All of the hate for Guide is an artifact of the original release of Terraria where he only provided tutorial hints and was unkillable unlike the other NPCs. Combine that with the somewhat shoddy AI all the NPCs had (they lacked even the most basic in self preservation) the Guide was widely hated. Cut to 1.1 and you get the Guide Voodoo Doll which let players take all their pent up frustrations out on the Guide and then finally sacrifice him to the Wall of Flesh.

I did an actual automatic (9 buttons) tic tac toe with flip flops and everything.
It is very annoying to make actual circuits in this game since everything is pulse based.
Instead of wires having a state, the inputs and outputs have a state, and they change state every time a pulse reaches them through a wire. And this is when either a gate turns on or off, so there is no difference between OR/NOR AND/NAND and XOR/NXOR since the only thing you have to do to change between them is to flip the state of the input you are connecting the output with.
Since every input/light/thing has some on/off state, your circuits can easily reach into a "broken state" while you are modifying them, and you have to re-add the gates with some autism precision to reach again the normal state.

There is a faster way. Get a flamelash and hover it over the ground, the particles will light up a lot of space. You then dig to where they dont reach and make a tunnel. Then you repeat.

Apart from the rooves (roofs?) I'd say it looks alright for a wood building. I think it's generally better to do the entire roof section out of a different material instead of just the outside.

Also the problem is there's so many specks of grass and pockets of stone that I need to purge, I pretty much need to dig up the entire area no matter what.

Little grass blocks underground are hard to reach and hard to find, and corruption / crimson can spread through them even though there's no surface. In hardmode the stuff can spread up to like 5 blocks, so those little pockets underground can gradually spread it over to stone chunks and make a biome.
It's super annoying, also it triggers me bad because the ground isn't nice an uniform.

One expert world I'm actually using that I was just trying to find the enchanted sword in until I realized my roots were too deep in it to really abandon it (once the commieblocks are in place it's all over), another normal world to farm crimson items from, and that's it

Other than that, there are a lot of problems with it. It's structurally wrong, the walls aren't well walled, lot of walls stick out of the building while there are blank spots in some parts. Walls being 1 block thick is a problem and is overall terribly designed, if there was a design at all.

I've turned steam cloud off for terraria (and most games) because it's lame and occasionally fucks with stuff.

Cloud's a huge inconvenience and would totally eat worlds when it was first launched, I turned it off before it even had a chance to try to establish itself.

Truffle is meant to have two eyes, but it looks like you're seeing him from a 45 degree angle, making it seem like he has only one.

And the ironic part is when we entered Hardmode, the Hallow kicked the Corruption out.

Hallowed snow is super comfy. And in my experience it's a good place to find disco slimes.

Rainbow slimes spawn in hallowed biomes, but only on non-hallow blocks, which is why snow biomes seems to spawn so many.

Well that explains it. You could just put a layer of wood over the terrain in any hallowed biome.

Probably stardust, since lunar-type weapons are typically op as all fuck compared to anything earlier.

Dragon is, in my opinion, the best when you've got a lot of the stuff. He can run far off screen, and at any enemy, which is great for crowd control.

How about single target? I heard it has lower dps (except mech worm which stacks up and gets 1shot).

The dragon does far more damage than the Cells when it's on target. The problem is it tends to fuck around and not stay on target a lot of the time.

When I'm just fucking around i tend to have a 1-2 segment Dragon and the rest Cells. For bosses I'd use just Dragon, but a melee set would be preferable.

The thing about the dragon is that you cannot melee hit the enemy while he is on it. So it's not really a good summon for melee users.

then they released a patch that made it so any water that makes it into hell disappears. we never figured out why that lake just refused to drain. whether it was a bug or something else we don't know, but man it was good times flooding half the underworld.

I remember that early versions of the game had weird water physics, and sometimes water miltiplied, so it was easier to make water multipliers. Probably the water of the first lake was actually multiplying.

If I recall correctly it's still handled that falling water increases in volume as it travels as a workaround for some fluid complication or another, so if it falls for long enough you can easily flood the tunnel it's falling in.

That the lake didn't bloody drain is weird, though.

When a body of water is (was?) large enough, it kind of skipped over figuring out how to reduce its volume. Water physics in Terraria are really fucking weird.

Keep the exact shape you have here but replace the gray brick and wall with stone slab block and wall. You'll have to use back wall around the interface between the slabs and dirt since heavy workbench blocks don't blend.
Use iron or led doors instead of wood and maybe trap doors and tall gates too.
Use lead fence for barred windows.
Use some of the more "mechanical" looking lighting instead of torches or, if you are going for a less modern style, use some of the dungeon exclusive lighting (Brass Lantern, Caged Lantern, Carriage Lantern, Oil Rag Sconse)

My sibling found a radical glitch/exploit. Overview; so you need menu auto pause on, you need a fishing pole, you need bait, you need various thing in your inventory you don't mind throwing (such as a stack of dirt) , you need a source of liquid that will allow you to catch fish.

How to do it; cast your fishing pole, open your menu, unstack and throw a single piece of junk out of your inventory aiming the item where you want a few functioning fishing bobbers/lines to go.

Other stuff you can do with this glitch: enjoy it while it lasts because it will be patched these devs are faggot fun killers, make a video showcasing it for archival purposes (example youtube.com/watch?v=Mw9uIF7JZ-w), take some screen shots for the thread, look like a spider, catch a lot of fish/items simultaneously to sell them or farm quest fish, test if you can summon more then 1 duke fishron, test to see if each extra line uses additional bait ect

You don't need to cast the pole, just select it, open the menu, grab an item and discard it. The lines go where the cursor is when the menu is closed, not where the block was thrown. Throw the block and then move the cursor before closing the menu to see that. Throwing a single item, or any quantity, doesn't appear to have any influence on the number of lines cast, nor which item gets thrown. Thrown items don't seem to get lost in the process of throwing them, so using junk should be unnecessary, but a good precaution. It seems to throw two lines after each toss regardless of item or stack quantity. It does consume bait, and I think it can consume more than one. Throwing your last bait causes all lines to fail even if they were mid bob and you immediately left click after closing menu. Might be good to use a single bait in your inventory at a time, but each line may calculate chance to consume bait individually and since they will fail if last bait is gone, it may not matter.

Well, the glitch isn't so bad if you only can get fishing stuff, but you're a retard. Exploiting things, although fun, can potentially suck the fun out of a game as much as competition can do it, what would be the point on farming or getting bait if you can do this and call it a day? It does consume multiple bait, and runs the bait quantity check on each line individually, so if you cast 50 lines and consume your bait on the third, the last 47 come up empty. Also, since bait can be consumed when pulling the line up at the wrong time, this is a very effective way to waste bait. Fast way to fish if you have a ton of bait though.

Don't use stone slab, it's ugly and doesn't merge with other blocks, it has very limited uses.

Implying honey is not useful and is extremely plentiful.

Hoiks exist and are superior to platform elevators if you're into that sort of thing.

This broke housing for some people and would force them to have to change their house to stop NPC orgies.

The only real complaint about this is the bunny canon issue and they're considering how to remedy this.

Your argument falls apart after I bring up these simple points, if you are going to leave hoiks why not leave the platform elevator? The hoik elevator is finicky as fuck and you can walk through solid objects while trying to find just the right place to stand to actually ascend. There is already enough problems with housing as is for example there is no "no npcs are allowed to live in this house" flag so I have had to endure a stinky turban wearing indian who have never showered before in their entire life pooing in my solid gold room instead of their DESIGNATED commie blocks, there is no reason to remove this feature. who is this harming, again why is the infinite speed minecart glitch removed, why not implement it as a some minecart booster particle deconstructing travel through solid objects accelerator? Obviously things that cause stability issues should be fixed or repaired and turned into features. I know how shitty the terraria engine is, thats why I personally believe they should just cancel terraria 2 and just remake it on a brand new engine and actually realize it to its full potential this time, sandbox games dont do well with sequels. Also while we are at it if the ufo mount essentially gives infinite flight so why can you not use jumps plus rocket boots effect plus wings the initial reasoning for this was because they didnt want infinite flight since that is no longer the case why not allow for all those effects to happen? I left mine as Alt, and favoriting things doesn't work normally. Only way to favorite anything is to Alt-Tab, which makes the favoriting "stuck" until I hit Alt to unstick it.

It's wide enough so you could fit small rooms into it, in addition to rope/stairs/whatever.

Or you could add armor stands or trophies to the sides or something.

Just make the new blueprint thing. Permanent wire vision (adjustable with buttons in the upper-left of the screen), you can cut wires any distance away, and they even go directly into your inventory instead of falling on the ground.

Above the "marble gallery" I did a cave with water leaks and waterfalls, like an aquifer. The problem is, it looks bland AND there are 2 pocketed caves in each side. and dunno what to build there.

Also, I did a clock tower in the middle of the tower. I will fill it with clocks.
