If you were top mod of one of the larger radical subs on Reddit - /r/socialism, /r/anarchism, /r/latestagecapitalism, /r/debatecommunism, even /r/lostgeneration etc - what would you do with the place? There are so many "culture warriors" in that joint, both sjw's and alt-rightbros, and to ban them all would garner suspicion of more authoritarian bureaucracy. But to just leave it as it is is to keep a cesspool a cesspool.
I know someone who is a top mod in one of the larger subs and wonder if I could influence them. I usually would say just get the fuck off Reddit, but these are subs with tens of thousands of subscribers, so perhaps something interesting could be done.
Ian Gutierrez
I predict a natural backlash against idpol soon anyway.
Charles Collins
Delete it and go have a walk admiring the cattle in the field.
Lucas Mitchell
this. fake socialists need to leave. I suppose the same holds for leftypol tho. We've tried so hard to keep the idpol out that is traditionally associated with the left that there are a lot of "actually reactionary" leftists here now.
Dylan Harris
This is nothing. The web is full of fake statistics that are aimed, not at you, but at signalling to advertisers how many eyeballs they can expect.
10,000s of subscribers can probably pull in 100s of regular views for new content. However large your online community … it's nothing. Got mentioned in the mainstream media? … it's still nothing.
Enjoy discussing ideas with like-minded (and opposite-minded) people. Don't take shit seriously.
Thomas Davis
sounds like liberal utopianism tbh "one half of our ideological camp is too idpol, the other half is too reactionary"
Connor Peterson
This.
If you're going to influence him, you have to make him less prejudiced against "brocialism" in some way. Maybe subtly get some anti-SJW ideas in his head. When the backlash against idpol arrives, he'll be ready to cooperate.
Jaxson Evans
This tbh.
Ryan Bell
I see this backlash coming too. What's good is that he is an egoist, non-SJW, who has just sat on his mod account and found himself toward the top of the mod structure in a sub or two. He's already on-board with radicalism that does not consist of shitty identitymaoism. But to use his position to agitate this backlash is what I am thinking about.
Yes… everything is nothing, nihilo, zero. Perhaps I'll stare at the basement wall another hour or two. You have a point, but in my view, anything anyone gets involved with should be taken seriously, or else it is not worth getting involved in. /r/@ certainly educated me and radicalized me in many ways, it was my lumpen alternative to college. How those spaces are run is of some consequence.
Alexander Peterson
I still say it's nothing. People seek out communities to re-enforce their existing ideas rather than challenge themselves. (Just look at Holla Forums)
You must have already had curiosity about leftist politics before you went to seek them out. If someone is growing disillusioned with idPol they'd eject themselves from reddit pretty quick, and find a new place.
Jaxon Wright
Especially when we start seeing actual revolutionary movements, revealing actually relevant contradictions and actually doing shit, taking hold across the globe. In the meantime we should build such movements, with the people (who already mostly don't give a shit about idpol) and without these SJW fucks.
Colton Peterson
Can you not get us all cozy positions in power?
Matthew Mitchell
Cattle smell and they shit everywhere.
Samuel Myers
Found Stalin
Samuel Reed
r/socialism isn't that bad. It has as much class related content as this place bitches about the aut-right, identity politics, and cries about how there is no hope.
Caleb Gomez
Well, it's what SRS did. We'd be in a vastly better position next year if we attempted to infiltrate.
You're golden.
Levi Morris
Actually, we could do this, I'm certain, we'd just need a decent bit of strategy. To de-mod all the idmaos and unilaterally mod up a fuckload of random new accounts would be sketchy as all fuck, and would push away the minority of reasonable, cautiously-present rad folks in a sub like /r/@. You'd also have to somehow make /r/metanarchism or equivalent sub dysfunctional.
Noah Ramirez
G0VERNMENT actually left reddit and deleted her account because a mod got sick of her trying to make r/socialism into a safe space.
Ryder Fisher
Purge all the SRS mods from those subreddits, obviously, and then allow the use of trigger words to weed out the tumblirnas :^)
Also, I would disable the upvote/downvote option.
Zachary King
I would be strict as fuck and ban shit posting with extreme prejudice. Being a feminist wouldn't be an issue, being a "brocialist" wouldn't be an issue, but unproductive shit flinging between groups would be an instant ban. Discuss capitalism, socialism, etc - don't shit up the board with boogey men
Thomas Richardson
I can get us old accounts and will be buying up proxies and social media presence in the coming months. If things go well I could outright manipulate with paid shills and upboats. But this is resting on a couple of gambits I'm working on, and it won't be until the end of the year I start being able to just curbstomp the average person on internet presence. Aged accounts aren't a big deal though and can be done whenever.
What is this? Is Comet the dickhead, or G0V, or both?
I like the cut of your jib you absolute maniac.
Owen King
Damn, you mean that diabolical shit that the fash does? So long as we remember where our dearest "lefty Machiavelli" Alinsky took Obama and others, and approach the thing with some sense of strategy, seeking clear goals, this could be a thing I'd sign off on and try to make happen.
Luke Clark
Nearly all of the top mods are like the vanguard for id-pol. Oftentimes the community supports posts that have the slightest hint of criticism for bourgeois identity politics and the mods will just decide to nuke the whole thread and ban the user. I've seen it happen a lot.
Noah Reyes
You ain't shittin, I've modded /r/@ for probably 4 years and have seen it.
Gabriel Sullivan
The fash, SRS, goons, we're practically the only group not doing it because there's no capital incentive behind crashing the system with no survivors. Does your friend have access to any secret boards if such a thing exist?
What is this /r/@?
Jason Adams
/r/@ = /r/anarchism and yes, /r/metanarchism is private and has access
Liam Lee
Get him on full leaks. Make him pull a Snowden on those triggered tumblrinas. kek
Michael Ross
FOR INTERNAL PARTY USE ONLY comrade, it would be best seeing what we actually get before making a decision what to do with it.
Is metanarchism several boards mod teams or just the one?
Samuel Fisher
It's just the one. It's a cesspool of idpol maonarchists. I think it can be shut down easily enough, because there is an approved submitter list, and if everyone were demodded and all the submitters were unapproved, the sub would be a shell - and one wouldn't even need to be the top top mod to make that happen.
Joshua Allen
Fucking lol I had to make a little collage.
Wyatt Rivera
Like those people are a threat to porkey. Go ahead , get him to dox those liberals. Pic related, these people are porkey's friends.
Mason Roberts
Late stage capitalism used to be a pretty good sub, and some Interesting discussion took place there with minimum idpol. It's basically devolved into memes now. It'd probably be easier to affect than r/@ or r/socialism.
Jeremiah Perry
that was a word filter. What I was saying is now we've started to associate a lot more with generally more right-wing idpol like race realism, traditional gender roles, and nationalism
