This game was so fucking cool

It deviated from the troublesome problem Deluxe and Return to Dreamland were having of 'Play regular kirby level, except now there's a new ability to blast through the rest of it' by incorporating some pretty neat ideas with the Mech.

The level design was really good, I didn't feel like any levels were bland.

It has a fucking ROCKING soundtrack.

It doesn't shove the story in your face and it's only there if you look for it. As expected of a Kirby game, the story it has gets dark real fuckin' quick.

Sasuga Kirby gaymu, it controls really well.

It's also really cute.

one thing i dislike that super abilities, hypernova and ride armor did was having a section in the endgame where you body several minibosses in succession or at the same time, without a way to do them normally. i would have loved to take on multiple midbosses at once.

Naw, the mech's basically just a return of the animal buddies from Dream Land 2 and Dream Land 3 in a far more anime way. Companion whose health is tied to you and provides a double-jump/float and its own set of copy abilities, though you can't hop out of it at will and its scope of abilities is a bit limited.

I remember Return to Dream Land apparently having a butt-ton of reused assets and ideas from the Gamecube game so probably that's what it eventually ended up becoming.

I don't know about "best", but to be honest, as a life-long Kirby fan it's hard for me to say which one is "best" because all of the major installments are of such consistently high quality.

I feel like some elements of Robobot (like the levels with two paths, or the circular-roomed boss fights) were done to test the waters for something like that. And to be honest, I really think it could work. Sure, a lot of powers would need to be reworked, but I think it would work.

I'm thinking of getting this but I thought if I played this now and then played Triple Deluxe afterwards the latter wouldn't feel that great. Is Triple Deluxe worth playing? Only Kirby games I've played through are Nightmare in Dream Land and Squeak Squad.

Before this came out I would have said yes, but looking at how much they improved from Deluxe you might as well just play Robobot.

I couldn't really get into Triple Deluxe, but for some reason this game sucked me in and I couldn't stop playing it.

It's definitely my favorite of the newer games since Return to Dream Land.

Super Abilities and Hypernova were boring, but having the mech around is like having a second set of powerups (albeit not for every powerup in the game).

The only thing I don't like is that you can completely heal yourself by getting in and out of the mech, but luckily you can only do that at specific stations. Although that's not exactly a good tradeoff since that really limits what you can do with it.

From an art-quality standpoint NiDL looks better but for the NES Kirby's Adventure looked fucking spectacular, still does things that NiDL didn't bother doing or replicating like Butter Building's rotating tower.

There's one or two but GBA netplay's insanely tricky to figure out, last I checked. You can get netplay going but it'll be slower than fucking donkey balls, ~5 FPS if that.

If I remember right it was something to do with the way GBAs link, they're four entire systems connected each with their own input and apparently that's a huge barrier.
