What does Holla Forums think about this show?

I'm really interested in what actual leftists think given the shows narrative

Yeah, well, SO IS YOUR FACE!

I stopped watching halfway through second season.

The actual show is pretty good, I like the realistic hacking part

It's not really marxist or anti-capitalist, but it's definitely left-wing

Don't watch it for leftist ideas, it doesn't go into them very far. Watch it because it's a good show.

I like it. But it's pretty retarded.

I stopped after they ran unknown applications that connect to a live network, monitored and super-sekrit government, (and they knew this) un-sandboxed. That was about all I could take. I think that was in one of the first episodes.

It might even have been the first. I can't recall. It also just seemed more heavily toned into the whole "Stop the corruption", but with no mention of capitalism or class consciousness. The whole 'it's corporatism'. Maybe I'm wrong on that, as I obviously didn't watch much further into the show.

I hate those Anonymous kiddies with their stupid masks, that's 9gag tier. And this show panders way to much to them

Maybe the writers are hiding their power level?

the writer is openly porky though

Don't be fatuous about TV shows, no matter if Hollywood or not. The writers have to present their station or network a concept and they would never get approval if they would start to rant about Marx or Hegel. TV and movie writers being slick entryists is a right-wing conspiracy.

I've finally figured it out. You people just love being victims of porky oppression.

There are no TV shows presently that advocate anything resembling socialism, or communism or even entry-ism, in the US Media.

The US "revolution" shows are perpetually stuck in the battle against the aristocrats, where the rebels are… the capitalists. The answer to the implications and symptoms of capitalism, is more capitalism, and they're always displayed as being "not capitalism".

All rebellion shows, show 'entrepeneurs fighting for the liberty and freedom! to… be free agents, in voluntary exchanges, in the perfect market…', and the enemy is always "a total monarch"; and the link between a capitalists' private tyranny is never linked, to this. Just some sort of dogmatic adherence to monarchies, and religious beliefs.

They're constantly rebelling against enemies, that no longer exist, and excusing away all their failures of the economic system that they propose as having nothing to do with the economic system that they propose.

It's not "Full commie, or bust!", it's that it's not even touching upon the reason for why things are the way they are, while constantly blaming commies, and monarchs that no longer exist, for the degeneration of capitalism into its cannibalistic neo-feudal state.

it's bad and full of cringy dialogue

it would be better and more relevant if it was made back in 2011 when the occupy movement was big

The fake movie where the main character gets the mask from is literally called Careful Massacre of the Bourgeoisie

Have you even seen the show? That's the complete opposite of Mr. Robots plan. youtu.be/16sPqUYscrI?t=1m3s

With that being said, I don't know how to feel about this. The show seems pretty left-wing. With the Careful Massacre of the Bourgeoisie reveal in Season 2, I might even be inclined to say that it's Holla Forums. But the way it's presented, with it being very mainstream and winning many Emmy awards, tells me something else.

My partner loves this show and thought for sure I'd love it too because of he internet culture references and its anti-capitalism, but fact is the dialogue and soap opera-esque side stories just put me off of it completely. Also I really dislike the main character's face, he kind of has the same expression all the time.

Things that would improve the show:

1. Cuter main character. Preferably nonwhite, but needs cute, shaggy, unkept hair.

2. Actually use the words "capitalism", "socialism" in the show. I never see those words used on TV.

3. Less shit TV writing. Imagine if someone with unique talent and vision directed this instead, like Vince Gilligan or David Lynch.

I would love this show if it weren't so bad. I can't wait til the network exploits it and starts selling SCARY HACKERHOODIES w/MASK COMBO™

It would be a good show if instead of a corporation like E-Corp holding all the monopoly on pretty much everything in the world the show actually presented things like it is in the real world with not just one corp but with full capitalism fucking things up. The show tries to pass a liberal message that the problem isn't capitalism but just corporativism.

Its not a bad show. Its getting a lot of plebians into the idea of taking radical action against the system. Its entryism.
