TMNT Mutants in Manhattan

Do you guys think it will be any good? The gameplay I saw looks pleasantly different from Devastation, and at least the thought of four-player multiplayer sounds pretty chill, though not having local play is a bummer.

I haven't heard about it until now. I'm assuming it's a beat 'em up. I have Manhattan Project for my NES and I liked it a lot, but I wouldn't want to play a game so shallow anymore.

It's the third game made byPlatinumGames and using Activision's game licenses . The first one was bad and short, the last one (Transformers Devastation) was pretty good, and this one could be either of those two the way it's shaping up. Here's some game play if you're curious.

Any idea who they have doing the voices? I'd probably geek out a little if it were the cartoon or movie voice actors. If the RPG sort of stuff is easy to ignore as in Transformers I'll probably be cool with it, didn't feel like that really fit.

i enjoyed devastation, but this ones been flying under the radar and i've seen way little footage so i'm a bit skeptical even if it is platinum

also they're releasing it on the same day as overwatch which will put it even further under the radar

It looks just like Devestation. Nothing different about it besides the lack of rush attacks.

Also platinum has exhausted a lot of ideas regarding a DMC-like. They should at least try a game in another direction like something more similar to Ninja Gaiden or more games like Anarchy Reigns or Vanquish. Yeah I'm aware Star Fox zero is a thing but I've never cared for star fox and the game just didn't feel good for me.

Actually let me expand on this because I'm am kind of generalizing in saying that it looks exactly like devastation, because besides some shared combos and the graphics it doesn't.
But basically my gripe with the game is that you have teammates, which was something I hated about Devestation. Also switching between four characters for crazy combos might be shit depending on how spread out the turtles can be, unless there's something to guarantee the turtle you want to switch to will be nearby to continue the combo. From what I saw the levels looked kind of open world. Now this could be either super cool, depending on how populated these levels are with secrets, enemies and missions. But I will say that compared to devestation, the turtles have more options for vertical movement. Whether they can actually do something with that verticality is something I'm not really sold on, because these Activision licensed games usually just excel in combat and not much else(see length, enemy variety and naga segments of Korra, the top down and platforming and driving sections of Devestation).

I'm just not feeling as excited for it as I felt when Devestation was announced.

Also I'm kind of disappointed they haven't shown of Casey or any extra content to devestation with the flying cybertronians or deceptions.
