So on a whim last night while drinking I purchased Battle Fleet Gothic.
The problem with this is I haven't done any research about the game and despite just releasing and hype for it, no one seems to be actually discussing it.

So anons, is it any good and should I refund now or wait.

I would refund it.

I purchased it upon release and while they nailed the grim dark 40k characters and atmosphere, I don't think the gameplay will keep you interested.

Unless you can put up with multiplayer balance issues, refund it.

Is the gameplay just shallow?
I played around for a bit, I thought the campaign was more of a sandbox then set missions.
Also how does skirmish and custom games work, they seem like singular games but have maint and upgrades in between?

I hate the focus on MP and the SP campaign is unfair on many missions.

Oh shit dude I didn't know we had a game guru here. What games do I like?

Well for the 20 minutes I played it doesn't seem to be that great either.
If you don't want to play campaign the only thing to do is to upgrade your ships fully.
I thought this game would have sandbox play or a campaign with sandbox elements.

If you like 40k and are okay with playing ocean-bound shipbattles on a star background its okay.
If you want SPACE, it will probably disappoint.

No idea about the MP I really don't give a shit about that part.

Probably shit one's considering you missed how user said "think" and not "know" but you went ahead and made that reddit tier post anyway.

Holy shit fucking kill yourself

OP, the game is an micro management intensive RTT.
Battles are pretty small 40K wise at least, devs are pretty new and the game has some major flaws due to time constraints and low sales expectations they have promised to fix them in their Road Map.

In my opinion the games fine besides some balance, but casuals and tourneyfags will always complain.
Each faction plays completely different
Campaign does it job but it nothing special.
MP (where most lf the focus is ) networking is inconsistent but works most of the time.
Theres a progression system and you can pick the ships and perks you want like a loadout so the beginning is pretty slow.

If its not your cup of tea refund it

Heres the roadmap

Dead in the Water General then. There's barely 600 people in game right now, and you can likely double the number at peak hour.

They need to update their fucking game.

This is my problem with Gothic and Mordhiem.
You are also responding to me both times faggot check IDs.
Is both games are flawed by some really obvious game mechanical flaws.

For example Mordheim is basically a coin flip simulator, everything relies on the RNG way to much, on top of that the AI gets advantages that you yourself do not get.
So ultimately skill isn't exceeding in battle but mitigating your poor chances.

From what I've played it seems to have an even less in depth single player experience then Mordheim.
Custom games and skirmishes are pretty boring as one only gives you random battles with random factions and you aren't actually interacting with the world.
Just leveling up ships, getting new ones so you can fight a battle that is scaled to your fleet.

Too late for that. People have already moved on, and they marketed the game on the single player, and the single player is a disappointment.

Also, I fucking hate how floaty every ship feels, there is no momentum or weight to anything.

Maybe they should have made an actual video game instead of a glorified rehash of the tabletop game. If people wanted to play the tabletop, they'd play the tabletop.

Nothing wrong with translating the tabletop into a video game. Problem is that they didn't even do that, this is just a barebones RTT game.

I was expecting something more substantial in terms of how you can upgrade, customize and control your ship, as well as from the storytelling and faction influence.

whats wrong with the multiplayer?

Where the fuck do you get this from ?
The singleplayer is fine and big enough.

Why is it every time, every single fucking time a game comes out we have threads hyping the game, just saying it will be the best thing since sliced bread.
Then when it comes out the generals die off in two days, and it comes out that this is why.

Fuck me, I thought the game would be a lot different based on what was shown, I thought it worked by traveling the galaxy encountering enemy fleets and picking and choosing when to engage, taking resources to upgrade at the nearest friendly world.

Well its ded, and from what I can tell Eldar seem to be OP, but that's only from steam bitching so it could just be salty players.

TAU
How is this supposed to work anyway? These guys can't travel through the warp so how does anyone ever encounter them?

Tau can achieve FTL. Unlike most other 40k races (excluding Necron) they "skim" on top of the Warp without really entering it.

Advantage is that you don't get raped by daemons. Disadvantage is that they are slow as fuck compared to everyone else.

Also, why in God's name did they have to introduce the shittiest faction? Why are Tau even popular among the normalfags?

Refund devs are faggots who listen to balancefags.

What are space marines fleet? I didn't think there was much discrepancy between Imperial forces and Space marines as far as ships.

I was hoping for Dark Eldar, Necron, or Tyranid.

Since when? They were always the weeb faction which is pretty much steams target audience now since they realized how many disposable shekels these people somehow have.

...

what are you trying to convey?

SM ships of the same size as IN ones are more powerful and, you know, full of very angry post humans.

Everyone was hoping for more interesting shit than the fucking Tau.

Every fucking 40k game getting released recently has received a lot of demands to include the Tau.

They're the moralfaggot faction, and multicultural communists, so it's no wonder they resonate so well with the average goyim.

Welfare was a mistake, that's what.

Floaty as fuck is a poor criticism when that's literally what the fucking things are supposed do.

I bought the game, couldn't get it to load past the starting splash screen then refunded it. 0/10 at least you got to play

Check the IDs proxyfag

They're floaty in all the wrong ways. It feels like they're skating on ice instead of floating in vacuum.

It just feels wrong watching them maneuver.

And then there's the issue of how simplistic the controls are. Why can't I order my ship to focus more power to void shields on one side? Why can't I divert power from one system to another to boost it? Why can't I tell my ship to stick to an enemy's ass?

And even without that the micromanagement is a fucking chore.

is this what you think is going on?

fair enough. i decided to look at the dev's past games, they must have some type of resume to take on a warhammer game.

oh…warhammer fans am i right?

what, are they the high reward micro intensive race again?

GW is just giving the IP to anyone and everyone. They've gone from not allowing any games to be made to simply not giving a shit.

It's likely another instance of their brilliant "we don't do market research lol" strategy and the fact they're bleeding money out the ass thanks to years of stupid decisions and greed.

They chemically castrate people. Not to mention the more complex moral implications of an entire civilization being controlled by pheromones.

Their multiculturalism is "Die for Israel" tier. How many aliens do you think are running around their capital cities? Plus Kroot are awesome anyway.

I'm pretty sure nobody has ever gone in depth into the Tau economic systems and their stances on private property so where the fuck does this always come from?

You have to bother with the lore far more deeply than a normalfag is ever willing to do. All he sees on the surface level is the one faction that isn't trying to shoah everyone else.

Exactly what the goyim have been taught to admire and support.

"Greater Good".

Three words Age of Sigmar.
The ONLY time they have sold well are the Orks, and that's because Orcs haven't gotten new units for quite some time.
Also what the fuck is with Orcs not riding squigs now?

It's not just Age of Sigmar, albeit that is a masterful example of what kind of braindead morons are running the company into the ground.

The near monopoly they've had for a long while got to their heads and they started being retarded cunts. Meanwhile the competition muscled in and picked up all the costumers they drove away with their kikery.

>>>Holla Forums

All leftists belong in the ovens. I never bothered to make a distinction between them, they're all filthy parasites and kike lovers.

Doesn't really matter what he sees if his perceptions are objectively false user. Then we just call him a retard.

I feel like you are just going to ignore anything and everything I say just to keep calling Tau commies and to bash on this mythical normalfag sub-component of the 40k fan base. If normalfags were truly so prevalent you'd see a lot more cultural marxist bullshit like spess muhreens with tits, not a race that that uses other races as disposable canon-fodder. Not to mention how pretty much nobody is buying models but the most dedicated grognards anymore, Age of Sigmar is what happens when GW tries to appeal to normalfags.

Is a phrase and battle-cry, not a book written by Karl Marx.

nearly every faction has a large appeal to normalfags. why would anyone in their right mind let that influence what their favorite is?

Please dont

Welp, you win NSA. It's gotten to the point where we can't even discuss make believe settings without calling eachother shills. Imageboards are dead.

It's also objectively true that CoD is a shit franchise. Never stopped the normalfags before.

Nothing mythical about it. 40k has been becoming more popular over the years, especially thanks to the exposure vidya gives to the setting.

Might as well be. This is the shortbus version of their ideology. They are all about collectivism and dying for the Ethereal kikes. And above them are the Eldar elders.

I can't think of any better analogy for Jews and communism.

I can understand every one of them other than Necron and Imperium. The former are shoah terminators and the later are space Nazis.

oh, im not having that conversation im done with it. i just dont want to point out to the more easily influenced that hes a silly billy.

Wat? Read my post again.
The fag you're replying to is obviously the same guy shitting up the autistic community thread.

That's true, Tau are fucking boring as fuck actually in Battlefleet Gothic. Despite the Tau having a wide ship variety they aren't really that interesting,

Dark Eldar would have been far more interesting due to reliance on Stealth and BDSM boarding rape and murder parties.

Also seems everyone that voted Tau seems to think Tau are long range snipers in Battlefleet Gothic? I don't think these fags have ever glanced at the tabletop before?

Hello.

Considering that Homeworld 2 had more exciting boarding mechanics that didn't boil down to "projectile, but with troops", along with flavor dialogue, I doubt they could implement it in any interesting way.

Then, if any of them are still bothering to play the game, we'll hear their cries of outrage.

wew lad

All kikes are Chaos worshipers, so no.

I never said they werent

I'm pretty sure that no High Lord could get away with shit like that, what with the Officio Assassinorum constantly watching over them, the Inquisition and the Custodes breathing down their neck et al.

They might be greedy and corrupt, but not traitors.

The Tau do have nice fliers They get to use fucking Manta's as fliers, Escorts and ship selection, along with guided torps but they are absolutely outclassed when it comes to capitals. If I remember correctly some Ork ships outshield a lot of Tau ships.

...

Where user? The only thing that's going to be coming out of Battlefleet Gothic are weeb tears when they discover that their precious Tau ships are squishy as fuck and are outranged by pretty much everyone.

Void shields don't have sides. Not everything is Star Trek, you faggot

That's what special basically commands are.

...

...

Why do you say that ? What I see in HW2 as boarding is just ships sitting next to a ship performing boarding actions. While everything is still.
In BFG the main ship would just ram them into oblivion and you can target the specific system you want to take down first along with upgrades to defend systems.

Personally I was really disappointed by the campaign map and the focus on upgrading ships for multiplayer. I was hoping for a 4x type of map maybe outside the campaign where you could explore a sector and try to conquer it's various planets and such, you could fortify them with varied defense platforms and uncover cool artifacts that you could research or equip to ships, and then have certain factions come after you depending on what you do like the Mechanicum or the Inquistion.
The boarding party system was also disappointing, but I can't really think or a why they can improve it.
I never played the boardgame
