Lads...

Lads, I found out that there is a commie group at my /uni/ called the international marxist tendency but they're Trotskyists. Is anyone familiar with this group? Are they worth joining? Also how cancer is Trotskyism? I'm still new to leftism but I've heard people say Trotskyism is trash so I'm concerned about joining.

It'd check them out. They're not the worst group out there. Pretty good for Trotskyists,I know because I am one. They split from the international I'm in so there's a few differing views but they're still pretty alright.

Pretty sure we have someone in the IMT on the board.

judge for yourselves!

Strange thing that only trots are active at colleges and universities
where is the other fags ?

i have seen maoist and anarchist groups too

I think Muke joined them. If they're your only option for commies, I'd join them. It'd be an interesting exercise in learning different theory.

all MLisms are cancer

Checked them out at my school. Felt cultish tbqh.

trots aren't that bad they're just not as good as MLs or some anarchists

I joined the IMT recently as they were the only organization at my uni. I was told they would be terrible because they're all trots, but honestly I've had loads of fun with the branch meetings and society meetings ect, all the actual IMT members are really nice and they actually dont even talk about Trotsky that often, or force you to read Revolutuon Betrayed 10 times a day or something like that. In fact as I joined they had just finished group reading Lenin's 'What Is To Be Done' and now they're gonna be group reading Engle's 'Socialism: Uptopian and Scientific', which I will be joining in with.

Also, they even seem anti-idpol, although they dont out right advertise it like Holla Forums does.

However this is just my branch, no idea how yours would be, especially as you're probably in a different country too. Just do what I did and prepare for a SJW Trotsky cult but hope for just some cool leftists.

If you're in England though, you should come to the Socialist Appeal event thingy in London this November which lasts the whole weekend and is gonna have Trotsky's grandson as a guest speaker. I'm gonna be there at least.

The publish theoretical articles denying the big bang theory

What do they think of Lars T. Lih's book on WITBD?

I dont know you would have to ask them yourself

Trots are prone to splitting, more so than any other group. They talk a lot about the childishness and lack of discipline among Anarchists and the intellectual sclerosis and blind following of some glorious leader in Stalinist groups, but Trots have both traits in stronger form than either.

Trotsky's writing on economic issues is batshit insane, flip-flopping between far left and far right positions, each time looking like a parody.

That book cover is genius. Look, the force of splitting is coming from inside the Trotsky!

The best way to capture the spirit of Trotsky would be some horror movie. It starts with some people becoming so obnoxious at work place that a business falls apart, despite huge demand for its product. Then, the movie follows some of these people going to hobbyists groups being utter cunts and ruining everything. Then their behaviour spreads like a… virus.

Just because nobody is left in your group, doesn't mean you stop splitting. Invasion of the Body Splitters. Starring Lance Henriksen as the leader of the proper Marxist-Leninist youth group investigating that shit and Rob Schneider as the most charismatic Trotskyist.

IMT are shit tier trots. Entryists and sockdems, pretty boring tbh. But I guess meeting new people with a similar point of view isn't all that bad. If I were new to leftism I'd check them out.

There's nothing wrong with trotskyists unless you ask the million or so different sects on Holla Forums. Most people join trotskyist groups simply for an anti Stalinist stance, rather than Trotsky worship, anyway.

Join and see for yourself.

redundant redundancy

Trostyism seems also rather sympathetic to moderate/undecided socialists who hesitates between it and a "normal" social democracy. (like me)

even based tier trots are shit tier commies tbh

I subscribe to the belief than any non-Maoist group is worth joining.

Ideology is a lot less important than organization and activity.

The IMT are revisionists, socdems, and reformists.

My suggestion to you is to try and find a proper marxist organization and ignore the trots as from my experience they are childish and can hardly decide on their ideology long enough to put it to practice. However, if there is no other group, any form of organisation is better than no organisation, and you should join them instead of being a sectarian cunt.

My beef with trots is their antagonism to other marxists and their cult of personality around Trotsky (heh), plus their awful economic theory. But ehh, as bad as that sounds, they are still usually better than socdems and anarchists.

If they didn't splinter by now, that means they are good.

Requesting the screencap with the trotskist asking if the ISSU should split before it was even created.

...

Are those the paedophiles?

The pro-pedo liberation people are the Spartacists, and the Sparts are Trots.

bump

OP said uni, so i presume OP is from the UK.
in the UK Corbynistas are mostly Trotskyists. historically they are the only slick entryists to Labour, and this is why they own the uni-scene. healthcare unions in South London and Liverpool are Trots too as well as the TU
i would join them immediately.
