I mean, the first commercial was "these are anthropomorphic animals and can be funny!"

The second trailer was the DMV scene which was only kinda funny for the sloth laugh, but then was just irritating as fuck.

It wasn't until the 3rd or 4th trailer where they even mentioned something akin to a plot "about civil predators going feral" before it hit theaters, and so the only people who saw it were mostly the diehard furfags or the people that see ANY movie that is shat out.

The DMV trailer made me hate nick, then the next clip I saw was judy abusing the hell out of nick in some other scene, both times the character doesn't come off as endearing or funny ,it comes off as "holy shit, someone put a fist in that fucker's face".
