I think the quirkiness, to say the silly and wacky nature of the characters and most of the events, is worthy of some praise. I think the more serious tone towards the end is also enjoyable, as well as the hidden 'lizard-dyke fucked everything up' plot point is a more bizarre twist than the fairly light-hearted game to that point could of hinted at.

The music is good, without question. The graphics are shit, but graphics don't matter all that much. The combat, while not exceptionally innovative in terms of actual gameplay, does something no other JRPG has specifically done before. The genocide/pacifist dual plot is also something that's not done often, especially not to a degree of changing the setting itself to have NPCs evacuate in fear of their lives.

It's ultimately a good game with interesting ideas and entertaining executions, and what's really pathetic is there are retards like you that think because a game is popular, especially with tumblr, that it's beyond redemption.

Graphics matter a little, but they don't matter a lot. You can enjoy a good dame on the SNES today, even though it's not highly-polished 3D high-res modeling. Yeah, Undertale kinda looks like shit, but Toby's primarily a musicfag, not a spritefag. It looked well enough to serve it's purpose; it's spritework, not spriteart.

Most games only have a good/bad option to morality; any more than that, and it's hardly a question of black and white, so much as shades of gray. That's not morality, that's being pedantic.

Fallout generally has multiple endings to their questlines, but the questlines are also self-contained, and generally don't have much of an impact on the actual ending of the game, eg shooting the vault leader or just leaving.

As someone who's been playing games, especially RPGs, for decades, i think Undertale is good. Not the best, but still enjoyable and even heartwarming. All you're doing is losing your shit over a game that's popular, because people you don't like are enjoying it. Much like Skyrim, really; a decent game that's exceptionally popular, so you get all pissy about it.

Except EB is miles better on every department, it has a top tier OST by a famous japanese rock composer (Keichii Suzuki) and a videogame music legend (Hip Tanaka), witty and fun writing by series creator Shigesato Itoi as well as references to bastions of american and western culture like The Beach Boys and Monty Python.
