After Gen 2 other games of the same generation had way more fluid art. You don't even need to get into vanillaware tier stuff to find superior stuff. Even non-GF spinoffs had better animations where the whole body actually moved and there was more frames.

There's always Fighting -> Dark -> Psychic. Only issue is that Dark is immune to Psychic attacks, but Psychic is cool so it doesn't matter
Alternatively they could scrap the system and have Fast + tricky -> Mixed attacker -> Mixed wall, but that might not work out well early on. Something like Cottonee -> Natu -> Munchlax, with better choices for pokemon.
Or we could scrap it entirely and just have 3 unrelated types. There was a Fire Red romhack that nearly did this, with Elekid, Magby and Smoochum. Just have Normal -> Electric -> Fairy, or Fire -> Electric -> Fighting

I don't remember a lot of slowdown in B/W. At least, not as obvious and jarring as 6th gen with 3D on. Haven't played B/W since it came out though.

I wish there were still other monster collection games that weren't awful around. Telefang translation never ever, Digimon is alright but the way to get mons is grind harder and SMT is less about the collection, more about the smashing and killing.

To watch the cutscenes in (not really) 3D. I dunno, there were some scenes that looked good while in 3D, but I turn it off the rest of the time, especially if it was a triple battle or horde encounter.

Sprite rotation is shit where character animation's concerned. It just feels like a cheap copout.

To be fair user, I'm pretty sure nobody would be happy with a main-series pokemon game with a region comprised of some rocks and an airstrip.

That shit would be perfect in a Pokemon Ranger game tho
