Niggers
So does this mean they don't believe it can stand on its own?
Is this a "If a Nigger gets to page 15, he's free" thread?
I thought Titanfall was fun
they were probably already working on it before the first one released, tripsman.
Why is the same publishing company even releasing two big budget shooters within the same timeframe? Terrible idea.
They probably don't even think they can stand against a CoD 4 remaster and another future CoD.
So the first one sold so fucking good that up till now no numbers were released, and they really want to bring a second one?
Against Battlefield 1.
I doubt that either one of those will sell particulary well, but even they must see that it'll harm their sales by splitting up the players and forcing them to chose between them.
It was alright from a FPS perspective, but its clear the makers held no love of the mecha genre at all.
They dared to call battletech mechs slow, the slowest of which move at 32 km/h. It showed that they had no interest in mechs except to sell the idea to the CoD crowd.
You little faggot, I bet you like dressing in pretty panties and stockings
Nice trips half-Satan.
I thought Titanfall bombed.
It fucking did.
Who the fuck thought releasing a sequel to half assed game was a good idea?
The world is going mad, I tell you.
Probably not. MS funded most of the development, and it sold because it was the few new games out with loads of hype
Titan fall could've been something really fun. The idea of playing as foot soldiers side by side with giant mechs sounds fun as fuck, but of course EA found a way to make it the most boring thing in the world.
Think of it this way. Even after Dragon age II, there was inquisition. Triple A doesnt learn.
True, but Inquisition wasn't made to make money or to be a good game, but to please cock hungry faggots who wanted to ride the bull.
Makes me wonder if we'll get a healthy dose of "diversity" in titanfall 2 as well, like battlefield 1 is doing.
You are autist weeb. This sound like moba snowballing what you are suggesting, It's horrible. And noobs are already feeding in deathmatches.
Diversity is never healthy, because it destroys social cohesion and altruism in men. So yes, you will get it. Neoliberalism is all about trying to exploit things, even when it's anger and shitty politics.
I actually care, the first one is pretty fun.
So long as they are rare, expensive, or a big deal to lose one, it could balance just fine. Stop playing shit games with shit fans.
But deathmatch is worst game mode to begin with. Of course it's filled with noobs.
titanfall developer doesn't even like mecha and the mechs are just oversized CoD soldiers
BEHEAD THOSE WHO INSULT /m/ECHA!
Maybe I misunderstood because your English still needs some work but how does mechs requiring teamwork to take down equal moba snowballing? It would surely be a lot better than shitty killstreak mechs that are hardly worth anything.
How smarmy of a cunt do you have to be to say that with a straight face?
They made one of the highest selling franchises in history and got none of the money, of course they're smug assholes.
Titanfall was fucking fun faggot.
"Stanby by for mech fall"
Damn, so catchy! Like battle mech aquila or armored mech!
You complain EVERYTIME about that inteview, but get over it faggot, it's hard to make the "mech" word work in titles and slogans. Why do you get so assblasted when somebody admit that? There is a kind of mech called titans. Woah, horrible!
Did Titanfail even do well enough to warrant a sequel to begin with? All I know is that once it came out I stopped hearing about it which was a relief.
But yeah they're crazy if they think it'll sell while sandwiched in between Battlefield 1 and CoD:IW.
Smells like shill in here
It's worth complaining about. Not only does it confirm that the industry is aware that mechs make normalfags feel insecure, but that the game was designed from the ground up by the marketing team.
He didn't say "they are mechs called titans". What mecha game ever calls their mechs "mechs"? They are called frames, or AC's, or walkers, or titans here. So stop being a AAA dev apologist. Your proposed reason is stupid.
No, he was trying to change the very perception of the very obvious thing. Something key in marketing.
It's obviously a fucking mech. But the fact he wants to argue that it's NOT just goes to show what level of quality we are dealing with here.
They never intended for the mech to be meaningful. It's a kill streak bonus like anything else. They didn't want people to think of it as a mech game. They wanted people to think of it as a call of duty game. The same way authors will write sci-fi but then try their absolute hardest to have it called and labeled as anything BUT sci-fi.
"it's a mech game." "THEY AREN'T MECHS, THEY ARE TITANS."
Well, its more like if you call your giant robots "mechs," you're getting that much closer to a lawsuit.
The mech genre is notorious for patent trolls, blame battletech, and macross, and gundam for that.
Titanfall could have been fixed. The AI NPC bullet fodder was completely retarded. Make it 12v12 or 16v16 with 3-4 titans max concurrent per team. Maybe make the titans harder to kill, too. It was trivial to pop out of cover and fill one full of rockets, then hide and repeat until the thing was dead.
The parkour shit was dumb too, but it's serviceable due to urban maps. Bolster it with Tribes-style skiing in open areas and slightly more jumpjet time and it might start approaching fun.
Good luck with that
idk whats more funny, the reddit watermark or the fact that this is gaming in 2016
Did they make any money with the first one?
Wasn't it a total loss?
Now I just want a tribes game with mechs
Did you play this game or any moba? Don't start telling me you played those games. I experienced a lot of those scenarios in Super Monday Night Combat, it was horrible. The enemy player gets fed and becomes difficult to kill. That's similar what you suggestion a enemy pilot gets fed and summon his overpowered Titan which will be to difficult kill. Yes, the best to defeat this mech is teamwork and you don't get much points for team effort in Titanfall. Forget it is shit for fast-paced games.
The only way I could connect ASSFAGGOTS to the powerful-but-limited mechs idea being replied to would be through the concepts of Carry, Support, and Hunting.
Let's say you have two teams going at each other. The most skilled teammate is usually assigned the position of Carry - whose main job is simply to get stronger and kill as much of the opposing team as he can, usually by using heroes with higher-than-average DPS. The rest of the team are relegated to Supports - their job is to protect the Carry so he can maintain his momentum as he gains strength. Carries have primacy over whatever XP and gold can be found. And so, a good Support willingly ignores farming areas when he sees the Carry going through them and avoid XP share, as well as weaken opposing units (but not necessarily kill them) so the Carry can last-hit/kill-steal them and gain XP and gold faster.
The opposing team will obviously be doing the same, so another job for the Supports would be to slow down the momentum of the opposing team's Carry. Where Supports can't match a Carry one-on-one, a Carry that hasn't reached unstoppable levels yet can be taken down when outnumbered - and this is why it's called Hunting, as the opposing team's Carry is the primary target. Hunting, of course is much easier when initiated by the friendly Carry, and it benefits him too as killing heroes allows him to gain XP and gold that much faster.
Even in games where no one actively calls for the Carry-Support dynamics, it usually springs up anyways - given that there are 3 lanes of equal XP split up between 5 players. There will always be at least one lane where a player gains more XP than his teammates. The players with the easiest access to XP/gold tend to be the most significant factor in determining a matches' outcome, by sheer significance of numbers.
In the powerful-but-limited mechs idea, there would be some parallels. Whoever holds the team's mech automatically becomes the Carry. The team that loses their mech is temporarily vulnerable, and subject to being killed off by the opposing team's mech or possibly lose territory control in order to cope with the opposing team's advantage. There will be players who will specialize in mech combat, actively calling "I'll Carry!" over the chat or line in every goddamn match. There will be tryhards, and there will be bickering.
That's about it, though. I dunno how it could snowball from there. Holla Forums dislikes ASSFAGGOTS for technically unrelated reasons (aside from the aforementioned prima donna syndrome of some Carries). It's not like FPSs haven't had vehicle combat before, either.
Also, before anyone asks, I haven't gotten into ASSFAGGOTS since DOTA almost a decade ago and I'm just remembering things offhand.
