A clever user might add two and two together, and write a paper along the lines of: "Is money creation a monopoly, and are we suffering under a monopolistic regime of money-pricing?" One curriculum required algebra 1 for math Nebraska I think was the only one I found that required 1 semester of calculus. One masters program had zero science related course but a course on how to get money for them studies. I would assume physical chemistry should be high on the list of a course you would need to study the interaction of heat on solids or gas but nope guess again.

Research depends entirely on the university. If you get a BS from small college in the middle of nowhere then you're not going to have much opportunity to get into that sort of thing no matter what field you pursue. On the other hand, if you enroll in a private research university, you might already be getting internships and research jobs out the ass before you've even reached junior year, and could very well have peer-reviewed articles published before graduating.
