I'll lose my hope after it's been TWELVE YEARS since HL2 EP2 came out.
Also I don't know the Valve's staff, to be serious I haven't even followed anything gaming related for years so I'm behind pretty much everything, but I remember watching a video about new source engine. It looked pretty detailed and hard, if they're making a HL game it would be harder to make and take more time than HL2.
I also remember that Marc left the Valve. But perhaps he wrote the HL3 and then left? He had enough time to do that.
