I cannot understand how some people say that this game is bad. I am playing the hard mode that is right under nightmare. This game is incredibly fast paced, the music is fucking amazing, the amount of fucking demons you have to kill in the game just get higher and higher as you progress.
It gave me a fucking great challenge, and there were points where I wanted to rip my hair out.
How could people not like this game? People need to drop the nostalgia shit they expected, because this was just fucking beautiful.

I mean, I guess it would be nice to have 12-20, but holy shit it gets bad sometimes. They would need to give you so much more ammo too and they fucking get lazy and one point near the end and just cluster a shit ton of ammo on the ground

Even Serious Sam 3 has more than 12 enemies at the same time in the first level. Don't blame the poor shithesda optimizations and game design on the systems. They can easily have more than 12 enemies at once but they didn't build the game for it and hence its not designed for that either.

nuDoom reminded me of Hard Reset (which is basically the Shadow Warrior remake sans sword).
The map "design" is corridors of arenas making for quite a tedious play. You just walk into an area, have a door lock behind you and then wipe everything before doing it again.
Theres a slight disparity in that HR had a somewhat interesting gun upgrade system but really all you need/want to do is get the thing that stuns/slows and then a bigger thing to do damage to enemies. nuDoom uses a more traditional approach but still relies upon going for glory kills to sustain yourself whereas HR is more traditional with its HP system in that you really do need to dodge and manage health kits.
Glory kills really needed to be rare or otherwise hard to trigger since its really too easy to just power through hordes of enemies using the massive sustain to just tank it all up. Kinda defeats the need to bother dodging. Particularly since few enemies ever attack in unison. At least with HR you had to take note of the environment in order to use it to maximum potential. You very rarely, if ever, were given substantial ammo or health packs and certainly no way to just get showered with them from a single kill.
