Let's say there are a set of experiments which show matter is not matter as we think of it, but really a probability waiting to be actualized via a measurement. This is exactly how VRs work. How can such a large database of information be contained in such a tiny, efficient system? If and when scientists conduct experiments that show this reality works the same way, that things do not exist until a measurement is taken, then it will be hard to deny the simulated reality hypothesis.
