Even accounting for the short time Zero has been released, it's on track to be the absolute worst selling Starfox game ever, if you don't count Guard which is bundled with the game but sold separately digitally.
This is the final nail in the coffin for the Starfox Franchise, if not also franchises like F-Zero and Metroid that Nintendo also doesn't understand the audience for. It's just Zelda, Mario, Pokemon, and super-duper golly-wolly censored fire emblem from now on.
I'm convinced that SF64 is the best game in the series. Can anybody prove me wrong? I feel like I need nothing else if I want to play SF, and yes, I've played every entry to date. What I mean is if this is the end for the series, I'm okay with it.
Furries would have ruined it more anyways.
Hudson Green
Well, Rip F-Zero, its just zelda and mario form now on
this is their fault too, everyone wanted them to make a fucking starfox game with no bullshit, BUT WE GOTTA HAVE THOSE MOTION CONTROLLLSSSS!!! XD
Nicholas Green
Great, maybe if Nintendo takes a severe beating for the next 10 years they will try and fix themselves. Still waiting on that worthy sequel to Starfox 64 tho.
Dylan Wilson
...
Parker Wright
There's no real competition. SF SNES has arguably better aspects to it and is also worth mentioning, but 64 (especially the original version rather than the 3DS release) is hands down the best game in the series.
Assault would have been good had it not had so rocky of a development and had nintendo kept their hands off namco's project, command is a love it or hate it deal with fucking abysmal writing and a frustrating timer mechanic.
Adventures isn't really a starfox game, more of a zelda clone with a starfox skin with some of Rare's worst habits mixed in.
64 is clearly and definitely the best.
Jonathan Johnson
hahah, how are the furries taking it?
Jordan Long
in the ass? why would they care if they are still getting porn
Ethan Clark
Hmmm maybe, but remember even Other M ended up selling over 1.3 million copies, and that was with a horrible reception.
Nintendo titles don't usually stop selling after the first few weeks. Then again, the Wii U may change that.
Julian Adams
There was a burst of Fox x Falco, Fox x Wolf, and Krystal porn for about five minutes before everyone moved on. I think the "A Fox in Space" animation got more attention from furries than the actual game.
This. It's being done by Fredryk Phox, a furry animator from the early days of the internet. It's actually pretty decent if you can forgive the voice filter thing.
Thomas Adams
user is referring to a YT short by some faggot. Admittedly, it has an interesting style and voice acting, but furries flocked to it almost immediately.
Daniel Jackson
Though this isn't surprising regardless, at this point anything released on the Wii U is an automatic death sentence barring exceptions.
I'm really glad a Metroid and F-Zero never released on the Wii U since that would also kill them even more.
Ryder Cruz
Krystal porn has been on the decline for years, Zero Suit Fox has been the only noteworthy thing to happen lately for Fox porn. Nobody cares.
Lincoln Ramirez
No, it's literally the best, it's a real shame that Kamiya didn't get to direct Starfox Zero, I think he's practically made for it, It's understandable that Starfox 64 is one of his favourites, elements from it pop up all his games, the more I think about it the more I think Starfox 64 had quite a large influence on his works, he's probably spent the last 2 decades designing the perfect Star Fox game, it's probably all in paper in his apartment, all the plot points well though out, the gameplay polished in his mind, instead we get Star Fox Zero and Scalebound.
Hudson Robinson
Gee I wonder why. Time for more amiibos to make up for this lose.
Jace Flores
and yet Fast racing NEO sold well just because there was nothing to fill the F-zero void
and that game is a Digital only WiiU exclusive in a genre that is pretty much dead.
Dylan Robinson
Other M had a 67% dropoff in sales for the first week. Star Fox Zero is still worse off, but I'm pretty sure it will at least pass half a million.
Mason Lopez
...
Andrew Smith
What a shame. Could've been one of the best games this generation, but Shiggy Diggy was insistent on the shitty motion controls. The lack of content was also a huge bummer. They should've added all of the arwing stages from 64, Assault and SNES and doubling the number of brand new stages from 11 to 22. Shiggy Diggy was probably insistent on rehashing the layout from 64. Either way, while I personally loved the game, there is a TON to be desired.
Luke Powell
Welp, that's it for Star Fox, I guess. Good night, sweet prince.
Landon Lee
Cause Nintendo hardly bothered to even promote it?
Seriously, this game could have easily made more by now regardless of quality.
Evan Lopez
Are you retarded? Star Fox Zero sold poorly because it was shit, Splatoon sold 4.5 million copies, any game can sell well if it's good and the market is there, the market was there for Star Fox Zero to boost a mil, it was just too shit a game with nothing going for it hype wise.
Levi Howard
Assault was still pretty fun
Daniel Johnson
Yup, that's another issue. NoA is incompetent as all fuck. They waste their resources on promoting Mario, Zelda and Pokemon. Reggie needs to be given the boot.
Kayden King
People would have survived with the motion controls. I think it's all the other things that have happened with Nintendo during the Wii and WiiU era that made most people leave Nintendo, a number of them star fox fans; also adding onto that giving star fox the sonic treatment where there are now three different audiences asking for something from this game that can't be done with one game.
I think for Nintendo it's starting to become a little too late to bring back dead IPs, because the audience is moving on.
how do you kill a dead thing even more?
Blake Martinez
They didn't seem to slack off in promoting Splatoon.
I'm not sure why NoA didn't even try with this game.
Matthew Cox
the only reason Splatoon sold so well is because of the global test fire, as soon as NoA saw the numbers they started using the Mario machine.
Andrew Rivera
At first I thought it'd be some furfag horror, but then it turned out to be sfw. But it was still fucking gay.
Lincoln Wright
fucking sell them then. give F-zero to Sega like before, maybe they could get Sumo Digital on board instead of AV.
Thomas Baker
It has a CHANCE of beating Star Fox Command then. It has a chance of outselling the single most hated starfox game there is, and no chance of outselling the 3DS remake of Star Fox 64.
Agreed completely.
Nintendo animated a full 15 minute short to promote the game.
Careful user, saying that Assault was pretty good will get you drawn and quartered on Holla Forums.
Seriously though, Assault was okay, especially on the hardest difficulty. Not a masterpiece like 64, but on-foot and switching between arwing and landmaster is a logical progression for the series to take. If that had been implemented better, if it had been given bigger and online multiplayer and had the story not taken a nosedive into the ground around the time Pepper doesn't die after begging you to kill him, it would have been good.
People bitch that Krystal was furfag bait, little do they understand that furries have masturbated to Star Fox since the nintendo power comic, and the gay shippers want Krystal out of the games the absolute most, like total assblasted fujoshi.
Ryder Morris
also give Custom Robo back to Kohji Kenjoh.
Juan Wright
are you guys serious? why do that
WHEN YOU CAN BUY AMIIIIBOOOOOS!!!! AMEEEEBOOOS AAAAAAAGGH!!!!
or theme parks, cards, sextoys, and other paraphernalia
Evan Williams
oh yeah I'm retarded! what would nintendo do without LE FALCUN PUNCH MEME MAN in smash :^) Buy the fucking ambiioss!!!
Hudson Martinez
A man can dream.
Zachary Russell
Mario will always be around and for good reasons as it's one IP that is so versatile it can generate loads of titles of different genres. For every ill-received Mario game, there's at least two or three that get good scores and sales.
F-Zero is dead already
Fire Emblem, regardless of how you feel about Awakening or Fates, was still rescued from obscurity.
Star Fox has been in limbo since Assault.
Kirby is still pretty good for the same reasons as Mario.
Splatoon is hot.
I can't think of any IP's that could reasonably be put to rest except maybe Star Fox & Metroid. As much as I'd like to see Zelda buried at this point, it ain't gonna happen
Justin Parker
The "Toys to life" (amiibos, skylanders, disney infinity) market is dying hard almost overnight, user. Nintendo will probably leave it soon too.
Easton Rivera
Splatoon had stuff going for it, it sounded different, it looked different and it played different from games in the same genre, it was a hit with the developers and at show floors, Star Fox Zero was a flop at E3 last year garnering a lot of criticism from those who played it. you do the math.
Either way Nintendo still have no clue what they are doing, Splatoon a new IP sold to more than 1/3 of the WiiU owners, it's ripe for multi media cross promotion but Nintendo is just too retarded to realize what is sitting in front of them to push Splatoon as a killer app. Nintendo is Nintendo's worst enemy.
Yeah an while people care about Star Fox they didn't care for Star Fox zero.
Elijah Lee
Is that the radio guy from P.T. as Star Wolf?
Sebastian Brooks
I'd love to see proof of amiibo sales plummeting but I think the thing that skylanders and Disney Infinity didn't have are children blinded by nostalgia with their own income
Charles Lopez
Are you fucking kidding? Disney Infinity 3.0 was all Star Wars toys. Do you know how many boba fetts they probably sold?
I don't have proof of amiibo sales plummeting but everyone else is leaving the market, I can only imagine Nintendo is turning tail soon too.
Xavier Morris
Nintendo was in decline for a while now, Wii U, Iwatas passing, Treehouse/NoA censoring ,mobile and amiibo shit were just the nail in the coffin The fanbase is mostly composed of hipsters and absolute casuals, bigger ones than the ones on the Xbone and PissPoor. Im sad to say this, but leave while you can.
Aaron White
...
Blake Evans
What crash? Last year we've got Endless Legend, the best 4x in a decade. We're getting a new Serious Sam and Shadow Warrior which may be goat FPS games. Witcher 3 was finally a good AAA open world game. Terraria is due to get a big ass update, too. etc
Gaming has never been this alive. Sure, not every game is the original Fallout. But things are going great.
Ethan Ortiz
I'm pretty sure those Callie & Marie Amiibos are going to sell pretty well. Amiibos are probably the only toys to life product besides possibly Lego Dimensions that will stay because they are simply items to gain extras and are similar to the kind of merchandise Nintendo has always sold. It's not like this is the first time Nintendo has made toys (they are a toy company), the production of Amiibos and the small functions they provide are not exactly expensive and they function more as collectibles first and video game accessories second and they don't add too much to the game that people are turned away from the game just because they can't afford the Amiibos since the Amiibos are non-essential. A lot of people who don't even have a Wii U also get them cause they're just cute little statues of Mario & Friends.
The problem with Disney Infinity was that no one really understood it and it was a money guzzler for you to fully enjoy. I've had people come into a store and ask me what the hell that thing is supposed to be and I'm not even an employee. Amiibos are in fact pretty genius from a marketing standpoint. Disney fucked up with a gimmick that Lego was able to do much better. Nintendo, surprisingly, in this case, avoided gimmicks and opted for simplicity by having them just give you little extras.
Lincoln Lewis
Its not crashing, the 2nd crash hypothesis was never realistic. Its just mutating. Some for the better, most for worse.
Andrew Robinson
It was decent but both it and MGS were still very dissapointing and not up to good standarts.
Sage for offtopic
Mason Foster
are you serious nigger? need i say more? oh yeah FUCKING NINTENDO IS HITTING AN ALL TIME LOW.
Isaac Hill
and disney paid the price for their jewness. completely backing out of gaming altogether.
Henry Morris
PC gaming is filled with great games, like the ones I mentioned.
Easton Hall
Disney Infinity competes with Marvels/Star Wars/Disneys own merchandising which doesn't rely on the purchase of a game system and a game to enjoy them, Skylanders characters aren't recognizable outside of skylanders. Nintendo just announced a whole new line of Splatoon Amiibo, this could be poor Business sense something Nintendo are very good at or their market not having the toys rally around a single lackluster title who's main gimmick is the toys itself making their toys seem more valuable to customers, similar I think with Lego Dimensions where you get lego figures that can be used with your lego as well as the game.
Parker Evans
Your're forgetting about all the exclusive and AA games coming out If anything these console ports are a good thing since Nips now have a platform to fall back too if home console never rerecover from mobileshit and panchinko.
Nolan King
of course it is, its fuckin pc gaming. we've got shit from the past and shit still coming in. but look at steam's main store page alone, try pointing out at least 5 ORIGINAL games that aren't a shameless COD clone, shitty F2P, shitty "le funne bad game meme", minecraft clone, and ect.
Julian Anderson
It won't be a full on crash but it will definitely fall harder than it has. We're already seeing an over saturation of independent titles, but it's going to get even worse than before
Benjamin Adams
There's not reason for me to look at steam page 1. Those don't affect the quality of relatively new games you should play.
Adam Perry
only reason i mention it is because the over saturation of bullshit makes it REALLY hard for any highly rated yet hidden gem indie games to get noticed. the only games getting noticed and wierdly enough, bought are the shitty "eroges" and meme games as i said. for every one good indie game that gets put on steam, another 10 eroges are put out and selling even more every day. how the fuck even.
eh only reason i say full on crash is because it SHOULD. fucking get these casuals and retards out of my hobby muh sekret club. an user recently made a really good point about why an all out crash should happen and what good could come out of gaming becoming a small, exclusive hobby again, but i'd have to dig.
Nathan Long
More specifically, Nintendo of America is Nintendo's worst enemy.
Nintendo of Japan took full advantage of all the people who fell in love with the Callie & Marie characters for instance and we can probably expect several more squid pop holo concerts in the future. They take risks and take advantage of more opportunities in the Japanese market when they see them. The marketing department in Japan feels like it's smarter than it's American counterpart
I feel like Reggie and the heads of NoA are disconnected and I get weird Sega vibes from Nintendo and the Wii U feels like the Nintendo's Saturn and Reggie is starting to look like Nintendo's Kalinske.
Dominic Cox
Xenoblade Chronicles X and Fire Emblem Fates killed the Wii U among other games
Gavin Davis
Stellaris, Battlefleet Ghotic, Graviteam Tactics, Euro Truck Simulator. Theres a bigger audience for niche games on PC and handhelds, you should know this by now.
Chase Fisher
A crash would get a lot of the stragglers out, but nothing would stop SJ types and jews from jumping on the ashes and rebuilding them how they see fit
There were a few employee reviews posted about NoA that basically said Reggie and the rest of the big names are completely disconnected from the fans, no idea what site it was though
Justin Wright
Nintendo of Japan is letting their branch company run around doing this shit and harming their brand.
NoJ's is still at fault
Tyler Reed
hard to tell underneath all the filth i just mentioned. totally forgot that was a game considering i used to see it around often until eroge suddenly became the cool thing to put on steam
Brayden Peterson
I'll say this, it was relieving to see disney infinity 3.0 get completely fucking blasted on steam when it was released. Though there was still just as many retards that bought into it.
Chase Bell
People who keep pining for the 2nd crash are going to be disappointed. The 1st crash was really only relevant to the console market, so unless you exclusively play on consoles, it probably won't matter.
Eli Myers
THIS. One of the clusterfucks that DI had was having toys being locked to certain portions of the game, and having to buy every toy in a given series to get all the unlockables for the toy box, which was really fucking money grubby of Disney, it make other Toys to Life look like good value in comparison.
Now imagine a store employee having to explain the above to a confused parent and try to sell said product with a straight face. And then find out your kid doesn't even like or touch the Toybox mode.
Some of you might not know, this but there is a 3DS version DI, that plays like a crappy Mario Party game. The game was sold with the same game feature descriptions as the consoles versions even though it didn't have the same features. I think Amazon even pulled that version due to complaints from buyers.
Noah Hill
Usually with the companies, the different branches depend on the other to know what they're doing
For example, if Nintendo of America tells Nintendo of Japan that Treehouse is helping the game sell, then it's not really Nintendo of Japan's place to say they don't know what they're talking about. Among the Japanese headquarters, I think there's a reluctance to can the heads of the foreign branches until they REALLY mess up. As long as Reggie can get away with blaming everyone else but himself, which he probably can for awhile, Nintendo isn't gonna get rid of him. And chances are, Reggie will not be replaced until he chooses to step down. If we're lucky, when he does that, he won't leave a corpse like Kalinske
Also, most consumers didn't even notice it when it happened.
Levi Powell
The indie market appears to be working exactly as it should be, there are games that sell, and games that don't.
People have been saying Enter the Gungeon is pretty good, 300k sales at $15 a sale minus Valves cut, that's like 3 mil before taxes, that's a lot of gunny, and it's only been out a month.
Holo concerts are good for fans and work well in Japan because it's tightly packed like canned dolphins, Nintendo should be slowly reaching for a larger markets with a fucking cap set so it doesn't overextend and prematurely kill the IP.
Nah, they just helped kill them here, Xenoblade X is just behind Xenoblade, Fire Emblem Fates is still ahead of Fire Emblem Awakening, and still well ahead of historical Fire Emblem titles, it's already the second best selling FE title on top of that it's a 3ds title.
What actually killed the WiiU was the period between June 2015 and January2016, shit E3, shit releases for the remainder of the year and no fucking Zelda. well the WiiU was already dead but it halted it's momentum which could not be observed by the human eye but elements of it could be observed by intricate measuring instruments.
Are these reviews reliable, can we eliminate any bias from the reviewer who may hate Nintendo/reggie for other reasons and just wanted to write a scathing review.
The ability to make games of value will stop them from rebuilding.
Angel Richardson
Well by 2nd crash I think most of us mean when Consoles die That's happening soon
Kevin Robinson
It was Glassbox or Glassdoor that had the NoA job reviews.
Xavier Nelson
consoles are still important for many reasons though mainly because too many triple a devs and the like are too stubborn and or retarded to move to pc though. mainly i feel because of simplicity and ease of access. at least the average person that just wants to sit down and fuckin game can do so, unlike on PC that requires setting up/updating drivers and the like/setting up your controller if teh game doesnt support dinput/ect ect..
jesus fuck imagine all the poor saps that had to do exactly that
Robert Stewart
can you confirm that with Nintendo? I'd place my bet on the fact that NoJ can say they don't know what they're talking about true. Japan doesn't really fire their own people so what do they do when they want to fire a person outside of their country and culture.
They could have cared less at that point because video games were so shit and derivative at the time, the majority knew it wouldn't be worth looking at
Colton Allen
isn't gaming a big part of tech? and isn't tech the last thing holding the US dollar, and by extension the global economy, up?
could the gaming crash cause the first global recession?
Hunter Ward
NAH now thats blowing it way out of proportion.
Jason Lewis
Tech is well beyond games, games are the biggest entertainment platform in terms of revenue I think.
Jackson Rodriguez
Ya'll niggas really need to stop romanticizing dudes like this. That's creepy as shit. You sound like a faggot and your shits all retarded. No game developer spends half their life designing their perfect dream game that belongs to another company that they have no rights to. Dumb fucks.
Ayden Turner
I wish.
Ryan Carter
Well, why else would they not have replaced Reggie by now? The only reason Reggie still is there is because he has seniority at this point
They CAN, but what I'm saying is that it's not exactly good manners to tell somebody else how to do they're job, unless they're a scrub. Reggie has been with Nintendo for awhile and probably can say the American market literally likes to eat shit and the Japs will probably just say "okay, if you say so."
The Japs might also feel nervous about assuming they know how the American market works. Japs are always comfortable working with what's familiar.
Nathan Foster
Xenoblade Chronicles and FE: Awakening had severe production number issues People didn't like the sever amount of censorship and left
Elijah Cooper
In other news, water is wet.
Jack Parker
Checked
Luke Howard
pretty big numbers
Blake Martin
"Your game failed, Miyamoto, from now on, you will take orders from me and you will NOT deny them."
"Your position will be given to different developers in charge"
Hype?
Who was responsible for star fox?
Also, look at this picture, this picture was taken less than a week ago, You can feel the disappointment.
Checked.
Bentley Campbell
now when the fuck did he say this?
Oliver Scott
We already had a second crash in 1983. The first one was with the Pong consoles in the late 1970's, which only Atari survived.
Nolan Parker
I'm making shit up.
I'm just assuming that. It's why I asked yo.
SOMEONE is gonna be the old classic failed game fap slap
Lincoln Clark
Do you honestly think employees at Target or Walmart even knew how that worked?
Ethan Mitchell
Disney Infinity doesn't compete with anything anymore, Disney killed the line and removed themselves from game publishing recently.
Ethan Davis
They fired the development teams too, not just backing away from publishing.
Ayden Bell
You know they've being caught making up numbers right? Which is why no one with any sense quotes them.
Josiah White
*get
not 'be'
whoops
Jackson Cruz
Who the fans or developers, I'd like to see proof on both sides, we really can't know until the game sales completely drop off both titles.
Luis Baker
I'm not saying they should bring holo concerts of the squid sisters here. I'm just saying that the Japanese branch seems to have a better understanding of the Japanese market than the American branch does of the American market. As soon as Japan saw that Callie & Marie were hits, they took full advantage of that to "bring them to life" and use them to further promote Splatoon even a year after it was released, cashing in on trends set by other virtual idols. And I wouldn't be too surprised if the two characters eventually become new extra faces of the company in Japan if things continue to go well for the Splatoon IP. NoJ is at least trying.
Meanwhile, Nintendo of America allows Nintendo Treehouse to set game localization back decades with retarded decisions despite the backlash from many Nintendo consumers themselves. And a Star Fox game goes underpromoted despite probably being more appealing to Americans raised on talking animal cartoons. And NoA is hardly trying to further promote Splatoon anymore despite it's popularity among the fewer Wii U consumers in America. I don't think Reggie cares anymore and the sooner Kimishima realizes he needs to go the better
Brody Bell
I'm pretty sure that was following Iwata's death in 2015
Aiden Cook
That's because it was fairly shit.
Good. Star Fox 64 was a perfect game, and there's no way to ever improve upon it. Even trying to make another Star Fox game is an insult to the franchise.
Grayson Rivera
...
Carson Myers
Feels good that furfox will fall into obscurity and disappear forever.
Xavier Kelly
Indeed they did.
Except with upgrading the visuals from shit to good, adding a proper orchestral soundtrack and adding more levels without bells and whistles.
Noah Garcia
Developers never cared for the Wii U and the Nintendrones never cared for 3rd party Dev on the Wii U, but they got pissed when things got censored
Michael Allen
Nah.
Just means they'll have less drive to make one if chucklefucks like you constantly complain about not getting a star fox game. Almost the only reason they made it is because criers were constantly shitposting about it.
There is still interest in giving us F-zero and Metroid games, however after this I honestly don't care what happens to any of them. The retarded people in the fanbase of each has basically made me sick of them.
If it continues to be a slow burner and if they push to release some DLC for it we could see a pickup of sales.
Luke Nguyen
they're basically all we got. America only requires quarterly sales statements and EU doesn't even require that. Japan is the only one that requires weekly sales numbers
The guys behind VGChartz are pretty shitty but they are industry insiders
Jacob Hall
I was giving reasons for why Disney Infinity may have failed an Amiibo may have not, someone else gave even better reasons related to the actual game which I didn't know was so fucking kikey.
Mostly agree, but I think NoJ isn't trying as hard as they could, a better job than NoA but still below par.
It's a nice opinion but you didn't say much, we've gotten to far out of hand here anyway, I wasn't talking about the developers, I was just confused when you said they left, fans clearly didn't leave, and it's too early in these games releases to even insinuate this so I thought you meant the people who made these games left over censorship in other countries which I had not heard of. FE Fates is still selling and hasn't gone through a holiday season in the US or europe yet so we don't know what effects censorship had on it's sales, and it's retarded to claim you know what effect it had. Xenoblade X has only been out for a few months and is only slightly behind Xenoblade while Xenoblade released on a system with a significantly larger install base but you seem to think that there was a major drop due to censorship? you don't know this, here's some advice, take your idea back to the drawing board and don't draw anything next time.
I'm not even defending censorship here, if they sell less in their lifetime and we can chalk a lot of their sales losses on censorship I will have a laugh, but holy shit user.
Justin Baker
Xenoblade would of sold thrice the units it did if Gameshop wasn't so Jewish about its release by the way
Logan Baker
The death of Iwata didn't help and I think the fact that the Wii U didn't turn out to be the success it could have been also I think dampened spirits. And even now, Nintendo has pretty much given up on it to focus on the NX and other stuff outside of a few titles.
Cameron Hughes
You still don't know that, Fire Emblem has always been niche, niche tiles don't scale well with increased system sales, and Awakening sold slowly over a few years achieving it's sales and it came out as the 3ds was trending Fates has been out a few months, it's even a common trend for sequels of niche and semi niche titles to sell downwards as a systems life goes on but it looks like it may end up equal or upwards from US/euro sales, countries where the DS is less relevant. Censorship wasn't an issue in Japan and it equaled Awakenings numbers, you still have no argument.
You don't know Xenoblade Chronicles would have sold 3x and I'd like to see you prove otherwise, it didn't sell 3x as much in Japan, Xenoblade X is just off Xenoblade in Japan, on a system with significantly less sales overall, in a region where censorship wasn't an issue.
You're just part of this retarded bunch of people who think shit discussed here is common thought, that the few hundred people that visit here make any impact, Torrential downpour was a major outreach that ended up as an event so tiny and so short lived, that you could hardly say it had occured at all.
You literally have no argument and have nothing not a single thing to back up your argument but "well I feel this was a major issue for otaku like myself" don't even bother, don't even bother trying. I have better things to do then prove you wrong.
Oh well.
Evan Clark
No they aren't. Putting faith in known liars is foolishness.
"So lets listen to people who make up numbers on the internet instead!" is not a better choice or counter argument.
No, they are not industry insiders either. There is no proof they are except their word which is worth nothing on the internet since anyone can lie on the internet.
Vgchartz, only exists to fuel arguments on the internet. That's it. Plenty of other big selling or even underselling games have being proved false when the publisher or developer released actual numbers.
William Mitchell
I'm not surprised. They took a game that traditionally doesn't sell a lot, gave it to a developer that traditionally doesn't sell a lot, and told them to make it the same as 64 but with more stupid gimmicks (Motion controls, hovership, chicken)
Joseph Williams
...
Aaron Evans
How old are you? How do wild assumptions like these even exist?
Jayden Miller
What ever happened to FUCKING ADVERTISING
None of this low selling game shit would be an issue if people actually knew what fucking games were coming out and when. NoA is fucking retarded and I'm fucking ashamed to have ever liked them.
I hope the industry does crash. Fuck jews in video games.
Jonathan Cruz
Watch as the NDF swarm in and claim the controls aren't bad, we just suck at them and spout "Git Gud" maymays…
Jaxon Mitchell
Never cared for the series in the first place, would be neutral if it weren't for the fact that Nintendo and Miyamoto have deserved to eat shit for years now. Let it burn.
Connor Moore
Maybe they wanted to minimize the lost money, just like Sony's doing with spending no money on Ghostbusters's ad campaign.
Hunter Hall
I was actually going to buy a Wii U for Xenoblade, Fatal Frame 5, Dong Freeze, Mario Maker, Smash and Mario Maker.
Censorship, poor marketing and most of them being dissapointing just completely turned me away from it, more Amiiboo pushing and the company going to mobiles just completely killed it for me. Man, I remember when most of 8/v/ was all for PC+Wii U+Handhelds, the console held so much promise.
This isn't 1993 anymore when finding decent furry content that wasn't garbage aimed at toddlers or young preteens was practically impossible. Hell even in 1997 decent furry stuff was only on IRC and on newsgroups, you had to be involved in mail order comics or attend conventions.
This series isn't very appealing to the furry community because the furry aspect might as well be tacked on. It's an on rails space themed scrolling shooter from the arcade era with furry characters only appearing in the cutscenes or dialogue not the futuristic RPG set in a furry universe they want. They could still salvage this series if they stop making games nobody wants with it.
Jaxon Ortiz
I'm not saying you're wrong, I just want you to post a better source. VGChartz is infamously unreliable.
There's a difference there of several million sales.
Ryan Cruz
I thought Zero was okay but it was severely hamstrung by its controls.
Robert Adams
Meh. I think it's just the fact the game is the 3rd or 4th time they did a remake of the 1st StarFox game. A sequel or progression in scope/size would of been great. But the game is easily smaller than it should be considering the hardware is superior to the initial release of the 1st game. It's just lazyness in general.
Tyler Reyes
If you are the Original 12 in Smash 64, your are immortalized.
Nathaniel Edwards
Why do you guys care so much about what they think? I mean, the fact this flopped proves they didn't all go out and buy it. If anything, the majority of sales came from Star Fox 64 nostalgiafags and people convinced it would be a "great" addition to their Wii U libraries.
I'm a furfag and I've never had the urge to play this series.
Carter Rogers
VGChartz is strictly physical you jizz puddle
Hunter Peterson
Its actually sort of funny.
At this rate, I don't think they will make an F-Zero/Metroid game. How many times have they released a game people asked for, only for it to not sell?
Parker Reyes
You're acting like that doesn't make it even less reliable.
Sebastian Rivera
Well this didn't help to sell games
Hudson Adams
Once again that's not confirmation of any kind that's just our bias against Reggie, well earned bias. Has there been any news source saying that higher ups or managerial staff, NoA or NoJ, are tired of Reggie. They have said nothing about it so they are still okay with reggie, or his work is tolerable for him to not be fired.
Austin Jenkins
How? Im bluntingly stating a fact, VGChartz aint got no reliable source, everyone knows that.
Blake Wood
The problem was they pandered to nostalgia. The demands of "muh 64" types were certainly heard the most and the game suffers for it.
What I don't get is, if they wanted to do something different without having to use the Adventrues/Assault/Command continuity, they could have easily made a direct sequel to 64 instead of a reboot. Like how SF64 was a reboot of the SNES game, a sequel from Start Fox 64 could have been the SF2 equivalent. It still could have had the walkers, and they could have brought back Miyu and Fay and let you choose your pilot with different stats.
Anthony Jackson
No. Let's rehash shit every decade or so for the new children to play. That's where the money is.
Sebastian Sullivan
...
Aaron Rodriguez
How is Reggie okay with all this memeshit? Can't he just fire these meme loving fucks?
Ian Rogers
so like every other nintendo game?
Michael Ward
He's probably cool with it
Blake Nelson
A Reboot would of been fine if they upped the stakes a little bit.
Honestly, I think the reason this series is pretty much dead is because they never sold Starfox 2 on the snes. That was the perfect progression of the series, which enhanced the replaybility of it. It also established that Andross can come back, because why not.
Starfox Adventures however established that the series moves on, and characters get old. That only leads to people writing themselves into a wall, which they do all the time.
Evan Phillips
Anything they release is gonna flop. No one likes, owns or cares about the Wii U.
Ian Hill
Reggie is a memester, user.
Elijah Wilson
What's the point of rebooting a reboot? What does the series gain by erasing it? It's not like you have too much stuff going on in it to have restrictions regarding continuity.
Isn't it implied Metal Face Andross from Star Fox 1 wasn't the real deal but something he controlled?
Oliver Gray
Oh yeah i forgot. You faggots got him into memes after the whole "le redy body xD" meme
Ryan Howard
IT'S JUST A PRANK BRO
Ian Powell
The 8th gen is an abortion. The Wii U is still the best of the duds though.
Isaiah Hall
Honestly, at this point, I don't think it matters.
Like, I don't think people are bothered if they face an Andross in the end, as long as the middle set pieces are different. The "Reboot" Aspect of Zero does not affect the gameplay too much, as they are a bunch of new bosses, with the exception of the Air Ship Carrier. A bunch of the stages are different, too; the main issue with the game is the lack of replayability, which, if they adopted more aspect of Starfox 2, would of be easily resolved.
James Adams
They changed quite a bit of the story, though. But otherwise, I was hoping we were getting SF2 with it being a direct sequel with walkers. Instead, we got a mishmash that doesn't know what it wants to be. It was incredibly disappointing.
Ryan Walker
...
Nolan Nelson
if only the same would happen to Sonnygers and Vavledrones.
Logan Flores
When did this happen? Zero had more content than 64 and good motion controls.
Grayson Lee
Makes me wish Jigglypuff wasn't in Smash 64.
Isn't it basically the same but with Andross being banished for experiments with teleporters instead of bioweapons, Venom being a teleporter instead of a planet, Fox's Dad saving you from Andross isntead of leading you out? And pretty much anything else being superficial like going to a planet to resuce Peepy instead of Slippy?
Jace Clark
if only you actually bothered to read the thread instead of spazzing out like a retard.
Michael Sanders
It's a bit too late to damage control, son.
Kevin Garcia
...
Noah Bailey
They just moved to pokemon. Nintendo has the furry market dominated.
Mason Roberts
...
Ayden Long
Why would people read shit threads?
What damage control?
Tyler Gutierrez
You do know originally King Dedede Or Mewtwo was originally supose to be in Smash 64, right?
They made Jiggly Puff at the last minute. Shes actually just a reskin of Kirby.
Adrian Cox
B R A V O R A V O
Ayden Turner
I don't own any of the new consoles. The Wii U is on the level of the bone though and honestly Nintendo deserves to eat shit for flooding the market with casuals with the Wii. I'm glad they're getting their asses kicked on the U and hope they take it as a lesson to drop the fucking gimmicks with the NX.
Julian Bailey
...
Cooper Hall
...
Anthony Rivera
Is that game going to be at NASA this thursday?
I would love to see that run
Lucas Cook
Do you not know what speedrunning is?
Oliver Foster
I know, and I wish it was one of them, because now we have to put up with that irrelevant Pokemon in every game.
I have nothing against the actual Pokemon, but it's not really fair that more relevant or popular Pokemon don't get to shine. I mean, outside of Smash Jigglypuff never appears in merch or anything anymore.
Ian Bennett
No wonder every other company gets shat on here, nintendo fans have gone full biodrone.
Nicholas Hernandez
Prove I'm "NDF", whatever the fuck that means, and how about trying to refute points instead of overusing greentext like a redditag?
But it isn't a shit game or an amiibo game.
Hudson Smith
Well, they might be hope. Samurai is not working on the next Smash, is he?
Xavier Cox
We are talking about Star Fox here, there isn't much more game involved.
Robert Diaz
W A W
Jacob Sanchez
Starfox is about scores, not speed runs
Brandon Sanchez
...
Hunter Rodriguez
And the Gigarilla making an appearance because you capture it, instead of it appearing on Venom, you don't ever fight the enemy mother ship on Fortuna, and several sectors are completely different. No Sector X, Y, and Z, and because there's no bioweapons, 2 planets are gone, and the secret weapon in sector X is nowhere to be seen. Now, the importance to the actual plot of all this is relatively little, aside from Andross invading Corneria balls the wall at the end, but the lore is fucked now.
Gabriel Carter
people can play the game however the fuck they want to shill. if they aren't satisfied in the same way the previous games managed then it's Nintendo's fault, not theirs.
Eli Davis
Have you even played the game, user?
user please, Starfox lore was fucked from the beginning because guess what: nobody gives a shit about it
Josiah Rodriguez
Wait
The Gigeralla was the Pyramid Robot in Starfox 64?
Brody Long
where did I say I disliked the game shill?
Adam Cox
Please tell me you're joking
Isaiah Barnes
Sad thing is that i'm not sure if you are a shill or just another nintendrone.
Landon Gutierrez
No, and that user is dumb for thinking it is.
Cameron Clark
Nigger what? Kalinske grabbed an irrelevant, shovelware ridden, dying piece of shit SEGA and managed to destroy Nintendo's stronghold over the American market. He was the best thing to ever happen to SEGA until he got cucked by SEGA of Japan.
Grayson Baker
At least you admit to being a moron who shits on games before playing them. Maybe you're the drone here.
Cameron James
NDF means "Nintendo Defense Force", and you're proving it through your very own posts and behaviour.
Yeah, but "Muh Original 12" has become so ingrained in the fandom I doubt whoever takes over is gonna stir the pot in such a way. Hopefully we'll at least get someone who won't make Ganondorf a clone again.
Lucas Hernandez
(checked) Pretty sure. It's at least the first thing I thought of when I saw it. If it's not, I'm retarded.
Maybe the Gigarilla is the Sector X weapon but fully completed?
Daniel Bell
How am I proving it?
Jose Green
yet it's totally okay for you to loyally defend it without buying it. fuck off shill.
Completely different enemy, even completely different backstory.
Man user, you're really behind with the times
Jack James
Between new Terraria update, Kingdom Come, Deathwing, Endless Space 2, Shadow Warrior 2, Bannerlord, Serious Sam 4 and more Dwarf Fortress, all coming withing a year, I really don't remember when I was looking forward to more games. You're just a fucking faggot.
Jack Hernandez
...
Connor Gonzalez
no one gives a shit what you think faggot. gaming being "alive" implies a larger market with more games which is opposite of the truth. gaming is contracting.
Brody Fisher
But I didn't ask that question. Who are you quoting?
Luis Powell
That's true. Number of indie shit released every day is at all time max.
Henry King
...
Adrian Wright
Well your very first post in this thread was trying to discredit the bad sales with "look at the site he used!"
Anthony Rodriguez
WOW NEVER WOULD HAVE GUESSED
Cameron Harris
user, everybody who isn't new here knows VGchartz is shit.
Ayden Allen
In other news, the sky is blue.
More at eleven.
Luis Diaz
So you were just trying to deflect the fact the game is doing abysmally due to the fact it's a bad game on a weak selling console? Got it, you are not a shill, you are just a retard doing it for free.
Andrew Brooks
You can finish the game in 32 minutes? I know that's the top of the leaderboards, but still. Jesus.
Easton Clark
Dubs, c'mon. I think we can agree the game didn't sell well and also agree that VGChartz is shit.
Camden Powell
user, I..
Henry Scott
No, I was saying VGchartz is shit, meaning you don't even know if it's doing bad or good.
Please leave Holla Forums until you understand this, my little new friend.
Joshua Robinson
You could finish SNES and 64 in less.
Xavier Brown
Yes, but getting past that, your posts still revolve around trying to defend this game.
Also there's no point in saging when people are gonna bump it with the next reply anyway.
Blake Sanders
Probably one the biggest reoccurring characters in the anime was Jigglypuff/Purin, which had been running for 2 years at the time of Smash 64's release. It was really big in Japan.
Gabriel Morales
Tom "I don't think Americans are ready for RPG's Kalinske is at least partly responsible for SEGA's death and the failure of the Saturn in North America
Asher Anderson
If only it had more censorship and memes the Nintendrones would have loved it.
Camden Thompson
...
Henry Price
I'm aware of her prominence in the anime. I said she never appears anymore. And that extends to the anime, where she hasn't appeared since the Hoenn seasons.
Christopher Ward
user. Games that are such a cluster fuck on release hardly effect the initial sales if it's a well known brand. It usually effects the sequels For as bad as Awakening was, Fates is in that same area as Tomb Raider if giving the middle finger to the fans. Awakening was cringy while Fates was just down right insulting. Also with consumer awareness being spread right now more than any other time in vidya history where we used to depend on journalists to do this shit. I would definitely say that sales are being effected by consumer awareness now more than ever.
Justin Richardson
If Zero is a direct sequel to 64, how is Team Wolf still around? Didn't they get blown up, turned into cyborgs then get blown up again?
Carter Bailey
Man that's a shame, it wasn't the best, but it did not deserved to get fucked this badly in retail.
Now watch HASHTAG FE be a fucking wii u best seller or some shit
Jeremiah Campbell
The Saturn did reasonably well in Japan because of a clever ad campaign and drawing in particular game markets. Tom endorsed one of the most terrible ad campaigns for any system in North America and held back the release of some of the best games the system had to offer cause he didn't think Americans were ready for the genre, then Final Fantasy VII proved his theory wrong in the most humiliating way possible.
Christopher Anderson
Kalinkse rightfully jumped ship as the Saturn was underpowered compared to the market, had absolutely shit games at launch, I love the fighters and shmups to bits and everything he tried was getting overriden by the greedy fucks over at SOJ due to jealousy. Even in Japan the Saturn didn't fare much better. Even so, the Saturn did get some JRPGs but I do admit I would've liked a few more.
Charles Hughes
Zero isn't a sequel or reboot or anything, it's its own thing, probably in response to fans who had been begging for a return to 64's gameplay in the years since Adventures
Dominic Cox
Go away newfag.
(checked) I haven't seen the link, but I assume they can waive it with 'teleporters!'
I can safely say if we had the equivalent of Segata Sanshiro in the US, my family would be Sega only.
I highly doubt it given how poorly it seems to be doing in Japan but I can't remember the source I read for those numbers, so we could be in for a surprise.
Ethan Parker
Might not be a bad thing. Maybe we'll start seeing some actually decent mobile RPGs then.
Ethan Scott
it is a good feeling for captain falcon fans everywhere, even if we've been without a new F-zero for years.
Jason Wright
How about you take a hike?
Then how come Platinum mentioned a potential sequel on twitter (this was before the game was released though, so no chance of that now).
Daniel Rodriguez
Because they don't know what else to call a game that comes after another game?
Jaxson Watson
And that's not really relevant at all with Smash roster decisions. Puff is a mainstay that people like to play due to its unique playstyle and no amount of "x doesn't deserve to be in the game because [pedantic reason]" or other assorted rosterfaggotry is going to change that.
Luke Price
But go ahead, keep being a faggot.
See, the thing about that is I want PC versions at least, too. I don't want to solely be constrained to a mobile device for a good game.
Owen Cox
Honestly, I don't see why Command gets all the flack. I mean, yeah the timer was a bit irritating, but I found the game to be rather fun and I liked how branching the story paths were.
Leo Morris
Even though you were the one the brought up the anime in the first place?
You realise "Jiggs has to stay because she was in da first gaem!" is rosterfaggotry , right?
Wyatt Wilson
What a surprise… Shitty game with shitty gimmicky controls flopped.
Owen Anderson
It's a shit game. Every objective is the same: Shoot down enemy fighters to get stars, protect the immobile Great Fox II, liberate bases by barrel rolling into the giant UFO thing above them, and maybe a few interesting bosses. That's it. The flying is clunky, the way the bombs work is dumb, most of the ships in the game suck ass so that whole angle isn't even worth it. And to top it off the branching story is dumb when the story is pants on head retarded.
Grayson Jackson
Irony isn't you're strong suit, is it?
Justin Garcia
The Saturn being underpowered as a machine was never really something that should have held it back. Arguably PS1 was less powerful than the N64 but got developers through its easier ability to make games for it and got plenty of customers through its smart marketing. Tom just stopped caring and left as soon as he could but he also hurt Sega in North America with the Saturn despite his otherwise positive track record because he became disconnected from the market. The Saturn might never have been able to compete with the N64 or the PS1, but it still could have done better.
The Wii U also could have done a lot better if NoA knew how to market it to American consumers and if Reggie hadn't lost his touch, especially when it probably has a much better game library through the e-shop, Wii backwards compatibility and critically well-received Wii U exclusives. Could it have ever been able to imitate the Wii's success or match the PS4/Sexbox? I highly doubt it, but there's no reason this system should have bombed like this North America except through NoA just being stupid.
Eli Anderson
a much better game library than the Saturn did I mean, although I do think the Wii U's games are more unique than most of the stuff on its competitors regardless of whether they have any broad appeal
Noah Scott
...
Brayden Thomas
It looks like everyone really hates the Star Fox IP. They'll have to make another Adventures to confirm, though.
Julian Kelly
They have the best return. Some people can spend less then 5 grand and with digital distribution make back millions.
Jace Sanchez
Why is Ninty so obsessed with blantantly remaking Star Fox SNES/64 again? Theres only so many times people would buy it and be happy with it, like with Animal Crossing City Folk for example.
What does this mean for Miyamoto? Will he be thrown into the mobile game cellar for all eternity?
Zachary Long
Because that's all people have been asking for since Adventures came out?
Landon Brown
Probably because that's what Star Fox fans want, but the problem is someone at Nintendo keeps messing up a very simple formula.
It's like D44M tries to be more like the original than Doom 3, but still feels less like the original Doom than 3.
Isaiah Sullivan
Is the game worth getting at full price? I have no issue with gyro controls if it uses it well like Splatoon. Do you have to use the Gyro controls?
Nolan Hill
What did anyone expect?
Justin Robinson
I haven't played the game yet, but I get the feeling that Holla Forums might be being over dramatic about the quality of the game
Parker Rodriguez
The game is good, the chicken parts are ok, but when you have to use robby the robot the game goes full stop.
Levi Ward
Oh you kids and your fan fiction.
The gaming industry as a whole still remains larger and bigger than the movie one making over a a hundred billion last year alone, an industry that enormous is not going to crash, more than that the various developers aren't simply going to switch to PC and a new golden age will start.
In fact if a crash truly did happen you know what would be the result?
Only the really large companies would survive, EA, Activision, Ubisoft and the like, everyone else would be forced to close, the smaller ones who might survive might find themselves forced to unite with a big company just to pay their employees, never mind how this would allow the indie clique to try to gain power since those hipsters do have a lot of money.
Stop begging and wishing for a 2nd gaming crash, the results will be bad for console fucks and master race retards alike.
And I'm not surprised, Star Fox was always kind of niche anyway, the Wii U is a dead console and they just had to saddle with shit motions controls, they where begging for it to fail.
I wonder where all those faggots coming up with conspiracy theories on how the low scores where the result of that stupid whore that got fired are now.
Parker Roberts
They're underage user. Give them a break.
Christian Young
I bought it. Thought it was pretty okay. Kind of regret it.
Joshua Gutierrez
Congratulations, this is one of the stupidest theories I've ever heard.
AAAs can barely keep afloat right now, when their blockbusters whiff, they're done. Indie devs (not San Fran legbeards ,I mean fuckin coders) can work on their shit at night after work.
Connor Turner
Not at full price. Had it been $40(including Guard) or less, I could recommend it as a decent budget title.
Jordan Gutierrez
This is the stupidest thing I've seen on this site, ever.
Parker Smith
Doesn't manage to counter it.
Great response.
Christian Adams
Why would I need to, it's completely obvious. The "gaming industry" has never broken 100 billion. It has never even come close to being 1/4 of the value of the "movie industry."
Saying that the gaming industry is bigger than the movie industry is just fucking ignorant and completely out of touch and that's all there is to say about it.
Caleb Long
How much of this is down to the fact that fucking nobody owns a Wii U?
Ayden Sullivan
None of it since a game like splatoon can break into the millions
Jose Stewart
Oh and
Facts nigger not opinions.
Sebastian Ross
If you really think that the gaming industry has surpassed the movie industry in size you are a fucking retard and you should kill yourself
Kayden Torres
Once again great rebuttal user.
Leo Rodriguez
...
Ethan Ramirez
Holy shit you're retarded, and even moreso for doubling down on this instead of just using Google like a normal human being. But here, I'll spoonfeed you:
In 2004, the U.S. game industry as a whole was worth $10.3 billion. U.S. gaming revenue was estimated to be $20.5 billion in 2014.
The revenue for the film industry will grow from 88.3 billion U.S. dollars in 2015 to 104.6 billion in 2019.
Josiah Gutierrez
Worth=/=Profit
Who makes more money: Hollywood or the video game industry?
The video game industry made twice as much money in 2013 than did the film industry.
Worldwide box-office revenue for the film industry in 2013 was $35.9 billion (source Theatrical Market Statistics 2013).
Worldwide revenue for the video game industry in 2013 was $70.4 billion (source: 2013 Global Games Market Report).
Note that film industry revenues here does not include such things as income from DVD sales or cable viewings, but even if those were factored in, I'm certain the video game industry still comes out ahead.
Note also that the video game industry revenue also includes sales of hardware: specifically, console systems.
And take into account that that was in 2013, the market has only grown even more.
You 2ND BIDGYA CRASH underage faggots are delusional.
Isaac Martinez
Might as well keep going now
Brandon Watson
Is Endless Legend really that good?
And I thought the final Terraria update was the final one, the Moon Lord addition?
Wyatt Ortiz
Great rebuttal user, can't argue with that
Colton Richardson
Splatoon came at the beginning of Wii U's life cycle. Star Fox Zero has come at the end. titles at the end of a console's life cycle always sell worse.
Henry Barnes
You have to think bigger. We need a world war to cleanse non-whites and leftists from our institutions, then a true golden age, not only within video games, will begin.
Joseph Price
You act as if you've said anything worth an actual rebuttal. All you've done is embarrass yourself, so all you get are memes.
Parker Perez
Nigga splatoon came out last year
2 years after the WiiU launched
Caleb Long
My point stands.
The Wii U has only shipped about 13 million units. The NX has already been announced and the Wii U Zelda title is confirmed as having been moved over to the NX.
Nobody in their right mind is going to buy a new Wii U just for Star Fox Zero when it's increasingly obvious that the Wii U doesn't have much longer to go.
Jace Brown
There's a new Star Fox? Is it fun?
Michael Ross
i had fun with it.
Isaiah Brown
This is the stupidest thing I've ever heard
Cooper Baker
Not really. It had one or two moments of decent gameplay but it has pants on head retarded design. Maybe worth pirating.
You are aware that 90% of AAA titles are done so poorly and cheaply to save money right? Even if the game fails to meet expectations its still a hit and profit was made for these companies right? They have a lot more money than most of you know.
But keep being retarded children and wishing for a 2nd gaming crash because X company made a game I don't like.
Eli Brooks
Yeah nah
Aiden Wilson
Posting dickless version
Jace Wilson
...
Michael Harris
When you look under the hood, the N64 is pretty impressive. The problem was that except for Nintendo themselves, few developers had an easy time making games for it that utilized its technology to the fullest.
Luke Powell
>doesn't have boobs
How am I supposed to fap to this?
Jaxson Wilson
Put on a dress and admit you are a fag
Grayson Ortiz
While I don't like how Nintendo have been running recently (especially in the west) and Miyomoto is a hit and miss in his older age (making games a bit too easy), the guy running it now is a turbo-kike.
He'll kill creativity- guaranteed.
1st Pic related on one possible reason why. The other could be just outright greed in the NoA branch, play it safe, sell as much as you can, rebrand as a toy instead of a game, etc. The other two pics lean towards that.
However, even NoJ backed them up on why they got rid of a bad-end sidequest for Bravely Second. Do NoJ just not care about the western market (thanks to sales and being told SJW are the dominant force)? Or have they (somehow against all odds) been lied to by NoA for a while?
Only a few levels in. Full price probably not (but thats more due to how NoA has been running). The controls take getting used to, but after a while it's like a DS. You glance down when you need precision shots. Also, small movements move the aiming reticule more, so you don't need to flail or over-exhurt yourself.
Oliver Rodriguez
please go
Samuel Gonzalez
But I'm a little girl, how can I be a fag?
Adam Nguyen
Fates has already outsold Awakening in both US and JP regions based on Nintendos own figures. Awakening is at 1.9mil, fates is at 1.84 with no euro release and only 2 months of US sales and no christmas season in the US. nintendo.co.jp/ir/pdf/2016/160427_4e.pdf
You don't know how fans felt about Iron Fates, you know how people here felt about it but that's about it. sure it effects some sales but it's quite clearly a minority of buyers who were dissuaded. fuck NoA and their retarded censorship, there was literally no elements of Fe Fates that needed censorship, and the pickles the kid character sounds retarded as all fuck.
God damn I'm sick of being right.
Matthew Sanchez
The silver lining here is that there will be no more fuckups like Other M or FedForce, and F-Zero will remain pristine forever. Also, Splatoon has been there only big success so squidfags like me will get all our cancerous desires satiated.
Alexander Fisher
*their only big success
Robert Morris
I pirated If and still feel like I wasted my time, the people buying these games definitely aren't buying it for the story or gameplay.
Gabriel Hill
They could be playing it for that comf ost.
Elijah James
Comfyfags strike again
Asher Martinez
It gets even better because it's a dynamic theme that changes to this in combat
Colton Long
It's definitely nice music, not enough to make me like everything else though.
Blake Torres
Kinda unrelated, but remember when Starfox Zero was originally hinted at around the same time two other Nintendo games were shown? Project Guard and Project Giant Robot. That was like two years ago, what the fuck happened to them, did Nintendo cancel them or something?
Adrian Miller
Guard became Star Fox Guard Giant Robot is still on hold or scrapped
Connor Harris
Project Guard (now called Star Fox Guard) game out a few weeks ago. It came and went without a sound, Nintendo probably wanted it to be released quietly because of the less-than-positive reaction to it at E3 2014. Project Giant Robot was most likely canned, and for the same reason.
Easton Hernandez
Speaking of guard, is there any way to change the cameras without the touch screen, i fucking hate having to stop everything to
Mason Stewart
git gud, scrub
Leo Perez
It's not hard, i just hate having to use the shitty gimmicks.
Hunter Hernandez
Yes and they're fucking lousy.
You have to continuously bounce back and forth between gamepad view and TV to do fucking anything.
This control scheme was shown off at LAST YEAR'S E3, and people said it was hot filth.
The fact that they kept it around is fucking mind-boggling.
Jose Cox
The shit? I can't find anything about it being an NX exclusive, just that it got the Twilight Princess treatment.
Owen Rivera
I guess, but repeating what feels like the same moments and levels? Aint that enough, why not try something new instead of doing the same shit again but feel like motion controls justify a full price?
Jeremiah Collins
Gigarilla is the fucking Corneria hard path boss in 64 you stupid nigger.
Christian Wilson
because it's not exclusive. It is however being delayed another fucvking year because they're porting it.
Parker Sanchez
All the amiibo content is actually unlockable in game.
Carson Edwards
Still waiting on a sequal to SM64!
Galaxy was way too linear and had too much gay OC that wasn't even intresting and lumas were gay.
Jason Wright
No, it was the motion controls. I would've bought a Wii U for this game if it didn't have them.
Gavin Taylor
STar Fox Guard was actually bundled with Star Fox Zero and it's actually really good.
Project Giant Robot Is waiting to be released because Miyamoto isn't sure how to make it into a fun game.
When you say shit like this you just sound like you're shit and you need to get better.
Jeremiah Lopez
Halfchan is that way.
Evan James
And to be honest, I'm not mad that it's probably going to be the game that kills the IP. I liked it so imo the series went out on a high note and won't be raped to death with DLC, bad localizations, and Amiibo support in future entries… because there will be none.
Lucas Stewart
So, now that most of Nintendo's best franchises are dead (Starfox, Metroid, F-Zero, Mother, etc.) is there any reason to get a Nintendo console ever again?
Jeremiah Ortiz
I guess I will just have to speak for myself on this one
Just like they're working on a true metroid sequel and we just need to wait?
Grayson Gray
Miyamoto has a good idea on how to do amiibo stuff. It was him that made them make the amiibo outfits in Mario Maker unlockable through the 100 mario challenge and he's the one that made the amiibo shit in star fox unlockable through in game means.
He's basically using them as quick unlocks.
Alexander Thomas
The way Nintendo is abandoning the Wii U and letting NoA botch tranlations as well as censor the fuck out of games, I'd think not.
Gabriel Parker
when you suck cock do you get on your knees willingly or do they force you and tie you up?
Angel Cox
Guy whose dad works at nintendo here
he says its pretty vanilla so he needs to scan in his amiibos to unlock the weapons, costumes, and dungeon to get the complete experience.
Logan Foster
what I'm looking forward to is how Reggie spins this shit at this year's E3. He always has some new bullshit.
tbh, I genuinely like the guy. His bullshit is some of the funniest out there. Always gives me a good chuckle.
James Butler
Should of just got platinum to make it
Isaac Moore
No.
Juan Gray
I thought that was Bernie Stolar along him not bringing over 2D/japanese games over to the west. Even got flack for announcing Sega abandoning the Saturn so soon.
Gavin Hall
I take cock less than you at least. I still can't believe that anons like you get triggered like tumblrites at the mere mention of amiibos. You're like Neogaf whenever they're mentioned.
They're not. I don't think a lot of you realize how making games works internally at nintendo.
I'll explain this like I explain it a million times. Even though you jackasses probably still wont get it.
Metroid isn't dead, nitnendo still has interest in the series but the sales aren't driving it. The only hope for a new game is if one of their internal devs or if a third party takes an interest in it. Retro isn't going to make it because they're working on their new IP, and Sakamoto isn't going to make it because he's literally making mobile games now. Third Parties probably wont make it because so few are actually interested in working with nintendo especially after NoA is bungling everything it turns western devs off and third parties of japan are rarely interested in picking up IPs like that unless they're second party or really close to nintendo like Next Level.
Speaking of Next Level, their FedForce spinoff has actually been in development a long time. It was originally planed for the DSi but the technology wasn't there so they dropped it and waited for the 3DS. They were too busy with other projects until now, so busy in fact that their true Metroid sequel project got canned in favor of Luigi's Mansion 2 because it was further along in development. This is going to be the only Metroid for a while but after the fan reactions and multiple threads on metroid, I'm totally fine with that because the fanbase is cancer at this point and wont be happy with the next game regardless of quality, just like everyone shits on Star Fox Zero now.

Probably by not talking about any of the negative shit. No matter what they are safe from getting booed due to the Zelda game they'll be showing off.
I bet that second guy loves Polygon.
Ryder Brooks
I actually got that one.
The dungeon is a shitty cave of ordeals reskin where you literally can only use Wolf Link. Wolf link still is an incredibly mediocre mechanic and without the ability to heal, the dungeon is just tedious. The only unique assets in the entire thing is the ending statue, even the new wallet is pretty useless because they upped the Rupee count of all the others. It does however make the Rupee armor viable but that's about it.

i didn't mention amiibos though lol. i was making fun of you for defending nintendo so readily.
Wyatt Morris
Swear to god, i beat all the missions i tried the very first time. I just want the option to not use the touch screen to move the cameras, and have off tv play like most wii u games do.
Andrew Robinson
I think it was less retarded if it actually was amiibos, because holy shit. You're either a really bad shitposter or you're just THAT retarded and got caught getting triggered.
Ethan Watson
I was fine with the motion controls, but the game was shorter, easier and more boring/gimmicky than picrelated.
I thought Star Fox was supposed to be a rail shooter, and Zero didn't want to be in its own genre
Nathaniel Morales
i don't know what you're talking about honestly.
i'm still going to make fun of you for defending nintendo tho lol.
Christian King
Call it stupid, retarded, autistic or whatever, but that's exactly what happened in the 1980s game crash. Both Activision and EA survived the games crash, the former being literally the first third party developer and the latter being a company that was founded a year before the games crash.
Jayden Evans
game is good, tho
Julian Williams
…And he tried this shame shit when he was president of Sony Computer Entertainment America.
Ayden Richardson
Nah, brah, they just need to make Samus a cameo in her own series, because they can't be arsed to fix the fact that Other M retcons every game past Metroid 1.
What sales? Multiple Metroid titles were canned between Other M and FedForce. And surely, the best way to revive interest in a series… is to make a game that plays hardly at all like the other entries in that series!
GOOD

This entire posts makes me think you're a literal chris-chan tier autist for metroid screaming about blue arms. You make no point besides shitting on a new spinoff. Implying the series is dead when in fact it has a new spinoff coming out and even Retro's staff said they'd like to return to metroid at somepoint.
Other M was below par, and all three prime games sales were average.
One was and it was canned for reasons OTHER than being a metroid game. It was canned because it never left the planning phase and it was hindering the development of another game that was being developed.
Then the same devs went on to make fedforce.
They're not trying to revive interest, there is no interest to revive, you fucks are still obsessed over it because the series went and made you go full autist over it. You'll buy the newest real entry, prime or 2D, because you're retarded and blind to actual quality at this point.
I think you missed the point. There is no developer interest within nintendo to make a metroid game at this point. It's not a series that drives huge sales. It's not a system seller like 3D mario or Wii or splatoon or Mario kart is. It's just a game that has average sales, that was only continuing because developers inside nintendo had interest in it. That interest is gone when the two major developers lost interest in making new entries and wanted to do other things than please autists like you.
Star Fox was in the same situation. SF0 only came about because Miyamoto heard fans begging for it and decided to make a new game after years and years of no games in the series.
