Sejic's has a great grasp on posing, form, anatomy, expression, and a lot of the fundamentals that other pros lack.. but his linework is an utter trainwreck and it's pretty obvious that working in comics has forced him to cut entirely too many corners.

and thats all for this week

I dig the surreal elements of Wild Storm, but I can't get over the repulsive side-shave hipster hair on the main character.

Wait…Batman Noir? Didn't they did that before…except that one there's this mind screw element of whether there was a Batman or it's just in Gordon's head?

Kind of surprised I enjoyed Noir Alley.

Hey…this is from that Batmann Noir story.

I guess I should probably go back and read this from the beginning, because this shit is impenetrable.

Jon's earned that S….the little ball of sunshine earned it.

Of course, the biggest issue with this is that none of these stories seem that different from the mainstream DC universe.

We're still not ready for the world that's coming.

Gotta appeal to the lowest common denominator, you might actually like comics to know what HoM is.

And thats it for this week

Wonder if this links up to Batman Beyond. Considering that in Beyond, Brother Eye went nuts

Thanks OP.

Christ, the art in Batgirl sucks in general but Nightwing in the first pic in this post looks especially bad. This is the kind of art I expect from Marvel.

Not Rebirth user but just letting you guys know that the previews for Doomsday Clock just dropped…and fuck it, I'll spoil it. The world in Watchmen went to shit, they found out about Ozymandias' plan and here's the kicker…Rorschach is alive.

That preview has been out for 2 weeks or so now, that's old news
Regardless, I can already assume that Doomsday cock will be a trainwreck

Very likely, but I for one will not be able to look away.

Thanks user, and godFUCKINGdamit!

You know, I used to think that maybe comic book writers are just really shit at what they do but now I'm starting to think that they deliberately sat down and went "Okay guys, what's the best way to assrape Watchmen?"

We already know about it.

That's how they get you. They do something so frustrating and bizarre that you must pay attention to it.

So is shit just gonna be the same old song and dance? I hear people like Black Lightning, plus the original creator is writing this, but the description alone makes me think this miniseries is just gonna be another BLM story.

Honestly, I can't wait to see how badly Johns assrapes the entirety of Watchmen just because I'm curious to see if it's possible for one man to fuck up that hard.

is this 1992 or 2017? I wonder if Johns thinks he's being super clever with these ultra transparent parallels

I'm still interested in this story though, but I'm not what you'd call a big fan of DC. I only started reading DC comics after rebirth started.

Their is clever satire, and then there is beating the audience over the head with parallels. This is the latter.

The worst part about the 1992 thing is that it's seemingly supposed to connect to the Death of Superman, since 11/22/92 is apparently two days after the release of Superman #75. I get that Johns was never one for subtlety, but this is just fucking ludicrous.

What's the point of having superheroes deal with real-world issues? They're still going to be there once you put down the comic. Nothing changes.

It's better to use metaphor to tackle issues. That way they can talk about real-world issues and the superhero can actually accomplish something.

I wonder if Johns will bring up the fact that The Death of Superman occurred because the Lois and Clark series called dibs on Superman getting married.

I still remember that awful "let's kill every superhero dramatically" era. Even a skid i know it was trash. And it's got more cringe with time, with the every super hero went edgy, dressed in pointy costum or went complete Brandon Lee Crown style.
For me the real low point was the Clone Saga. Never again!

Fuck, this is like a cocktail of shit I hate. All we need now is another Doomsday appearance and it would be complete.

It wasn't all terrible. You got some fun characters out of it, like Azbats, Superboy, Jack Knight, and FATE.

Actually, I think the implication is that because Superman died, the world lost "hope," and that's why the Watchmen universe is imploding at the time. I could be wrong, but to me it seems so unbelievably stupid that it must be true.

Dolphin is pretty cute.

How is Garth in this story when he's fighting in Atlantis?

Curious to see how this leads up to Dr. Manhattan and what Manhattan's deal is.

Ooh so Starfire is alive in this version. This is starting to get even more interesting.

Thanks for the comics OP.

sadly I will only be able to post after work tonight

Holy shit, somehow I didn't even realize that was Starfire until I saw your comment. What the hell did they do to her? She looks like a man.

Isn't Baltimore a shithole because the blacks burned down their own neighborhoods when MLK was killed?

Bump for tonight

I guess she lost her powers after Nightwing did that bomb thing?

sadly same thing tonight will be able to post after work

boundingintocomics.com/2017/11/02/aquaman-joins-trump-resistance-upcoming-issue/?utm_source=reddit&utm_medium=social&utm_campaign=bic&utm_content=organic
So apparently Aquaman is going to become a #NeverTrump fest

ffs

cause whining like petulant children is working out so well for their competition.

I like this King Rath.

This has been Atlantis's whole shtick for numerous events, hasn't it? Atlantis has a chip on its shoulder and feels like it should rule the world and subjugate all the stupid, unadvanced land-dwellers or completely shut themselves off from them.. This is a thing that's central to pretty much any fucking plot that involves Atlantis.

Kind of wonder how they interact with the Amazons since the Amazons have a similar view on the world.

Ugh, I know what you mean. Half the shots with Nightwing in them look like the artist didn't know how to draw a man so they just drew a woman and exaggerated the shoulder width.
