I'm not 100% certain, but I'm pretty sure the name only displays if you can already see some portion of the character. It can be some super small portion of the character though which will make it easier to spot them but spotting people is far from a challenge in this anyway because of the outline glow, the aimhack abilities and the loud ass footsteps and ability callouts. It is a thing that is dumb and probably shouldn't be in the game but it's not a particularly significant issue.

The gameplay I saw had balconies, rooftops, and a couple pathways to get to the goal. While I agree that this is a problem, I see linear chokepoint maps on TF2 maps as well, namely Dustbowl.

This IS a little disheartening. However, I wonder if their intention was that you would learn to master one character of each class. Still, a little unsettling. A scout in TF2 is lightweight, but is capable of dealing with every class if the player is skilled enough.

Honestly, this is a double-edged sword. While I bet players would love to do the mission on their own and smear shit on player's faces, the emphasis on teamwork can humble some players. Then again, they could anger teammates that are trying hard but have teammates that are screwing around in ranked.

Took me 1000 hours in TF2 to become the pub stomper I am today. Don't see why this shouldn't be possible in Overwatch.

And why shouldn't you be able to kill several classes with one class? Soldier 7something can easily deal with Genji, Tracer, Reaper etc. And vice versa.

You mean one of the worst designed maps in TF2? Also good luck jumping on those rooftops, devs already stated that 90% of those roofs are unable to be stood on for "balance" reasons.

You can be the best "insert class here" and still lose because class counters are so hard in this game you might as well just continuously counter an enemy at class selection.

The game has:

1. Multiple Stuns or Control removers
2. Heavily relies on Class vs Class balance rather then Player vs Player
3. Multiple braindead instant kills
4. Multiple AOE instant kills
5. No advanced mobility

If this doesnt throw a red flag up to you as a competitive player, you need to learn. Also 1000 hours is nothing compared to my (mildly-regrettable) competitive TF2 experience.

Often enough to know I basically never got killed by Scouts as a Soldier or Heavy unless there were other enemies surrounding me as well/I was already half dead/I didn't care enough to play properly.

This faggot class usually can't do that much more than killing half-deads.

Literally rocketjump away with Gunboats, preferably towards a medpack location, shoot him once in the air and he'll either flee or get killed the next 5 seconds trying to get close to you again shooting you unless he is lucky enough to hit you with that blood effect butcher knife or baseball maybe.
