Old Baltic tribes, split off from the general proto-Baltic-Slavic bunch in the early ADs, lived in pic related pretty much unperturbed until about 1100AD. Their general tech level was roughly on par with the Scandinavians for the most part, but they hadn't seen much contact with Christianity besides some border wars with the Rus states.

Prussians got invaded and conquered in about a hundred years by successive waves of German crusaders and migrants, and were completely assimilated by the 1400s.

The northern four tribes along with the finnic Aests and Livonians got conquered by the Livonian order. Took them about 90 years all said and done, with much backstabbing and turncoating inbetween as the small states converted to christianity and back, became vassals and rebelled. In the end the Curonians, Semigallians, Selonians, Latgallians and Livonians were all conquered along with the Estonians in the north about whom I don't know much. The Germans set up shop permanently and most of the land went to the Teutonic order, the rest to some bishoprics. Northern parts of Estonia got snagged by the Danes, I believe, but eventually went to the Germans. The whole thing was then known as Livonia - split it in half and you get Latvia (speaking Latvian, which is what the Baltic language evolved in the presence of German) and Estonia (speaking the finnic language of their ancestors) of today.

Finally, the parts that did not get conquered by any of the Christian powers were unified under the Lithuanian tribe. They flirted with Christianity on and off, but due to the forested nature of the Baltics never got conquered. As the Mongols - who had conquered pretty much all the Rus states - got weak in the 14th century, the Lithuanians expanded southward and eastward, conquering pretty much all the Russian states in what is today Belarus and Ukraine. In the late 1300s they got into a personal union with Poland. After that it's just the usual Euro politics.

I had the impression that chasing out invaders was a specialty of theirs – it's reflected in their coat of arms, after all (my favorite of any coat of arms, it's totally h'white and badass). They were the last European nation to be converted to Christianity, too, so I think they're a good role model for retaining identity in the face of coercion and kikery (not that I really have anything against Catholicism in its best days).
