I have 1570 hours in Skyrim due to a fuckload of mods, so yes it can be fixed.
Without mods I wouldn't have anywhere near as much though, and even with stability mods it still suffers from having a shitty half-finished unstable engine.

I've put some hours into it as well.
Every year or two I think, "Oh, surely the mod scene has come out with something good by now." Then I make a character and play for about 10 hours and discover that no, they really haven't.
It usually consists of me exploring whatever new cities I've installed, fuck around in some dungeons with some new spells, and realizing that no matter what I do, it still feels like the same shit it always did.
I had more fun with Oblivion than this hot piece of shit, and I didn't like Oblivion even when I was a stupid 14 year old.

Do you even know how fun it is to mess around with various mods in skyrim? There's a ridiculous amount of mods and people are still making em. I could reinstall it right now and find a slew of new stuff to play around with.

Well, since TES6 being announced so soon after FO4 is the stupidest thing Bethesda could do this year, I'd say OP's scenario is the most plausible. There's that twinkle in Todd's eyes that tells me "see this five year old game? We can resell it."

Daggerfall is too big to work on modern systems. It has the retro problem of all of the stuff required to store being too large to update with shiny graphics. As much as I'd like to see the irritating typos disappear, I'm not convinced it's actually possible to remake as anything except a port.

There's an argument to be had here, though, because Fallout 3 brought it from shooter/RPG to first-person shooter/RPG, and it's reasonable to assume that when one is aiming at a mother fucker and fires that mother fucker will be hit, not that there is a percent chance that he will be hit. That's also why The Elder Scrolls hasn't used a die-roll to determine arrow hits since Morrowind.

If they

- remade the assets in Fallout 4's engine, ex
- Expanded the cities, environments, mechanics, etc. to their original vision before consoles cucked it
- Added shit on top of that, fleshed out the quest line which were obviously rushed before.

Then it would be good, I might even buy it (I mean pirate and play) if they did a really nice job. But it's Bethesda and they are only "remastering" it.

HERE IS WHAT IT'S GOING TO BE

- regular Skyrim Legendary Edition for PS4 & XBONE at a higher resolution and almost 60FPS.

- all DLC included like the previous LE but now with Doom 4's add-on store that can integrate with/mirror Steam Workshop.

- Includes the official "Hi-Res" texture DLC from PC but now for consoles, even though this release, somehow, has more graphical bugs and missing effects than the orginal.

-PC doesn't get it or if they do, it doesn't add anything substantial in anyway whatsoever. This is purely so Reddit can play their favorite game without dragging their old console outta their wife's boyfriends' closet. (the real reason is to serve as a vector to introduce paid mods of course)

It's all about paid mods, in the end. They don't care about the mod community. They're ready to burn them out and salt the fucking earth, then pave it over with a bunch of console shitstains who don't care about the mod community - but are only hungry for content. Then they'll cultivate a new mod community who are open to the idea of selling their mods - cutting valve out of the revenue stream in the process.

It truly became a madness in Skyrim where one would need compatibility patches between mods which were mutually exclusive, the moment of one the two mods gets updated in a department that conflicts with the other mod, it's back to the drawing board.

I gave up on Skyrim modding, I hoped against hope that I could get the game to become fun and good but even after manually modding the tiny tiny cities to be bigger and hitting all sorts of invisible walls, AI-glitches and a whole slew of other things I had to give up across the board.

The world truly has gone upside down, it's basically (reverse?) Midas' Touch. Companies get big due to successes by filling a niche, doing something new, combine loose gameplay mechanics into a coherent whole or have a great dedicated modding community due to the sheer potential of the then very new single-player open world medium, ala Morrowind.

Each of these boons, benefits, advantages have not only been squandered but turned on their head, reversed, from their greatest strength turned into the key to their own destruction.

I'm pretty happy about this, as Skyrim fulfills my viking fantasies. Even though it will likely be a 60$ cash grab, I'll still probably pick it up on sale.

I think hines is there to be the representative of the lowest consumer. They introduce a new gimmick, then they call hines to see if he can cope with it. If the thing is too complex or confuses hines with too many words, they fix it. That's the role of hines in the company IMHO.

I've been playing Skyrim again recently, because I wanted to see how the Dark Brotherhood questline ends. And man, the game is so much worse than I remembered. The story was of course complete ass, but it seems that killing the Emperor has absolutely no effect on the world. You'd think SOMEONE would notice.
