i think everyone's path is different, but the general advice is to stick through it and try to figure out what is causing you so much discomfort. for me it what it took was consistenly hitting rock bottom and during those times doing acid and doing some hardcore self analysis. i had to realize that I wasn't special and that my life had little value.
