Underrated shit

Let's do this, Holla Forums.

Man, first game was some tactical stealth action stuff. Metal gear is stupid in comparison.

Agree completely, one of my all time favorites.

Get out.

Good fucking shit tbh fam
It had so much snark and graphically it still looks more amazing than any pixelshit, fog aside
What's the other one about tho?

It's a third person adventure with some elements of shooting, stealth and special powers.

it's about a man who wakes up in an hospital with extrasensory powers, he doesn't know wtf is happening and certain people want to kill him. When his memory is stimulated he has flashbacks from the time before he had the psi powers. The story alternates between said flashbacks and the mysterious present as he slowly understands his condition.

Powers get pretty rad with time.

I really wanted this game as a kid but I either couldn't find a copy or couldn't afford it, so I ended up reading the plot on GameFAQs. Really cool story, honestly something that would be worthy of a movie adaptation.

I bet this would've had more success if it didn't have that title, the first levels are really space comfy and memorable

Completely agree. I'm actually amazed how Free Radical managed to nail it even with their cartoony timesplitters artstyle

I highly recommend it, even if you got "spoiled" messing with the powers is worthy of checking it out.

Reminded me of Silent Hill 4

Free Radical had some of the most silky smooth animations, I honestly don't know how they did it. Every game felt like whipped cream on the tongue.

Silent Hill 4 is also underrated, Henry's dialogue that always seems high as fuck always gets to me on every replay

People have started to respect it more in the past years though, what with how bad the western games were

Too bad the game isn't as spook as its trailer

depending who youre talking to.

It's a good horror game, but a shit Silent Hill game. the entire 2nd half ot the game is literally backtracking the same levels again in reverse and Henry has NO EMOTION. Also fuck the inventory system. It should have stayed a side project like it was intended to be.

I thought that was just a quirk, much like how James Sunderland always talks like he's not all right in the head, but you're right, half the game being backtracking bundled up with an escort mission for its entire duration was a huge bummer

Its better than 2 at least, the whole franchise is just mediocre as fuck

Idk, portable ops maybe. Even though it shat all over the lore, the gameplay was good for it's time/platform and still had a great MGS feel with tons of ways you could fuck around in the environment.

R6 Siege I feel is also really underrated, but sadly there's so little to do in it and it has no sense of progression. You can easily unlock everything after your first few ranks, so there's no need to play it once it's done.

You might be shitposting, but dog days has some of the best fucking multiplayer and player feedback I've ever experienced.

nah.

I didn't mean that, I meant when the snow storm hits and you have to get in the mech and set up the support for the base, and get back inside on sweet space country music

No, Henry literally has no emotion. aside from his mouth, his face never changes expression. go watch cutscenes like when he finds what's her face all cut up. he's just like "are you ok?"

Yeah that's what I meant when I said he seems high as fuck all the time, all his dialogue is monotonous in the weirdest of situations, like noticing the telephone cord being cut 2 seconds after talking to somebody on it

I dunno, I always found that appealing maybe because I watched a shitton of horror movies around that time and I got tired of the gasps and screams the protagonist always makes, like Heather

OP wanted games people consider underrated. As shown here, those games are not liked despite being pretty good. Thus: underrated. A game that the community loves but it sold only two million copies instead of projected ten is not fucking underrated. Pic related.

The hell are you talking about? user said that Lost Planet 3 is underrated, whereas I disagree and believe that it got the reception it deserved. If I get bored of a game to the point where I turned it off after 15 mins, then I think it's pretty fucking shit.

He's talking about the 2nd post of the thread

...

If he's talking about a post that I didn't make, then why is he replying to me?

It's actually a fun little Diablo clone.

Shame it's really short though.

And repeative. Good atmosphere, though. Shame about no-sequel.

There was a whole lot of drama behind that title, mainly about their team leader making a whole lot of retarded choices IIRC

It's fun to think about what could have been, since they planned a big trilogy but the first title bombed so hard they just dropped everything, not to mention the lawsuit with Epic Games

I know a lot of people give this game a lot of shit because of the ZP episode but if there's one thing Yahtzee nailed it was the death animation complaint

Those death animations take way too fucking long.

Sure it's cool the first time, but then after seeing it another 20 times, it gets really grating.

I know that's what you're thinking, but it gets about as much flak around here as it gets praise for not being "The first game but better". I think it was a terrific game and everything from the music to the levels were top-notch. It doesn't deserve to get hung up behind HM1's shadow.

So you're saying that unlocking shit makes the game fun.

The sense of progression is pretty much half of what makes a game like that fun. I see no point in playing a game when I've reached my peak and have nowhere else to go aside from a pretty little number next to my name. Everything from end-game onwards is a luck-based battle against the awful matchmaking.

Honestly, user, in my opinion, HM2 was so goddamn bad that it ruined the whole series for me.

...

HM2 took everything annoying in the gameplay of Hotline Miami and amplified it to stupid levels.

I'm not bitching about the game being hard, I'm just bitching about the levels being a frustrating drag.

Actually I'm impressed how's no one talking about the motherfucking sequel made by a fan and already recognized as canon by Dennaton.

HOLY SHIT!

this was a pretty decent crash clone IIRC

Last I checked, there's an offline mode, user.

there will NEVER EVER be another game like that, except better

While we're on the subject of Looney Toons…

Stealth/Third-Person shooter from the devs of Timesplitters.

That's cool and all but is it free as in freedom?

Unhappily he is making in gm8.1 which doesn't have ports for linux. I guess he could open source the code, but it wouldn't be freedom yet since gm8.1 is proprietary.

That was probably the most deprived of fun I've ever been

...

I remember playing the PC version of that. Pretty fun, but I it was kind of short.

This game is the best racing game ever.

Pretty damn good. I played most versions and all I played were good, although I remember some being different.

...

Mi negro. That game was a delight. Many things about it are date, but at the same time it feels ahead of its time.
I also liked the twist at the end. You know the one.

Not-James Woods being eaten alive by a mob of mutant children was a bit much though.

When is it coming out?

Shit, I forgot the whole plot, I have to play this gem again.

18 august.

my friends used to be obsessed with this game because it was difficult as fuck
never understood why would they keep playing the same stage they always die on and never make any progress.

I beat this game without a memory card, or in other words, I had to start from the beginning in every run, I've beaten it like a speedrun even before I knew what a speedrun was.

I know exactly how your friends feel, it's just that fun.

is that zun?

spoilers:
when you find out the whole game was taking place in a vision of the future and you were unlocking your powers in the present. mind: blown

Yea.

fug, I really had forgot that. Guess I'll have to wait another decade.

My negro. This game was the tits on the DC. Excellent Crash clone. Its probably the last good non Crash game. Theres like a billion versions of it though, anyone tried the NGC or N64 versions?

...

Why these redditors think this is a unpopular opinion thread?

Got universally shat on by TA fans for not being TA.

I still had my fun with it, even though the faction balance was lackluster.

Also, the Iron Plague expansion was unfinished shit because the devs ran out of money and had to shut down the company.

I didn't know Second Sight was underrated. I thought everyone loved it?

Anyway, pic related was fun as hell. I used to play it with my brother and cousins quite a lot.
