games, but authentication is required to play on official game servers.

I'd sell out to EA so that the entire platform could be done away with so that the people the world over could finally enjoy Origin as a whole.

It would be a new feature in some way. An alternate version of the client. The default Steam client is good, it does a lot of shit that many people enjoy and are useful. It's just that at times I wish I could just launch games without having to launch a fat client.

Man, I'd sell out to EA as a form of sabotage so I can get a fuckton of money before watching the whole thing burn in their incompetent hands.

In that it would be plain genius.

Valve should contract you.

Fix'd.

I dont want normalfags fapping to 2D.

Increase games access so that 18+ games are allowed.

Add the option to filter/remove things like "News Feeds" that are filled with shit sites like kotaku and RPS.

Add a resell feature to games, but take a small cut of the money like a good Jew.

Game renting
Game monthly subscriptions
Premium accounts
More movies
Captcha in chat
Forced Facebook/Google+ integration
and this

Add hats for your gun in team fortress 2

adland.tv/adnews/if-grow-harriet-becomes-meme-blame-protein-world/195187592
Hire whoever worked at PR dep on protein world. They are so afraid of the crybullies

I mean steam is bending to crybullies

...

Shut down the servers and don't reimburse people for their wasted hundreds/thousands.

I add the ability to charge for player made content. I also add the ability for people to sell demo's for the same as fully featured and full priced games. I add collectible pixels to all my games and create an opt-in feature for developers to create collectible pixels for their games too. I charge the userbase to sell these on my own walled garden market. I add a mailing address and social security number requirement to this feature that dumbasses will voluntarily sign up for because it's CURRENT YEAR and millennials are too fucking retarded to say no. To make sure the useful idiots keep their accounts to keep spending their parents hard earned cash on my licenses I create some half assed mobile security app that barely works and force all logins through this phone app. This way I have the phone number of every single person in my userbase. I now have the mailing address, credit cards, debit cards, bank accounts and phone numbers of millions of people all over the world. I order pizzas every day and charge it to my userbase credit cards while I get fat and enjoy snorting crack off the asses of underaged Filipino hookers.

I never saw this. Good for them.

Sounds pretty retarded. Thank fuck you're not in charge.

Yeah, I don't know what I was thinking.

Are you seriously this mad about not having friends? Man, I can be your Steam friend if you want.

A none shit web browser for the overlay.

I'd kill DotA 2 and CSGO and replace them with a message saying '[game] will be back soon!' and after several months of no communication with the community later, I'd release DotA 3 and CS3 (not the adobe program) onto the store. None of their items carry over from the old games because they've been deleted and the games are built with an early 2000s Nexon tier level of quality because they've been outsourced to China.

Then, I watch the sparks fly.

Release it under the GPL.

...

...

So you want the Wii on PC?

On disk games.

That totally won't encourage botspam or anything.

Can't you do the same thing for steam greenlight? If it works there, you can make it work in reverse.

Steam Playtesting. You can become a playtester and have to play the same level or sequence over and over to make sure there are no bugs. You get paid 10 cents for every 10 working hours (75% of your salary goes to Valve).

You mean you get paid 10 steamcents right, fellow G*d's Chosen? Not actual real pennies?

Yes, Steam good boy pennies, of course. What did the goyim expect, valuable pressed metal?

Of course he meant steambux! Oy vey, how could you suggest we write checks to give real money away?

There does need to be a way to get scam shit off the store but your idea, if sincere, is prone to abuse and outright authoritative. A game like Hatred would have never made it onto steam under this design, regardless of your own personal opinion on the game quality just because of spamvoting socjus puppets. Then of course a game like Gone Home would have still made it through because Valve would obviously intervene as they don't want to seem sexist or homophobic or logical.

...

WEW

Anyone has other ideas?

whats there to add? its pretty much perfect. sure theres a lot of garbage games coming out but thats hardly the fault of steam

Make steam machines double as rice cookers

death

Really should be something like his attempts at paid mods and shit.

why is this not a thing by default?

None.

I simply take the massive amount of money idiots keep giving me through Steam and use it to fund good quality vidya (preferably not made by Valve only published by them).

Think of it as a pleb tax.

Call all users faggots, shut down steam and valve, and run with the money.

The intelligence of the average Holla Forumsirgin, everyone.

That wont stop the problems from paid mods from appearing. As long as paid mods are a thing, it'll be a race to the bottom.

Also, 93% revenue split is too high. At that point Steam will end up losing money from transaction fees.

To be fair there's fucking centuries of argument on how real or not maths is as a field.

There still isn't a satisfactory answer either.

Though what that user meant was you could conceivably remove some things from a product while improving it in general and most would consider that adding to it.

Instant messenger (Telegram, skype, kik, teamspeak) ingratiation with the steam client, 18+ games and a move to opensource the steam client.

I would remove all of the DRM.

I'd add more of that virtual slot machine shit even outside video games.

I add a benis

+ and - are the same operation, shitlord.

...

Nothing, I continue to increase my diet and lead a fat but happy life and chuckle as I remember that is no such thing as half life 3.

Better yet, just overhaul the news feed section. Add a fuckton of websites as supported - which would not take long seeing as it's just an RSS reader - and then allow people to filter it by which websites they want to see.

This is the first thing I'd do, along with removing the spying features. If that's what VAC needs to do to stop cheaters, I'd rather have the cheaters.

Suck dick like my uncle Gubsy

Free software isn't communism, but it's not capitalism either.

With all the retarded redditors steam has brought maybe all the good games would get removed and all the ironically bad low effort games would stay

GUBGUBGUBGUBGUBGUBGUBGUBGUBGUBGUBGUBGUBGUBGUBGUBGUBGUBGUBGUBGUBGUBGUBGUBGUBGUBGUBGUBGUBGUBGUBGUBGUBGUBGUBGUBGUBGUBGUBGUBGUBGUBGUBGUBGUBGUBGUBGUBGUBGUBGUBGUBGUBGUBGUBGUBGUBGUBGUBGUBGUBGUBGUBGUBGUBGUBGUBGUBGUBGUBGUBGUBGUBGUBGUBGUBGUBGUBGUBGUBGUBGUBGUBGUBGUBGUBGUBGUBGUBGUBGUBGUBGUBGUBGUBGUBGUBGUBGUBGUBGUBGUBGUBGUBGUBGUBGUBGUBGUBGUBGUBGUBGUBGUBGUBGUBGUBGUBGUBGUBGUBGUBGUBGUBGUBGUBGUBGUBGUBGUBGUBGUBGUBGUBGUBGUBGUBGUBGUBGUBGUBGUBGUBGUBGUBGUBGUBGUBGUBGUBGUBGUBGUBGUBGUBGUBGUBGUBGUBGUBGUBGUBGUBGUBGUBGUBGUBGUBGUBGUBGUBGUBGUBGUBGUBGUBGUBGUBGUBGUBGUBGUBGUBGUBGUBGUBGUBGUBGUBGUBGUBGUBGUBGUBGUBGUB

you get off easy this time, op

I'd put a GIANT swastika on the back of the Steam store and make ALL games have a free five hour demo period {one time per game mind you} during which you can play the full game, after five hours you have to buy it or are locked out.

I'd also force all game prices to be rounded to the nearest 25 cent interval so publishers can't pull that "#.99" shit.

Remove Greenlight then slowly working on adding it back in, this time without the poz.

Put Half Life 3 on the store, but don't accept pre orders, just say "coming soon". Leave it up for a few years then take it down.

Add an option to NOT display Steam achievement popups ingame while keeping the Steam overlay enabled.

Better VoIP.

Games with DLC will have a big message warning users, so for example if you went to the Europa Universalis 4 store page you'd see, near the "add to cart" button, "THIS GAME MAY REQUIRE UP TO $244 OF DLC FOR THE FULL EXPERIENCE".

Shit like that.

We need to do something to return psychical copies of PC games to the stores.

I'm so tired of this fat jew.

Those died because of shitty service. Poor selection, PC games shoved into a tiny back corner or not even on the shelves, consoletrash featured prominently everywhere. So PC gamers migrated to digital distribution.

Just delete every game I think is shit and offer no recompense or justification

I'd make it so when you buy games, you actually own them as opposed to a permanent rental. (i.e you can copy your game's files on a drive and play them somewhere else without needing to install steam, or something like that)

I would sell Steam and retire. Then I would shitpost on Holla Forums and life would be great. I would then lose a shitload of weight because being that fat must really suck.

Keeping it and making it better would require effort, and fuck effort.

Steam would probably be bought by Microsoft and completely destroyed, but I wouldn't care because money.

Renting

All games must have a free playable demo

No Greenlight

New accounts get all Valve games pre Half-Life 2 free. A nice incentive for signing up, plus it's stupid to have to pay for 15 year old games like HL1, CS 1.6, and Day of Defeat when your company has made all the money they can from them over last decade in a half.

Easier mod integration. Also no paid mods.

Two week window for refunds, and remove the play time limit for refunds. If devs complain about too many people refunding their game after they beat it, tough shit, make a longer harder game then.

Integrated steamworks for all multiplayer games.

All games with outside DRM (Uplay, Rockstar Social Club) must remove it. Steam should be the only client needed to play games.

fellow ben here, fooled me too.

A difficulty rating for the games.

I'd add some game rules and flavor text to the trading cards. And then I'd have EVERYONE on steam compete. Then the cards would actually be used for something fun, instead of cluttering up my inventory until I fucking sold them.

I'd also add a legit knife shop. Imagine, all those fucking faggots on CSGO would buy real knifes. Limited runs, Dota style swords. It would make Swiss army knifes stock look like toilet paper in moments.

I want this for all my games now

...

You can try every game for a maximum of 10 hours and a minimum of 30 minutes before you choose to buy. The length of time available is at the discretion of the publisher. If you're mad because 30 minutes of playtime would deter most people from your game than tough shit. Take your shitty game somewhere else.

Go back to doing cool things like giving out Left 4 Dead 2 for free on Christmas day.

Only multiplayer-only games need you to sign into Steam.

Get rid of weapon drops in TF2, all weapons are available from the start. That game has gotten to the point where if you don't have every weapon you are at a disadvantage. You've already started doing weapon cosmetics so enough is enough.

Let buyers download the installer.
Steam no longer needed to run the game.

So basically GOG.

Edit their hosts file and redirect every user to reddit when they try to enter here

Fuck you too, faggot.

...

No way this can possibly be abused.

OP said "What features do you add to Steam?" not getting rid of it you illiterate nigger lover.

Democracy implies that everyone has something valid to say, that everyone should have a say and that both of these things apply to everything.

It is the biggest retardation of history

You have to go back, valvedrone.

fuck you nigger !

Reddit confirmed.

you don't fit in and i seriously hope you're not serious

...

Can I remove a feature?

I'd like to remove Greenlight

...

I add the feature of holding all money gained from Steam Market for approximately .5 seconds and routing all of that steam profit % to a random player. This is done 500 times a day. Nothing could go wrong.

The next option would either be to sell the Steam company highly undervalued to Ubisoft, Squeenix, Sony, Nintendo, or some retarded company like facebook (all accounts must be linked to a real human bean :^) ). Or let them all have a share in it. I will watch the quarreling ensue and flames rise as it crashes and burns to the ground.

The next Steam summer game would be entirely player driven. The goal is to pick your favorite gayme franchise (from a designated list) and it will be funded $50 million to make a sequel. The most mouse clicks on the game will win, fun right?
Choices:
Wolf Girl Forever 2
Super Mario 65
Final Gaynassy 17: boyband edition
Dark Sauce 4 Spicy Meatball Deluxe edition (Prepare to heartburn)
Battlefield .5 Return to the Roots of the Zulu Tribe

Just let people use the fucking web browser that's already part of the client without needing to open a game first

Gaben has actually talked a couple times about the last one, apparently they already have a system for it in place.

I hope not. I'd love to see the beaten wifes that were stupid enough to make a steam account lose everything if the service went down. They deserve it.

why does gaben look like oscar wilde?

Because he's a faggot.

But he doesn't

after 3 years game permanently costs 50% the initial price
after 5 years, game costs 25% the price
after 7 years it goes freebie to download and play

developers will be able to delay any of the milestones by a year by paying me additional shekels

also, make a clear separation between A/AA/AAA games and indieshit in the store so niche games can compete with sanfran pixelshit instead of flavour of the month high budget games like doom or sf5

...

do you WANT to incentivate developers to spit out rushed yearly releases ?

A button that makes the store shut the fuck up about VR everything.

Jesus christ user you're a genius.
Customerslove it so even if the devs get their shit fucked over what are they going to do? It's them against you AND the customer.

Rename Steam Greenlight to Steam Redlight District.

Delete Steam, douse the offices in gasoline, go to my office, load my gun, start the fire, shoot myself.

developers don't even remember what they made few years ago neither they care - except for money. i'm gonna swim in money while they'll ruin their budgets trying to pay the everincreasing upkeep costs or have users bathe in welfare free games

Steam Redlight would be the perfect name for an adults-only partition.

No more fucking birthdaywalls, just when you first set up Steam with a payment option you pick either for adult or "for child/no mature content" and can also put a separate password on purchasing so your little shit doesn't bankrupt you, not that Valve would do this last part ever.

And they can't see anything higher than whatever you set, E, T, whatever. It just doesn't show it, blocks ads for those games, etc. Then if you have a normal non-nerfed Steam account it will give you a shamewall for anything with an A rating or unrated so no one gets triggered by accidentally clicking and accidentally buying opening and playing and seeing virtual tits and getting mega PTSD.

This most of all.

-In some cases I've wanted to edit or mod games that have Steam guard or whatever, and ended up unsure what I can safely change, if it's okay as long as I only play singleplayer, or what. Usually you can google it or whatever for an answer, but that shouldn't be necessary in the first place. Plus an unofficial "such and such is probably safe" isn't exactly reassuring. So I want more clarity on messing with my games for my own singleplayer fun and avoiding Steam Guard getting mad at me.

-More privacy options on your profile. In particular I'd like to turn off showing how much I've played my recent games. I don't even care about people seeing what I've been playing and in what order, or total time I've played any given game, I just want to be able to turn off the part listing exactly how much I've played games in the past two weeks.

-This'll probably sound dumb, but I like the basic idea of getting game-themed stuff from cards, like the backgrounds to decorate your profile. Problem is what we do get's kinda lame, and has never been added to. I'd like some sort of character avatar system where you get costume accessories and such to add to your steam character or whatever it would be called. Ideally said character would be 3D, it's not like in-browser 3D is unheard of or anything.

-speaking of Steam cards, make them all equally likely to drop, each set clearly has some cards that are slightly more or less rare than others, and that's garbage.
