I knew this game would be bad, certainly, though I expected to shrug and pirate it to fill with mods, and see if it could be made moderately entertaining that way.

This is literally just Point Lookout 2.0. It was the only good DLC released for Fallout 3, so they took the easy way out and rehashed it conceptually and visually.
The Pit was only okay from an aesthetic and unique in that it provided the only moral choice of merit in the whole of Fallout 3. Mechanically it's shit and linear as fuck.

Yeah but at least it was an area you were mostly free to explore, another slice of open world to wander about in, which is the only thing Fallout 4 is good for.

I agree about the pit though. There wasn't much to do really but it was a nice area and the weapons and apparel were the best in fallout 3
Far Harbor looks like they took the same assets from the main game and hoped no one would notice instead of developing a new area. At least the Fallout 3 dlc's tried something different

That's likely, a lot of The Commonwealth was swamp and water already. Everything surrounding Fallout 4 kind of screams of laziness and easy cash, so the fact that they reused assets to such an extensive degree doesn't surprise me at all.

I somewhat enjoyed parts of Fallout 3 and actually liked Skyrim but I've never been able to gather up a single grain of interest for Fallout 4. It's wlays looked like complete shit and it still looks like it now, I don't know how anyone can pay for it even if you just compare to fucking Fallout 3 instead of anything good. Even the idea of mods doesn't make it seem anymore appealing, it's complete and total trash.

I don't see how anyone can get excited for this. Gameplay wise, there's nothing new, and from the base game and the DLC we've seen that they can't write for shit, so they story sure as hell won't be something unforgettable
