At 500 yards, you'd have to use the first two shots just as a general guide for how far you'd have to adjust elevation. Meaning you'd have to go 10/10 the rest of the way.

Yeah, but somehow it doesn't work like that in cities. You can't just tell someone to get off your property and then start an altercation with them. In the country and down south, yes. Generally speaking, someone trespassing is probably going to get some lead thrown their way. But in the city, you have a reasonable expectation that someone may step on your grass and you can't just start a violent altercation.
