Almost every documentary that focuses on that era paints the allies in glorious light and the axis as just pure aggressive evil. In life that is never the case and yet somehow through repetition it slides through the conscious without ever raising suspicion when it alone should be the one thing that raises it the most.

There's a difference between portraying yourself, the victor, in a positive light, and then portraying yourself as the holiest of forces fighting against nothing but pure evil. Documentaries from the very beginning became modern day fairy tales in motion picture form.

Hence the importance of Hitler wrapping up Russia, taking the southern oil fields, and then assisting Japan against the U.S. which would have lead to a ceasefire.

From what my history teacher once told me Hitlers crucial mistake was ending the bombing of England. Just before he called the luftwaffe off England had started losing more pilots then they were able to replace. If he kept it up, he would have soon had air superiority and would have been able to capture the UK and close the Western front meaning DDay never would have happened. (America had to use UK as a staging ground for DDay).

The US was at war with germany in all but name. The declaration of war was basically nothing but a formality.

Hitler diverted an army from the attack on Moscow to secure Kiev. Logically the decision made sense at the time because even with the reinforcements the German force was outnumbered. In hindsight, it was a terrible decision. The Germans had the soviet force surrounded, and the soviet force was badly trained and equipped. It was an unnecessary delay, as the existing German force at the time would have been sufficient to pen the soviets into kiev. This delay meant that when the attack on Moscow began, the weather had turned and the Germans were unable to attack in the winter conditions and the attackers were driven off in a massive counter-attack.

Hitler did one thing wrong, although it's hard to fault him without the advantage of historical hindsight.

They actually didn't mention much about Hitler Hates Da Joos! which was surprising. The only real mention was that there were jews in government and that they were seen as responsible for the failing German state. Which, is pretty reasonable to think regardless of who is in government.

A good portion was also about the French "peacekeepers" there at the time that were abusing civilians. Beating them in the streets, running them down on horseback etc. and the economic problems before Hitler came to power.

The bill of rights is alright for the most part. Not the univeralist aspect of it but they are generally good things to have for a society. A man needs property and to be in charge of that property.
