Anybody here play Rivals? They recently added a ranked mode and nerfed some but not all of the cheap shit. I think its fun to just stop paying attention and let instinct take over as I demolish Zetterburn kiddies.

Just shitter moves overall, for instance you now need to hold down B for a couple seconds on Absa to get the lightning charge to follow you and Wrastor's moves now actually have end lag.

So this was the idea I wanted to ask about in the previous thread. But really the only people that would be able to give good feedback on it would be Kirby fans (I've only played through Nightmare in Dream Land and Squeak Squad, hence why I'm asking others).

Do you think these are a good selection of tracks for these two stages? I basically had to look up each Kirby game's OST on YouTube to find picks for anything that wasn't a song from Kirby's Adventure/NMiD or already in Smash. Anything notable missing or anything superfluous I should drop? I tend to go overboard when choosing songs since I don't want to have some massive oversights.

For Butter Building, I was thinking of the Forest/Nature Area theme being a new remix since while the one in Smash 4 wasn't bad, I feel a grander remix would work better here, but maybe that's just me. Castle Lololo is paired with Super Star's Boss Battle theme (since Castle Lololo was remixed as a boss theme in Super Star Ultra), but that's because I'm not sure if it could hold it's own by itself. Not too sure about having Yogurt Yard there either.

And for Green Valley, Can't decide whether Floral Fields should be a remix or just the original. The original is great, but I couldn't help but wonder what a remix would sound like. Not sure if Over the Hills works as is or needs a remix either; seems a tiny bit bland as is. As for cuts, I feel I should definitely drop Peppermint Palace, since it doesn't really fit that well, but I'm not too sure about Patched Pathway; I sort of feel like I only added since Robobot just came out and felt obliged to have some music from it (actually didn't look up the whole OST for that one. Too many songs). Not sure if I should have Ripple Field here or on Butter Building instead.

Amiibo's don't actually have a learning algorithm. They have preset intelligence.

It sucks that for glory has friendly fire turned off during 2v2 matches. The matches feel less fun when you can't pull off smash shenanigans in teams, and they're missing out on learning some basic strategies you can pull off with your partner.

From what I've heard, players would routinely throw matches so strong players could get matched up against weaker players from other regions and knock them out of contention for the money. So long as they're both profitable, I don't see Mr. McRib dropping any of them any time soon. Smash 4 still has that new game hype (having broken 2k entrants so far) but Melee has had so many more interesting tourneys this year and still continues to grow in attendance (Genesis 3 almost matched EVO 2015).

I guess it depends on what EVO means to each person. I'm sure the organizers, having had shit like Injustice and Pokken onstage (and I think MKX as well), are perfectly fine with whatever new flavour of the month will make them the most money. As long as tr4sh is guaranteed to have a big turnout - which it is since it attracts devoted autists - then they'll be okay hosting it.

In terms of the viewer experience, I think EVO is meant to be one of the biggest tournaments of the year, where all sorts of fighting games can come together and chest pound about what makes them great. It's as much for the players as it is for the viewers, because it provides a good point for your average normalfag to start playing fighting games, or at least start learning about them if he wants to.

To that end, tr4sh should not be here because it's boring as shit to watch. I'd rather watch Brawl than tr4sh, honestly.

I actually have been wondering that, with all the support that the Pokemon Company is giving to Pokken (official circuit with $100k in prizes), would Nintendo take down one or two Smashes from being in major FGC tournaments like EVO or CEO just to further or promote Pokken? I feel like they may have more faith in Pokemon than Smash with how profitable the long-running TCG and recent VGC tournaments have been for them.

I noticed that in the last 3 games, he went for many more techchases, and could convert more. Before, he would go for the jab reset, and what ended up happening was wizzy sdi'd up and got out. m2k then went for more usmash and jab utilts off of techchases, and he started up kill combos.

Sm4sh. I used to play Brawl as a Wolf main. What's the matter, scared!? Too many MKs at tournaments i tried, so I quit when 4 came out.

I played PM and Melee for a while but it took a toll on me physically. I was a pretty decent ganon but I couldn't ever compete at a 'real' level due to sustained injuries.
