I just figured he got really drunk, and somehow made his way back to the thread to spill stupidity, or maybe he really did take 2 months to come up with a babbylib amygdala blow-up.

It really is sad. We can defeat these people with reasoning, logic and facts. We can show them how mass immigration is demonstrably bad for a nation, how diversity is the cause of conflict the world over, the rape rates of non European immigrants e.t.c. Is that to say that seeking an objective methodology is a waste of time in the profession or that objectivity is not yet entirely possible in the profession so the findings may be unreliable. I'd rather build upon finding a solution to solidifying those foundations rather than to disregard the profession because it's current methods are unreliable. Until that's achievable I see use in applying theories within the profession as they are currently perceived to measure results.

Don't try to force leftists (or anyone, for that matter) into abandoning their beliefs through argument. It doesn't work on most people. The one major exception to this is when identity is ephemeral or nonexistent. If you care about specific people and want to actually change their minds, you have to come at issues sideways, from directions they don't expect. Ideally you don't want them realizing that you're talking about politics at all until they're already primed to sympathize with you, but at least you shouldn't have them thinking you're opposed to them.

When they encounter more stress than they can cope with, they fully revert back to this and behave exactly as a child around that age would, which may in fact be what you're running into by the way. Some of the people I'm thinking of have been in their 30s… 40s… 60s… This doesn't go away on its own. For example, the ex-wife of someone I know would exhibit amnesia and begin speaking fluent French which she learned as a child, but completely lost all memory of as an adult.

That's just one example though. The mental illnesses involved can be many. There could be some sort of manic depression or other emotional disorder involved. Think about it, how do we view Tumblr?
