Lots of porkyganda surrounding it and I want truthbombs for reactionaries.

Venezuela is a capitalist country where most of the market is controlled by the state, add huge corruption and you have a time bomb

They are right in that it sucks

But it's not a socialist country

Wasn't it like a year ago though?

Venezuela was never socialist.

Anyway, the problem was that they failed to socialize the means of production, key industries were under the direct control of a corrupt and nepotistic state, and they failed to diversify the economy and instead used petrodollars to fund socdem programs until the price of oil collapsed and the whole thing fell apart. Just one more example of incompetent state capitalists giving socialism a bad name.

Porkies are hoarding food, hence food crisis.

WOW, WHAT A DISCOVERY

told you about the vanguard party and the state

...

I think that the most common combination of words in Venezuela right now is "Industria Colombiana"

Yeah, you can go to a supermarket and find rice and pasta… imported from Colombia.

It's expensive and there's no alternative.

This.

Chavez should have seized the means of production and dismantled the bourgeois state apparatus when he had the chance.

they decided to steal al the money instead, class traitors

the venezuelan economy started dying completely pretty much as soon when maduro took over, before the oil crash, when the long term effect of expropiations really started being felt

If anything this just makes him cooler in my book.

as someone who has had contact with the Ven government…
They are not socialists, they are radical socdems, with all the contradictions of social democracy. They are progressive and attempted to pass socialist reforms, while keeping a capitalist economy and not attempting to transition from the capitalist mode of production. This contradictory set of policies led to their current 'collapse'. SO they could be called progressive bourgeois, but that doesn't mean they are successful.

Thank you.

Explain how did the expropriations cause food shortages and what not

...

Government takes food company, doesn't give a shit about using the right people for the right kind of work, and kills it.

Then there's the exchange control issue: Big company goes through all kind of bullshit to convert their bolivares to dollars, small company can't do that, and that's how you end up with a shortage and a monopoly.

...

isn't state capitalism literally what most cuckservatives think "socialism" means?

like what did they do that B████ wasn't proposing.

Has there ever been a socialist nation or were all the vanguard parties capitalists?
