I always did. Even on exams I knew I would fail I could finish them fast because I knew that sitting around pitying myself for not knowing the answer wouldn't get me a better grade. If you don't know the answer, take a quick stab at it and move on. That was my policy.

I always finished exams first and relished in it. In university I made a sport out of it. I'd get drunk in the lab with my peers before the exam and bet them I could still finish it first and with the highest score. I made almost $300 like that one year. Almost payed for an entire textbook!

Sometimes a few people would hold it against me for being "that guy", but I liked being disliked by those people. It got to the point where I would get better grades from professors because I had the reputation of being the first done, which gave me the reputation of knowing my shit even when I didn't. This caused professors to give me the benefit of the doubt and I often got partial credit or even full credit for answers that other students got marked down for giving. When I realized that was happening, that's when I lost faith in the process of education. The only professors this didn't work on were the ones who didn't administer exams themselves, because they were aware such biases could be exploited by students. But most professors are cocky and think themselves rational, so it works on them.
