Literature Class Reading Recommendations

So I'm in a unique position. I get to force high school students to read and either test on or write about various texts.

The goal is to help them develop use of language and rhetoric, critical thinking, organization, and comprehension skills.

I need texts, as many as you can think of from all political ideologies. Evola to Erasmus, I need everything you can recommend that isn't an outright doorstop.

The students will be forced to keep journals on their reading, write papers on what they've read once they've completed the work.

We can't go full Mein Kampf with this but I'd like to offer some classic and accessible Fascist texts as a counterpoint to the Communist Manifesto I know the department will shoehorn into this reading program.

Help me shape the minds of our youth!

Pic related, how the students are likely to feel at first.

Not really, but you get the point.

More like you're a high schooler who wants recommendations.

If you're doing fiction, The Merchant of Venice is pretty clear about the JQ

give them animal farm, 1984, and brave new world

The Master & Margarita by Mikhail Bulgakov

How about The Fate of Empires by Sir Glubb? Would that be acceptable?

'Don't Make the Black Kids Angry': The hoax of black victimization and those who enable it

Shylock's "does a Jew not bleed" is typically interpreted by youth as sympathetic.

Might is Right

Already on the shortlist of Shakespearean comedies we might do in class proper.

1984 is already taught in class as a text.

Excellent! I was thinking political texts and totally forgot about Clausewitz.

Nah, we're trying to create a program to encourage students to do more reading on their own. Since most other things have failed, we're considering just giving them a huge list of texts, making normal exams and homework more difficult (killing their grades), and allowing no maximum ceiling on points earned from semi-independent reading.

Students' grades will drop and they'll be forced to compensate via bonus points from the semi-independent reading. We'll make the reading work worth about 2 exams' worth of total grade, but place no cap on points earned from additional reading.

Trying to avoid even more fiction, though that does look interesting.

Right up the alley, though it seems the guy's specialty is Middle East history and the kids are… not well taught when it comes to history. Still, good find.

We can't be TOO political. Older texts and "classics" are okay because they enjoy a status that keeps them relatively immune to controversy. Also, we can just distribute digital copies of the older texts no problem- newer stuff under copyright is an issue.

I've locked into that and the playing of Shylock as more sympathetic is something that started sometime in the 19th century. The teacher could correct that.

Why Trayvon’s Best Friend Seems Stupid
It’s your problem. Not hers.

The Critical Race practitioners were out in force following the disjointed testimony of Rachel Jeantel at the trial of George Zimmerman for the murder of her friend Trayvon Martin.
She is the one who was talking to St. Trayvon on the phone when he spotted George Zimmerman following him.
In an article called Why Black People Understand Rachel Jeantel, Christina Coleman broke it down: “Any attorney, jury member, judge or white person in that courtroom is not going to understand Rachel Jeantel. And I don’t expect them to…In fact, I certainly understand why white people wouldn’t likeRachel.”i
This could be any one of dozens of articles from MSNBC to NPR. Even Geraldo at Fox.
Coleman talks about White Privilege and how it makes people blind to the differences between Jeantel and us. That is not to say black people are different. No, any Critical Race Theorist will tell you black people are normal. White people are different.
After all, who said White People are the norm? White Supremacists, that’s who.
Twitter was alive with thousands of people talking about how more white people should learn Critical Race Theory to understand Jeantel. And their own racism.
Derrick Bell may have invented Critical Race Theory. But Glenn Singleton is the Pied Piper spreading it through schools. What we call achievement, he calls White Privilege.
What we call dim-witted and angry —as we saw on the witness stand from Jeantel —Singleton would say is nothing more than the different learning and communication style of black people: “Non-verbal. Personal. Emotional. Process Oriented.”
This is opposed to “White Talk: Verbal. Impersonal. Intellectual. Task-oriented.”
Glenn Singleton is not just an obscure academic theoretician casting pearls before undergrad sociology students. He trains teachers at hundreds of school districts around the country in how to bring Critical Race Theory into the classroom so they can “overcome the deeply embedded institutional racism” that is the only reason for the achievement gap between black and white students.
Critical Race Theory says three things: White racism is permanent, everywhere and explains everything.
Singleton is its busiest practitioner in schools around the country. And if he is not there in person, his training and approach are there in spirit at the largest school districts and the largest states in the country.
Critical Race explains it all: More blacks in prison? Racist cops. Black unemployment? Racist employers. Black drug use? Racist cops ignore white drug users. Black health, black crime, black poverty? Racism. Racism. Racism.

Storm of steel by ernst junger

Don't give high-school kids Evola. You might have a single turbo autist in the class that gets it but will go right over most of their heads.

Starship troopers is def. something the guys in the class would like and is a fairly decent highschool level fiction. I'd suggest something else for the girls in the class, turbo masculine space trooper war stories tend not catch their interest.

You can look through this thread for ideas (cuckchan, I know, but the thread is solid)
archive.4plebs.org/pol/thread/113295981/

I'd suggest you try to make them read things which promote strength, hierarchy and truth. As you said you can't go full 1488, but you can show them works which promote positive things, rather than garbage like To Kill a Mockingbird. Ancient Greek mythology like the works of Homer are a good place to start. They are also the kind of works which benefit from being studied. You could also extend this into other mythological works and discuss the idea of Joseph Campbell's Monomyth, which is entirely about facing adversity in the name of doing what is right. Greek myth is also far easier to grasp and more enjoyable for high schoolers than a lot of what other people are suggesting here, at least in my experience.

Not going to work fam

Yes because its the bluepilled approved commie version of BNW..,
Slip in BNW it fits our current society way more

I'm quite fond of Starship Troopers, myself.

Consider anything dealing with the horrors of the Soviet system. Gulag Archipelago is good, as is Darkness at Noon.

Can you touch The International Jew, by Henry Ford? Absolutely anything by David Irving is a great choice. Consider his (((suppressed))) Goebbels biography and Hitler's War. Maybe his book on Rommel too.

On the Jews and Their Lies, by Martin Luther is way red-fuck-pill, but it is lent a veneer of (((respectability))) by its age.

By the way, you'll all be glad to know that ideologically neutral Google delivers about 6 million pro-kike books about their terrible persecutions when you search for "antisemitic books." Thanks, Google. I had such a hard time finding books by Daniel Goldhagen without your help.

The Camp of the Saints?

Lord of the rings

It's an independent reading thing. Students can read whatever they'd like from the list.

Looking over it, it's a decent jumping off point but not a resource outright for that many books that aren't already on my radar.

As much as I enjoyed it, I doubt ANYONE will read Spengler. That said, since this is entirely independent, I could just assign it a massive amount of weight and whoever wants to try can read it.

Too recent, too controversial.

Absolutely on the list.

(checked)

How about Skeletons at the Feast, by Chris Bohjalian? The Goodreads summary:

Because it's for girls, there's not a lot of ordinance in it, and the plot is saddled with shit-tier romances between the girl and a Scottish POW who had been sent to work on her family's farm – and of course there's the obligatory Jew-who-just-barely-escaped-Auschwitz-how-lucky-was-he-for-real-goy-they-actually-gassed-people-I-swear! But the main subject – a teenage girl fleeing Red Army rapists – is quite eye-opening.

Hitchens can be breddy gud but it's not redpill material.

The Art of the Deal?

there's too much but you can grab a bunch of texts on pathological altruism or group cohesion and group dynamics

If you want to really fuck them up over race, I suggest Soul On Ice. It's about a raping nigger who likes to punish white bitches and can seriously redpill a few girls about the danger of going near them. It can also seriously piss off pubescent white boys who will fantasize about castrating a few niggers for what they've done.

Guise, guise, plz. This is a public high school. We have undocumented Mexicans, a few melanin-Americans, etc.

I cannot put outright extreme texts on the weighted list. I can put older texts that might be extreme or classics on the list but I can't put outright zany shit on this for kids to read. Parents would have my head on a pike.

Germania, Tacitus

>>>/pdfs/

Have fun.

Brave New World by Aldous Huxley, make them reflect about it. Even if they google an explanation to copy paste for their paper they will at least expose themselves to the ideas behind it by doing so. The fact that it includes sex and drugs is also appealing for the youth and it served to keep the class interested. Best book I had to read for high school hands down.

You said they read 1984, a comparison paper between that and brave new world is also very fucking good as a redpill that people can't bitch about and both can be considered classics.

Believe it or not, many of H.P. Lovecraft's short stories are quite red-pilling. It's also really easy to convince people to read them since they think they're just horror novels rather than horror stories with really pointed sociopolitical commentary. Some really good ones are The Horror at Red Hook, which is about an Irish-American police officer hunting Middle Eastern immigrants that are sacrificing white children in New York City to their religion. There's also The Street, which is about the history of a proud New England town decaying overtime as its residents become decadent and leave, to be replaced by shitskins.
Actually almost all of his work has references to how terrible immigration by non-Anglo/Germanic Europeans is. Foreigners ruining everything is a common theme. His work went a long way toward redpilling me when I was younger.

Liberals had a collective aneurysm when they realized the Shadow of Innsmouth was a warning against race-mixing.

Plato is a good choice (and not explicitly ideological). Pick a sequence of dialogues so your students don't do something dumb like try to start with the Republic. Euthyphro, Apology, Crito, Phaedo is a good one for kids just starting.

I second Homer and would add Hesiod. Theogony is the canonical text for Greek myths, Works and Days is also worth adding to the list.

Yeah, they've been trying to censor his work for a while now once they realized that fish people and cthulhu are allegories for niggers and their nigger vices.

This book is a good overview of early modern history, undercurrents and events that influenced the present day. Ernst Junger's Storm of Steel for a first-hand account of trench-warfare or The Glass Bees for it's critical approach to technology. Sir James Frazer's The Golden Bough (abrigded of course) for an overview of comparative religion.

These are more or less normie-friendly enough to give you plausible deniability with staff and parents for potential wrong-think.

The book that the original National Socialists fapped over, no red-flags here
news.harvard.edu/gazette/story/2008/02/ancient-text-has-long-and-dangerous-reach/

gud job, we need more psychopathic and narcissistic school-children

Your pic is very related.

This snippet is one of the most powerful things I've ever read. It was integral in my redpilling, it defined for me what I had always felt but never understood - the concept of duty, and its intrinsic nature as relates to one's ethnic and racial compatriots.

Duty is… Duty is everything. A huge portion of our modern hardships can be traced directly to the lack of duty, and it takes a lot more effort to develop that sense of duty as an adult relative to if you incorporate it as a youth.
The value one is also good, but primarily for deconstruction the idiocy of Marxism.

What's great is that Lovecraft's works stand up by creative force themselves; his drawings and imagery, especially of Cthulhu, are still influential on culture today.

On the subject of this thread, I've been listening to Marcus Aurelius' Meditations, it's quite good so far.

I wish I knew of some fiction or heroic stories that portrayed modern urban niggers or shitskins properly. I know there's LOTR and its Orcs, but even then I get the sense that it doesn't capture the nigger's desire for trivial gold trinkets, sex with ugly whores, dominance, all while having a completely retarded and incapable mind, running around with baggy t-shirts and backwards hats, and having delusions of grandeur. There are a ton of non-fiction books on IQ and racial crime, but if my child ever asks me, "Dad, what were niggers like?" I would be at a loss of how to completely describe their insanity. It would be as if you take every orc and make it a loud narcissist with a Dunning-Kruger mind.

A few other suggestions:

Paradise Lost
Brave New World
The Divine Comedy
Meditations
The Art of War
The Writings of Tacitus
My Side of the Mountain (rather simplistic, but potentially insightful)
Raptor Red (likewise simplistic, but containing advanced concepts in simplistic form - pic related)
A Clockwork Orange
Lord of the Rings
The Republic
The 48 Laws of Power
The Call of the Wild

Oh, Christ, Lovecraft, yes.

The Mound
The Shadow Out of Time

If you want to understand why the media likes to associate Trump with terms that apply to them, here's an article about jewish culture:

This is the year of the rooster in China, so expect a long year of threads calling for war with China.

Jakob Burkhardt's Civilization of the Renaissance in Italy
Tocqueville's Democracy in America
Thucydides History of the Peloponnesian War
William James' essays (Pragmatism, etc.)

I wouldn't suggest highschool students be reading a book in intentionally broken English when most of them barely have a grasp on it to begin with. Schools should be brow-beating proper grammar, not enabling the inverse.

...

...

...

I don't think I've ever seen this one in one of these lists:
Walter Lippmann: Public Opinion

synopsis:

The Gulag Archipelago by Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn
Generations by Strauss and Howe

Another day, another muh books thread.

This is what you look like exactly (with or very minimal additions):
At the very least a high school student should be conversant with
- The Holy Bible & Apocrypha
- Homer: Illiad, Odyssey
- Plato: Dialogues
- Aristotle: Poetics, Ethics
- Virgil: Aeneid, Eclogues, Georgics
- Aeschylus, Sophocles, Euripides, and Aristophanes: Way too much to list all of this.

Others:
-Aurelius: Meditations
-Summa Theologica (No, you don't have to read the whole thing)
-Dante: The Divine Comedy
-Chaucer: Canterbury Tales
Machiavelli: The Prince
Hobbes: Leviathan
Shakespeare: Pretty much everything
Cervantes: History of Don Quixote de la Mancha (The most famous of the very few pieces of good spanish literature)
Milton: Paradise Lost
Kant: Critique of Pure Reason
If you're an American: Declaration of Independence, Articles of Confederation, The Constitution, and Hamilton's Federalist papers.
Goethe: Faust
Dostoevsky: The Brothers Karamazov
Tolkein: LOTR, Hobbit

Don't worry too much about "red-pill" texts. Most classical literature written by old dead white men is pretty solid stuff which has been read and studied by many great men for many generations.

The myth of the peaceful savage has been such a pervasive problem for the West that it needs to be destroyed once and for all.

I wouldn't recommend the bible if he's a teacher. Plus most kids already have one at home. Aurelius is top tier for young minds, great for inspiration and instilling a sense of ambition in young white men to retake the world.

How about philosophy on political theory? Such as 'Politics' by Aristotle, or 'Republic' by plato

Lysistrata by Aristophanes.

In truth, the "noble savage" was us.

WLP for hardcore, family one for subtle redpills.

Family book was written in the 90s and has sections on everything from feminism to faggotry to socialist jews… there is a chapter on Sweden alone. Explains a lot of things, pic related is a quote from it..

This would be another great one, one of the first 4 books WLP published, along with his own 2 books and another called Serpents Walk.

For my Legionaries Cornielu Codreneu.

Tintin has a lot of redpilled stuff in it about their mindset.
What you're looking for is Gulliver's travels Gulliver finds himself in a land of horses on two legs that ride in carts pulled by niggers. It describes everything you just said.

Either that or All Quiet on the Western Front.

I'll never forget having to read the Odyssey in high school. The book goes slow at times but the end is amazing. You have a man coming back 20 years late from war to find his (now) adult son, loyal wife and household besieged by rich fucks trying to get your wife's (the Queen's) hand now that you (the King) are presumed dead. So what does Odysseus do? He reunites with his son, they arm and armor themselves clandestinely and slaughter the suitors one by one while they sit at the dinner table. After that, father and son travel to grandfather's house, where Odysseus, his son and his father stand against the setting sun, armed and ready to meet whatever punishment the rich families of Ithaca (now with dead sons) will bring upon them. However, no army shows up. Odysseus gets off the hook because A. he's still the King and B. the families knew that the sons were being Jody-tier blue falcons trying to steal a man's wife.
So many good lessons in this book.

The thing is that so few people who read that really get it. I remember discussing these in class, 1984 is bad because telescreens and big government and BNW is bad because lots of feelings or something. Very little was mentioned about social control, or using unchained sexuality as a weapon.

I like Ostara Publications but ffs be subtle user

I always chuckle at the idea of a class where high schoolers get yelled at for an hour by a veteran.

MEIN KAMPF IS TOO THICK? GREATEST STORY IS TOO LONG? WELL HAVE NO FEAR, THE CLIFF NOTES VERSION OF THE NSDAP IS AVAILABLE

ia800801.us.archive.org/4/items/GottfriedFeder_TheProgramOfTheNSDAP/Gottfried Feder - The Program of the NSDAP - The National Socialist Workers' Party and its General Conceptions.pdf

At only 52 pages long and written by no other than Gottfried Feder himself, it should give you a quick overview about the history of the NSDAP and the Fuhrer's motives and ideology.

You have no excuse not to read it in an hour.

Just have them read Republic

can it just be good literature? The Sun Also Rises and A Moveable Feast by Hemingway are great. I was disappointed we didin't read more of his work in high school considering Fitzgerald was taught. Not very political, but they're solid books on being a man and a glimpse into the way things used to be

I'm not really as much a fan of all quiet, only because there is so much defeatism in it. I understand the tragedy of ww1 but it's often used as a fictional tale to support a hippie sort of view. It's not a bad book but I think read in isolation gives a very bleak impression.

What would be REALLY interesting would be to read both all quiet and storm and compare them.

All Quiet and Storm of Steel, and then Three Comrades after that. I don't know of any other books about Weimar but I'm sure you can draw parallels between Weimar and our modern culture. And after two books on war, a book purely about a group of friends and an intertwining love story will be a welcome change for the girls in the class.
socialmatter.net/2016/10/26/weimerica-weekly-episode-44-three-comrades/
That episode sold me on the book. Even though it takes place before the hyperinflation, you still have
Basically, a society where you work to live, live to work, and do both of those to keep yourself drunk at night.

I don't think that many Holla Forumsacks who have read this would disagree with it being recommended. We talk a lot about redpilled and bluepilled, truth and lies, awake and asleep, etc. About the two states of the European mind. Since I haven't read this in years, I'll copy/paste this.

ANNNNND IT'S ANCHORED, COURTESY OF KIKE MODS

The Song of Roland. Classic poem/story about a Frankish knight heading home from Spain and fighting a delaying action against treacherous muslims. Despite being massively outnumbered, Roland's companions all stack up piles of bodies before falling one by one, and Roland's last act is to blow his horn so hard it gives him a fatal aneurysm… and then continuing to kill saracens for like another ten paragraphs before finally succumbing right as reinforcements arrive.

It teaches the virtues of bravery, nobility, and stabbing moslem scum, and nobody can bitch about it being assigned because it's a literary classic.

The Lays of Ancient Rome is likewise useful for subtly redpilling your students; Horatious at the Gates is great:

The Captain of the Gate:
"To every man upon this earth
Death cometh soon or late.
And how can man die better
Than facing fearful odds,
For the ashes of his fathers,
And the temples of his gods,

Don't forget Kipling; his poetry is similarly classic and redpilling. Advice for the Young British Soldier, The Wrath of the Awakened Saxon, The White Man's Burden, If, The Stranger, all good.

This site is a great source for books on redpills and white racial history, both subtle and overt: ostarapublications.com/

Tintin is great too. Easy to read comics with a funny dog, and subtly redpilled stories.

Check out Penrod, that's a classic for the younger crowd.

Another vote for Lovecraft. Don't assign the more overtly racist stories (like The Rats in the Walls, where he names his cat Niggerman because it's black), let them read those on their own while you assign one or two of the more subtle/introductory stories.

I also second the suggestion for My Side of the Mountain and further recommend Hatchet and Brian's Winter.

Unfortunately, you'd get fired if you recommended manga portraying nigger behavior in orcs and other monsters, such as Goblin Slayer, because they flat out depict goblins being arrogant little shits who murder and rob people, rape women, and even the children have to be exterminated because otherwise they'll just grow up to do the exact same shit.

But you COULD, say, drop a cheap thumb drive with links to where you can read manga for free in a text file, and leave it where a student could find it. Along with pdf's of less acceptable books like Mein Kampf, Generation Identity, Also Sprach Zarathustra, etc.

Starship Troopers is a great and subtle redpill on duty, most definitely. Farnham's Freehold is another subtle redpill on niggers; the first half discusses race relations in the early 60's and features all the white characters talking about how important it is not to treat the token nigger differently… and then the rest of the book has niggers take over the world, whites are slaves, and the blacks are all cannibalistic bastards that the heroes eventually escape and swear to prevent the rise of. Total 180 in attitude, and it does so rather subtly, especially showing how the token black is ungrateful for the years of kind and equal treatment and turns out to be just as much of a pompous savage as the rest.

Ender's Game is another good. The rest of the series I didn't care for, but the first book is fantastic. The first chapter, where he completely and totally destroys a bully (unknowingly killing him in the process) in front of his friends and then threatens to do the same to them, one by one, even if they beat him up, because "I didn't just want to win that fight, I wanted to win all the future fights and be left alone", is a GREAT lesson for kids, as is the fact that Ender has to rely on himself and not go running to others for help every time.

I've only seen the movie and was disappointed at how he was regretful of winning against the aliens and how he saved an alien at the end. Is it different in the book? Because otherwise it kind of cucks out towards the end.

I've just read the first couple chapters of Goblin Hunter and I'm entertained. I just hope it doesn't get soft towards the end with some sort "not all Goblins" arc.

I'll definitely pick up Farnham's Freehold. It sounds like a genuinely pro-racism novel. I wonder how the idea of blacks oppressing whites in novel looks compared to modern "equality."

It seems most racism stories have a character go from being racist to non-racist. A good racism novel would probably have to do the opposite and do the arc in reverse.

Pound's economic writings. I wish I had read them 10 years earlier.
