It's good

It's good.

Oh gee someone on Holla Forums likes a shitty ass game nobody else on the planet likes.
What a shocking turn of events that is totally unexpected.

Yeah it's good, just have to get accustomed to the controls, which takes like 40 minutes.

Holla Forumss opinion on this game is split, not factoring company loyalty bias.

also post the star fox cartoon as say "WHAT DOES Holla Forums THINK OF THIS" and Zero Suit Fox, and we got your average shitposting of a starfox zero thread.

Yeah i know.
Now post Krystal porn.

Oh yes, and those 2 images arguing why the game is shit, and the image saying that the game is shit is also shit.

nice dubs thread
now check em'

You forgot to sage faglord

Controls were a bad choice. Since I don't think the game would have lost anything without them.

That said, the game was pretty fun. I feel like if it tipped off the player a little more to the alternate routes through the game, it would have been more obvious the replayability. You beat teh game and go "that was it?" not aware that you probably missed over half the missions in the game.

And the camera controls are enough of a pain in the ass that you don't really feel like it's as fun as it could be.

My biggest problem with the alternate paths is that you're not allowed to go down them until you unlock everything.

I get why they did it, the game is already overwhelming enough as is so you've gotta introduce shit slowly. But they shouldn't have given you the illusion of choice earlier on, nor locked out skilled players from going down the alternate paths either, considering how easy they are to go down in the first place.

I don't think the controls were a bad choice, and shit like the Lone Wolf fight wouldn't be half as good as they are without them. Honestly where this game shines is the previously weakest part of the series, the all range mode sections. What used to be a struggle to find and shoot everything while still flying properly is now a breeze. And the newfound spacial awareness you're provided with this allows for really fun shit, the Zoness mission goes from being the worst to one of the best when you're allowed the Arwing.

I get why they ditched the radar, because now you have the lock on, but they still shouldn't have done that, nor should they have arbitrarily restricted the camera like they did on a majority of the bossfights.

It's a flawed game, but I rarely see people bring up these flaws and most just bitch about the controls.
Which leads me to think that most people who hate it are just shit at it and refuse to git gud.

When I play Wind Waker HD & I need to aim with something the gyro allows minor precise movements which is handy. I didn't play much of Star Fox Zero, but it seemed to be like that except all the time instead of only when you need it.

Did people really have that much trouble grasping the controls?

So halfway through the game?

It's mediocre

Forced gyro controls and significant lack of content say otherwise.

Check these dubs out, fam.

Its mediocre.

There's a good game buried in there but its just dragged down by the horrendous controls.

Here you go.

You forgot the two biggest things missing from this game

Why has this post not been rectified yet

People seem to be really confused.

Star Fox never had any good games. Even 64 was absolute shit with no challenge that lasted 2 hours.

It's not like that. If it were just a matter of motion controls, no one would really have room to complain. The bad part is that you have to constantly switch back between the gamepad screen and your TV screen. If you focus on the TV screen, you will miss a lot of your shots since the aiming reticle only gives you an approximation of where you're going to shoot, and if you focus on the gamepad you're going to run into a lot of things and constantly lose your targets when they get out of the limited view.

It's unnecessarily tedious. If the TV screen showed you where you were going to fire like the gamepad did, there wouldn't be a problem.

Performing a barrel roll is also a huge pain in the ass, and the problem comes down to bad control layout. Turning your ship vertically is tied to the right stick, when it should be placed on the triggers. Firing should be on the A button, and lock on should be toggled on the left stick's click or the d-pad. There's no way to alter controls, nor is there any kind of option menu.

This isn't a case of Splatoon or Windwaker, where the controls are something simple that you just have to get used to, and will be an obvious boon to the player when they get them down. It's just an awkward control scheme that you have to learn.

It flopped, let it go. StarFox was always shit.

I'm not even a Star Fox fan, and I've only played a found rounds of Assault's VS mode and nothing else. But I'd sure as hell go buy 64 off the Virtual Console or get the 3DS port rather than buy Zero.

The NDF is the only reason it's split.

Did anyone enjoy Star Fox Guard? It seemed surprisingly good.

(Only bizarre thing I noticed was that in contrast to Zero, Guard has NO gyro controls, when it probably could have had optional motion controls like Splatoon. For all of Miyamoto's insistence on gyro controls (and optional gyro for 64 3D and the control stick inverting debate) it seemed like a strange omission).

Also SF0 would be an ugly, anemic piece of trash even with perfect controls, and I'm saying that after finishing it and checking most of the two-minute filler mini levels they have the gall to present as alternative routes.

Yeah it's quite fun, I've enjoyed it so far. Wouldn't pay for it though.

oh yeah, Zero is missing out other than multiplayer and proper controls

pic related, go pray to your god UndyingNephalim.

ever notice the small group of S'nP cucks going around crying why Star Fox doesn't play their undersold N64/Wii game?

if you love it so much, why didn't you throw your money to that nche game? bet my ass you've emulated it instead of getting it on VC.

Good rental, the gyro controls are okay once you get used to them but it's pretty shitty that there's no option for traditional controls.

...

Confirmed for never playing the game before. There's a target reticle on the damn TV screen you can easily aim with, rarely do you need to use the gamepad view.

Are people here such literal limp wristed faggots that they can't tilt aim while looking at a TV?

I play my console games sat in a chair with my feet up. I ain't moving. This game expects me to do that.

Just why people should buy the game then? I beat Starfox64 twice and then played the VS mode with friends every now and then along with Mario Kart and Goldeneye. Even Assault was worth it for the versus alone.

Christ those fucking designs

I loved adventures more than the first one, but I'm an adventure faggot so what do I know, right?

Andross as the final boss was really stupid.

Yes. It would have also been better if it was just dinosaur planet, without the starfox part, but whatever, I enjoyed the game.

A consensus is absolutely useless in an industry where Bioshock even considered mediocre.

No one has any sense of scale and every opinion is extremely skewed even at the middle.

Good, but lacking content. I still had a lot of fun with it, love how some of the secrets are handled(entering a boss for a secret boss fight felt so videogamey), but the lack of content is a glaring issue. Anyone complaining about the controls or balancing two screens is pretty casual imo. It was super easy for me to get used to considering I put quite a bit of time into TWEWY.

Sad that this will be the game that probably kills the IP, but then again, at least it won't be raped by Nintendo's increasingly "modern" business practices in the future.

This game was bound to fail since its first reveal.
The only reason why it got hype was because of Platinumtards.
These fags are truly cancerous.

Because it's a fun arcade shooter

...

The irony is thick.

Yes, but so is my dick for this hoe →

You actually unlock two training missions with an entirely new vehicle driven by Direct-i called the Road Master. It's a pretty neat unlock.

No, that is completely incorrect.

All levels have a high difficulty, there isn't an "easy" path in this game. The Walker is superior to fight him, there isn't a problem with that. You can even fly the Arwing if you want to.

Most mission accomplished requirements change paths but it is only a challenge on levels that don't have branching paths, in other words the path doesn't change back to an "easy" path if you fail the mission accomplished requirements because there isn't an "easy" path in this game.

Arcade mode lets you play all through the paths without unlocking levels. It's classic Starfox with scores for each possible pathway. It's the fucking bomb. Pic related.

It's not 90% but how is that bad at all. The bosses don't fight the same, they go for longer and the battles are intense.

They do play a major role in the story General Pepper explains how they made Andross a multi-dimensional being. There isn't a plot hole in them. It's how Andross moves his army. You don't have to unlock any portal in this game. All are available from the beginning.

Entire game is expert mode. Just try achieving the hit requirements.

No benefit in 64 either

Just neck yourself.

Motion Controls optional. You can turn them off and play exactly like 64. But git gud and use them.

Two paths to Zoness lets you use the Arwing instead. Only one path has the gyrowing.

The people defending this crap are the reason Nintendo keep making shitty games.

Kill yourself

-The game is disgusting

-the enemy are bland, weak, retarded

-The controls and gameplay is garbage

-The gyrowing is a joke dropped after 2 levels because Miyamoto is an hack and PlatinumGames realized it midway during development.

-The alternate paths are just mini games/mission with re-skinned boss.

I don't know if you are a shill or a manchildren but one thing is sure: Your lies will not save this shit game.

It's like rayman origins before they went multiplatform and created a good amount of salt.

One criticism that needs to be said (and can be seen in said picture)

Even though there is 19 different possible paths, the last 3 levels have the same fucking set of planets. (Sector Omega, Corneria 2 and "Venom").

While StarFox 64 at least had either Titainia, Macbeth, Sector Z then either Area 6 to Venom (Hard version) or Bolse to Venom (Easy version)

While I'll admit that changing the last 3 planets of SFZ would screw up the story, It just seemed bizarre that Nintendo didn't seem to notice they screwed up the level variation right at the end.

Another thing I didn't like about SFZ, the large amount of small levels with only Fox (and no other wingmen), couldn't they have substituted at least two of those levels and made Slippy/Falco playable like they did with Peppy for one level?

Liar

You're damn right there. It's a pretty big flaw.
Should also be said that you cannot play the separate levels differently they only have one path that you must go through and they don't change in any way. Feels damn tedious.

And people wonder why it failed hard for fucks sake why are people sucking Miyamoto's micro dick so hard when they know he will casualize and make the game as gimmicky as possible i know he's like the face of Nintendo but a lot of his current decisions have just been hindering a lot of games this shit needs to stop now it's just making them look like a joke

SF Adventurefag here and i agree even though i loved the game even with it's faults Andross was forced at the last minute and we will never get the true final boss fight with General Scales as it was originally planned

Everything you posted proves you never even touched the game.

Objectively false
Git gud, casual
More than the Blue Marine in 64.

Nintendrone detected

You can change your ID as much as you want, this doesn't save this failure of a game.

He's not even shilling the flopped game.
They're genuine refutations to your argument and you're resorting to attacking the character instead of the argument.

...

I liked the game but I don't remember well. Did he die in a cutscene or something like that right before Andross fight, right? I remember feeling cheated at the time.

-The game is disgusting
-the enemy are bland, weak, retarded
-The controls and gameplay is garbage
-The gyrowing is a joke dropped after 2 levels because Miyamoto is an hack and PlatinumGames realized it midway during development.
-The alternate paths are just mini games/mission with re-skinned boss.

Yes, General Scales died in a cutscene as Andross awakened.

Good thing none of those things are true, confirming you never even touched the game.

see

Nice arguments.
Everything is true.

You can't do that.

You can't fucking do that.

YOU CAN'T DO THAT YOU DUMB MOTHER FUCKER.

THERE ARE A MILLION AND A HALF PICTURES FOR DUBS CHECKING THAT ARE CONTAINED WITHIN ONLY ONE PICTURE.

IF YOU'RE GOING TO USE A PICTURE THAT'S MADE FOR A SET OF PICTURES YOU HAVE TO USE THE ENTIRE FUCKING SET. IF YOU JUST WANT TO POST ONE OF THEM THEN POST A DIFFERENT PICTURE YOU FUCKING FAGGOT.

YOU DIDN'T GET DUBS BECAUSE YOU'RE A FUCKING FAILURE BUT EVEN IF THEY DID YOU STILL WOULDN'T HAVE CALLED THEM BECAUSE YOU ONLY POSTED ONE OF THE PICTURES IN THE SET.

autism

Christ, are journos still salty over the hooker being fired?

Yep

I actually really enjoyed the game, but just about everything you said is wrong.

A fucking training mission and a minigame aren't good unlocks, the game is WAY shorter than StarFox 64, which had 3 separate paths, whilst Zero has only two, and most of the alternate missions are the same level with a different play style, portals felt underwhelming as fuck, Katt and Bill merely say one thing in their respective levels and don't even bother doing anything more in the rest of the level, whilst they were present in their entire level in 64, and you can't turn off the motion controls entirely, even if I didn't think they were that bad.

The game is good and I enjoyed it, it's just lacking in so many areas to be called great.

Thank you.

There are TWO mission with the Road Master and they aren't just simulations. They're on the Ice planet and they feel as if they were cut from the game

There are about 3 or 4 paths in total. It depends on what you determine the "paths" as but that chart shows all of them.

?

Bill actually helps you fight with his squad in his level. Sticks around to fight StarWolf if you fulfill the requirements.
Katt appears in 3 levels. (have you really played the game?)

1.
Don't use them. Then it's the same as Starfox 64 and you have to directly fly towards anything you want to shoot.
2.
Git gud and use them and it benefits you greatly.

I'm not calling the game a masterpiece just criticize it accurately. I think it needed to be simpler and have a different premise from Starfox/Starfox 64.

Why is Krystal in this? Is this a reboot?

Krystal isn't in Zero, you stupid cunt.

Just posting again to show that guy is not in fact OP.

its okay

>it was fun to me

I have yet to find someone in defense of this mediocre game who can actually explain why it's as good as they claim without some cop-out like "it's fun". Meanwhile, you have comprehensive arguments like where the only rebuttal was one guy typing over the picture with "NO THAT'S WRONG" and no explanation why.

Maybe Zero could pass for a Mario-caliber side game if Star Fox had just as many annual releases, but when the last original game was 10 years ago and the newest one is rehashing a game released 19 years ago, there's absolutely no excuse for how underwhelming Zero is. The soundtrack and vocals have no punch, the graphics are inexcusably poor (even for Nintendo; Mario Kart 8 looks fucking better than this), it lacks basic staples of the series like multiplayer, and it's a complete retread of 64's story without even switching things up like Zelda manages to do with every new retelling of "the legend". And all this is true without even saying anything about the controls (which are obviously divisive, but ultimately are just unfun as fuck). Nobody's even talking about this game anymore except to make bait threads like this.

But I'm glad people like you enjoy it, because it was exactly what Miyamoto wanted: for people who don't know shit about Star Fox to get into the series. Now you can reminisce about Zero years from now and how the series apparently ended on a high note, completely disregarding that it's a critical and commercial failure in the eyes of everyone else.

You fucking nigger, it has easily the best rendition of the Star Wolf theme in any game and the new Kat theme is pure sex.

I'm not even gonna disagree with most of the other shit because you're right on the money, with the exception of being another shitter who can't into motion controls.

Its only fault is that it is to short.

Everything you postedis wrong, get over it.

That, but it also has no business not having online versus.

Nope, none of these refute my arguments
Sure, m8

See

That sounds entirely stupid, and Command and 64 showed how Arwing only multiplayer is awful.

also
LOL

...

Hahahaha, get the fuck out of here with that shit nigga

...

...

Please go back to reddit.

Why are you pretending?

...

Defending this rehashed tripe on Holla Forums won't make Miyamoto thank you, user.

...

Not defending the game. Just refuting lies.
Game is okay. Not that great. But enjoyable.

By God, I dearly hope you're being paid for all that crap.

Neck yourself, son.

anti-Zero whinebabbies are trying way too hard paint the mediocre Zero as the Other M of the series while ignoring CUCKmand was the real franchise killer.

Guard's a fresh and new Star Fox game with a better metascore. why don't you go play that one?

oh yeah, your faggot ass' actually crying why they didn't rehash ASSault (which was the mediocre 64 rehash before Zero came by.) or made Star Fox more like the Treasure railshooter nobody but 5 people bought.

...

I dunno, considering how in touch Nintendo is with the internet that actually sounds about right.

No, user

It's just easier to claim someone is a shill than to backup your stupid lies.

What lies, I only said I hope they pay you for your desperate spinning.

You seem to be getting awfully defensive user :^)

Just stop posting.

...

Keep using that word wrong, I'm sure you'll have a point eventually!

The funny thing is I already have a point better than of your paltry "arguments": This game bombed. Your full-force Nintendronism is acting up because you feel your desperate posts will somehow save this game.

Too bad, you nostalgiafags wanted a 64 rehash, you got it. Hope you're glad people like you killed the series.

Reminder: the game plays much better when you hold the gamepad very high so you can have the screen you're not focusing on in your peripheral vision at all times. If you've never tried this and you complain about the dual screens, you have no right to bitch.

top kek

Nice sage from a guy with no argument.

You're still using "rehash" wrong.

It's shit, you fucking hipster.

Prove it
