I just finished playing dead space 1 and here are my thoughts:

one was already dead the other was being escorted by an alpha nigger half the time and was armed

2 is fun, 3 is shit

Basically sums up my thoughts as well. It's scary if you've never played anything with horror elements before, but otherwise it's an action game with spooky monsters as the enemies, like newer Resident Evils.

2 fixed a lot of that, less invincible enemies, better zero-g mechanics, less repetitive "do 3 of X" bits.

I don't know how you could think upgrading guns isn't worth it though, literally the only shit you'll be buying the whole game is power nodes and suit upgrades and once you get a few nodes in most of the guns become completely insane.

despite the negatives about it, I still love it a lot. I recently played through it on hard with nothing but the Plasma Cutter. Needless to say, it was the most fun I've had playing a game in awhile

There needs to be more TPS games with horror elements, it's a tragically underrated genre. Also Dead Space was never supposed to be "scary" unless you are some retarded teenage girl, it's meant to be TENSE like RE4

I don't get how people can think it's good when the entire game is 'hey you've almost accomplished your goal! ..oh wait! there's another thing to do!' for 10 hours.
