If this is true then take solice in knowing that your countrys ICE agents are as educated as the officer cores in most European armies. I assume border patrol agents drive around the border and arrest people that are sneaking across. This would probably only require a high school diploma or at most a 2 year law enforcement technical education. ICE agents are basically SWAT teams that do raids on homes and businesses to arrest illegal immigrants. Just as SWAT team members have higher qualifications then police, I assume ICE agents have higher qualifications than border patrol.

I can see an up side to this degree requirement. Trump shows he means business with deportations, among his voters are many people who would want to help, they all do proper degrees or get the relevant trainng, Trump voters now definitely not uneducated and also have very useful degrees and skills for life in the new great America.

No it's not but what this typically means is that they want to recruit people that are in law enforcement and have gone on to get a masters. Just anecdotal but the few cops and law enforcement folks I know have lib arts degrees and on the job they will take online masters programs in criminal justice. Getting masters in criminal justice etc. helps them get a higher salary and get promoted. And you don't need to go to a top ten school, a "Masters" can be any criminal justice degree from any online diploma mill.

At the very least, it gives many currently unemployed and debt-laden students a way to get on government-tier payroll and benefits (which are fucking excellent) without signing up for the military.
