Naive christian thinking he will reach shit in reformism, a kidna comfy old man with little crazy opinions but dont we all have them. His son is a failure tho and should shoot up congress.

hypocrite

Better than any of the present day ruling classes. Ron Paul NEVER had a chance through.

I supported him in 2008 and 2012 given he was strongly anti war, imperialism, druf war, etc.

Real anarchists don't support the tyranny of private business.

oh please, like id believe anything you commies told me

He's a meme.

remember kids knowledge is power

so don't read to boost that victim complex

come back when you can afford a real tank, pinko faggot.

Your flags are all shit too.

Praise be to brother Ron-ud-deen Paul, loyal friend of the janjaweed and defender of the free market of Darfur.

govtrack.us/congress/votes/110-2007/h764

Corporitto Fascinetto Supremo

Is Darfur one of the 50 states? This is a curious thing to link. Aren't leftists anti-imperialist?

Market socialist who thinks he's a capitalist because he doesn't know what capitalism and socialism are. Like all libertarians.

market socialists don't have a fetish for markets, we're just pragmatic.

Following his failure to get the GOP nomination, and subsequent retirement from Congress in January 2013, Paul wanted to get a website off the ground. In March 2013 he tried to buy RonPaul.com: a site run since 2008 by his supporters. Paul had once owned the site but lost it in August 2012 after failing to pay renewal fees. The site's current owners soon after acquired the rights to own the site.

In response to his request to buy the site, the owners very nicely offered to give Paul RonPaul.org, another domain name they own, absolutely free. As for RonPaul.com, they offered to give him that for $250,000. Instead, he refused both offers and went to the World Intellectual Property Organization (a United Nations agency) to lodge an intellectual property complaint in an attempt to control both without paying a dime.

That's right, Ron Paul went to the United Nations: a global organization that he has constantly said America should renounce and leave. Paul isn't so hateful of it after all or he wouldn't use it to get involved in a matter that he apparently has no faith in the free market to handle.

The WIPO dismissed the complaint. In a hilarious twist, they also found Paul guilty of "reverse domain name hijacking" for ignoring the very reasonable offers the site owners gave him. Furthermore, Paul's attempts to lie about the site being used to benefit from his name and likeness were shot down. It was apparent the domain owners were obviously using the site to help spread news and information about Paul as opposed to exploiting him for personal gain as he claimed.

Following this damaging legal haymaker, Paul abandoned the attempt to seize the site and instead launched a website with a different domain name: something he should have considered doing in the first place. Despite destroying practically all his credibility in claiming to support a free market, Ron still uses his site as a soapbox to preach about the wonders of a free market based on compromise, volunteerism, and non-aggression.

As to be expected, many of his supporters still attempt to justify his underhanded behavior. Sadly, no amount of deflection or justification can disprove that this incident shows Paul lacks any principles and consistency where his ideal free market is concerned. This indisputably makes him no less respectable or honorable than many other American politicians in office who he accuses of using the same tactics he did to get what they want.

In a textbook case of denial, the owners of RonPaul.com still refuse to accept Paul could treat them like crap.

lmao

I just screen caped your post.

it's absolutely golden!

I respect him for at least having some ideological integrity. Also because the issues he was loudest about are the ones we share common ground on (imperialism, gov surveillance, criminal justice, war on drugs). Other lolberts see muh evil leftists as the central problem with society.

These days I have actually respect any libertarian that don't suck Trump's cock or spread their ass for alt-right autists (like so many of them have). Unlike Stefan Molyneux, at least Ron Paul isn't a "libertarian" copcuck.

It's also fun to watch Gary Johnson or Reason magazine trigger the alt right lolberts into sperging out how they're "hurr durr too liberal, not TRUE lolberts like trump and pinochet".

Someone post this on /liberty/

I like him except for his economic policies. He is a bit of a tin foil hatter.

Reminder that is worthless to debate with right wingers, nazis, lolbertarians, ancaps, conservatives.

The only groups that are worth to convince are center or the center left.

I hate Ron Paul for popularizing Aynclapism lolbertism.
I have him for releasing the altright.
meme tier ideology useless old cunt.

but quite a few people here are former lolbers, nazis and right wingers

Don't think they came here because they got owned on in internet discussion board tanko.

likeable kook
good meme

Hilariously naive. He wants to go back to the days of "unregulated free market capitalism" despite already admitting to the fact that the old days of bourgeois liberal capitalism already contain the seeds of a "crony capitalist" society. For him and libertarians like him, the solution then is to have a vigilant libertarian society, always ensuring that "crony capitalism" doesn't once again overtake "the free market". The joke is that if they can't revolt and "restore" the "free market" now, there is even less chance of establishing revolt regularly. Therefore, libertarians like him have no actual solutions for "turning back the clock", only musings.

Furthermore, I don't need to explain why "the good old days" of capitalism was absolute dogshit anyway. He engages in Austrian pseudo-economics and historical revisionism so he can pretend they were "good old days" anyway.

Former lolbert here. I came after reading Marx.

I do have a fair amount of respect for him. I generally think libertarians have some value when it comes to social issues and civil liberties. I could definitely have a decent discussion and debate with one as opposed to the retrograde fascist populists which have been popping up a lot recently. Economics though, not so much.

When you extend the definition of 'liberty' to encompass absolute unregulated ownership of private property, you're instantly giving people the ability to infringe on the liberty of other; it's easy to see the logical conclusion to that path.

you know you are one book away from being a communist right? you are an idiot right now but if you read more you will understand just how right that giant autist marx was about everything.

Even more retarded than neoliberals.

I'll need to look it up but he at one point put his name on a letter to congress about why they should support military intervention in another country

i might take that argument in the pic more seriously if the BLM wasn't just going to sell all the land or mining rights out to the highest bidder

Ron Paul was a politician with psudeo-lolbert views and a country doctor charm who managed to gain a following of autistic followers by spouting slogans against muh gubbermint. His record shows that he was fine putting in pork to bills that would pass but he would personally vote against and shows that his principles weren't as important as material benefit. As his son is a poor imitation to the paultards, most of his followers have jumped on the trump train because muh browns and no one but the truest of true believers will give a shit about him in a few years.

Overall, a pretty shit guy looking to make the status quo of capitalism revolutionary by yelling "freedom" and "liberty".

love dat libertarian phase

Non-interventionism, Drug liberalization, and limiting government. Bretty gud.

A fetish for Randian-Capitalism, and a few too many right-wing ideas. Not so much.

6/10 could be worse.

this. i don't think he's The Answer but i think i'd still prefer him for a term just to at least slightly upset the liberal/conservative business-as-usual a little bit

Don't forget his support for backing several rightist coups in the '70s and '80s. He's full of shit on his supposed principles.

Have you got sources are you just making shit up?

Fully reactionary corporate fascist.

Damn son. I enjoyed reading Marx, but not quite that much.

DON'T GO THERE

comrade dore on libertarianism

Like most libtards he's a well-meaning person who can't see past his pure idealogy but unlike most he doesn't seem to turn to fascism when the glorious free market shows it faults.

why are so many lolberts so spooked when this guy is their idol?

is it exactly that? is he seen more as just a figure for their ideology rather than an actual person to actually listen to?

Is such a thing even possible?

ron paul is redpilled (and i mean actually redpilled) af when it comes to our relationship with the middle east. youtube.com/watch?v=bzbEWYi_CI8

This tbh
he's become such a meme'd figure he practically only exists within that context

omg that rationalwiki article is funnier than encyclodramatica article on him

in the first sentence XD

Jesus the fuck was I thinking…

The thing is, he is a meme himself.
He is part of the political spectacle, to talk about him as if the spectacle was reality is disingenuous.
