I dont know who Buster Bluth is, apparently someone off a Jewish sitcom. Himmler might not look like a badass, but as I said, he must have some achievements which significantly furthered National Socialism, or else he wouldnt have been in such a senior role in the first place, or have made it beyond the long knives - to serve as leader of the SS. His loyalty was not in question.

I must say, for being supposedly devout National Socialists, I think almost all of us are guilty of not knowing our own history, and our own ideology even. I have a book on the way about the Nazi economic recovery, and have read the 1932 economic platform which is available on /pdfs/… but how many other people understand the economic aspect, for example? That is one of the main areas National Socialism focused on, a lot of it was taking back control of the National Economy. Its not all blood/race and war and memes about Jews.

I think I will grab a book or 2 on Himmler, I have a massive backlog as it stands, so nothings happening any time soon.. but hes obviously an interesting figure worth looking into more, especially since hes effectively been memory holed, as we can see by how bare for facts this thread has been so far.

How much have you read into him? He had Hitlers trust. I agree that Goebbels was obviously worthy of an extremely amount of respect, which is why it bothered me so much to hear of him being undermined and insulted by Himmler. That said, I still think he must have say - demonstrated his loyalty, somehow. I don't think blindly attacking former senior Nazis in good repute is the right thing to do. They are heroes, until demonstrated otherwise. At their trials, Goering was incensed by Hess's apparent amnesia. Real or feigned, Hess was saying he could not remember who Goering was. Goering went on a big rant, listing off his lofty titles, as if history would forget how important he was for being #2 to Hitler and in control of the luftwaffe etc etc. This struck me as extremely vain, and daft, considering Hess was probably trying to spare BOTH of them execution.

I agree. More people need to actually read and not just rely on inforgraphics. I'm fairly backlogged on my reading but if you find any good books report back in a few weeks and re-start the thread, share what you've learned.

I read Feder's manifesto and agreed with it fully. It was a shame Hitler didn't take his full advice. He took some of it though.

It is a tricky situation having an isolated economy in a world bent on globalization. What they did then would be even more difficult today with technology enabling maximum financial Jewry.

There's a bit of bad mouthing of Goebbels in it sadly. The original book was written in 96 when Irving was trying to keep a reputation.

Somewhere after the Lipstadt trial, when Irving became persona non grata as a historian, he stopped badmouthing NS.

Still, it's the best book on Goebbels I've seen. He got a lot of hard to find items like microfiche slides of his diaries that I've seen nowhere else. Goebbels is worth studying and respect, because here is a man who was born short, frail, with a leg his whole life, all the reason to become some fucking loser on r9k decrying the unfair world, but he never gave up. A nation of Germans that probably automatically would dislike such a little crippled runt were won over by this man I'm the 20s, and that's why, as Rosenberg wrote in his Memoirs at the Nuremberg trials, Hitler time and time again sided with Goebbels over other party members.

- With his wife he had one daughter and an adopted son. His daughter Gudrun is still alive and active in SS veterans groups. An absolute unrepentant Nazi.

- With his mistress he had both a son and a daughter. Both still alive AFAIK

- The accepted history is Himmler committed suicide by cyanide capsule. Davis Irving has assembled evidence he was actually beaten to death by British intelligence. Make of that what you will.

- The man was an organizational genius. Once more, despite his unassuming appearance he was successful power play at the highest level of the Nazi state. He was a complex man who has been utterly defamed by history. Hitler may have led the Nazi state but Himmler was the living embodiment of Nazism. He may not have met the physical ideal of National Socialism but it was his sprit and cunning that held together the Nazi state as long as it did.

- The Hillmer biography by Manvell and Fraenkel is probably the best. It’s an early biography and so untainted by holocaust bigotry.

- Felix Kersten, Himmler’s personal physical therapist, wrote a book of his time with Himmler. Very interesting book that give’s insight into the humanity of second most powerful Nazi.

- His great grand nice Katrin Himmler, although a despicable race traitor, wrote an interesting book about the family called 'The Himmler Brothers'

I bet if one wanted to learn about Himmler, they would be better to read about the SS itself, as reading about the SS security apparatus (which would be fun, and interesting I imagine to most) would tell you a lot about the man who was in charge of it, and formed it.

He was certainly valuable for his organizational skills, and a great deal of the credit also goes to Heydrich. They were the bearers of law and order. They instilled the fear necessary for the supremacy of the Reich.

I don't really know much about him, but my grandfather alleged to have met him. I'm not really sure why he'd bother to be in the same room as some random ukranian, but my grandad was rather tight lipped about his time during the war and never went out of his way to blow himself up with it or anything. I'd pester him about quite a bit as he was nearing the end, and one of the few questions he'd give ground on was if he had ever met anyone of note, aside from some local names Himmler was the one that stood out. Apparently he was more interested in talking with former land owners than front line fighters, I don't really have any idea what this alleged meeting was about, but it sounded administrative in nature.

Anyone more well read have any idea about this? Did Himmler ever even travel that far east? I'm honestly not sure what to make of the story, if you can even call it that.

As I showed above, he joined the SS in I think it was '25, and then took control in 29. It was pretty much an organization created by Himmler. I think I will read specifically on the SS, and through that more could be learned about Himmler and his decisions, and actions, and contributions.

There is so much to read, so much we don't know.Im pretty sure eventually Im going to grab a book just on Kristallnacht, Im pretty sure I saw 2 of them when I went looking. Thats just 1 night, but we need to know about it. Our history is nothing to be afraid of, I might add. I have yet to see a single thing to be ashamed of having promoted. Our people acted in ways that were morally justified, they have been wrongfully vilified through history and the more I read about them, the more I see they truly did nothing wrong. Small mistakes were made by the leadership, but none out of a spirit which could be criticized. They did what they thought had to be done, nothing more and nothing less. To a large extent, they were successful, but were defeated purely due to overwhelming opposition and impossible odds.

The book threads have been really helpful to that end. We would be well served by giving them a little more structure though. Perhaps weekly/monthly book club threads where we all knock out the same book and talk it over on the specified timeline.

Not only would it help keep anons on task working through that backlog, but it would give us a place to work through and discuss any confusion. Can be a bit of a pain asking for clarification on something you read in a book nobody else cares about in a thread about something else entirely.

Ive been reading on a lot of subjects, but Ive put a heavy focus on things related to military, guerilla warfare, special forces, etc. There are a lot of books, but only some of them are worth reading. Pic related pretty much shows how to run a guerilla group. Any militia leader in the US should be reading it, for example.

Mein Kampf is probably not the best book to recommend to people as the first thing they read, there are several copies, theres a translation controversy, and even a book written on that controversy. I plan to do it eventually, but personally have avoided it because its like reading 3 books.

Read Hitler: Beyond Evil and Tyranny by R. H. S. Stolfi. It's the only Hitler bio written by an actual historian that give a balanced assessment of the man. Most Hitler bios are written by historians that despise the man.

What's the point of an SS without a leader to protect? We need militias, not party apparatus without a party. Our organizational strategies and the past is not our guide in this. Trump's Americanism is the only thing we can get going until the overton window shifts enough for full blown National Socialism, and even then we're not going to get every single thing we want. As for a Holla Forumsack… pic related is always the first book they should get. This is effectively our bible. They kikes say the Turner Diaries are our bible, but thats not a bible. This book is organized as a series of extremely detailed accounts of many subjects. The section on Rockwell alone is worth picking the book up over. My copy is thoroughly highlighted, at least every couple pages there was something I found myself in excited agreement with, or particularly interesting, or having made a solid argument in support of something we stand for. Absolutely bursting with valuable information.

If you read about Rockwell, you will also be highly recommended to read Mein Kampf. He found it particularly inspirational, and couldnt speak highly enough about it. Reading Mein Kampf is a necessity, although personally I tried to not follow the same route everyone else does, and to seek out new books I could recommend. Mein Kampf is extremely important, but its also something as described, should be and is read by many, many people.

The book in pic related for example is read by much less people, and yet, its equally important. The special forces book, that is also highly important. Mein Kampf wont solve all our problems, and you should not be so narrow in your thinking. Goebbels describes National Socialism well, in short form, in "Those Damned Nazis". Have you read it? It's funny, I'm actually reading Pinkerton's book for the very same reason.

Mein Kampf can be rough if you're new to the movement, and some of the translations are a real slog. But once you've got a foundation it really should be a priority, the tome is a treasure trove of knowledge, and it's the closest you'll ever get to Hitler's own words. I prefer Ford of Stalag, but either will get you there.

Kershaw and Toland both have great ones out on him as well. Toland's being perhaps the best one out there.

If you have been on Holla Forums for the required two years before posting which most in this thread haven't, a "bad" translation isn't going to inhibit you from understanding the Führer's words. Broken down and simple, the Ford translation is the popular one, and the Stalag is the only one actually endorsed by Hitler's Germany. Both are fine.

The benefit to the Ford translation is that there is an accompanying book that gets really autistic about translations and compares the Murphy/Stalag/Ford all back to back with excerpts. Once you start reading Mein Kampf, you won't want to stop.

In Mein Kampf Hitler said that no economic concessions were to great to make. Economy was not a central tenant of National Socialism, it was an afterthought. I don't think we'll ever get to the core of Himmler. Everything around him is deliberately altered.
