XCOM2 Alien Hunters DLC

It's fucking nothing.

I hate these niggers. We got what, ONE patch by now? A patch that made pointless balance changes and basically fixed shit that shouldn't have been broken in the first place.

It's nice to see how much confidence the devs have in their game. Cocksuckers.

How much did you pay for the game user?

it was 90$ Canadian buckaroos
hope no one here paid that much

I got a Slav key like I always do, so 30€.

But I decided to only pirate games from here on out.

and nothing of value was lost

But that's XCOM baby hurr durr

Yea, something about the hit calculation is way off.

How come the snake is white and has horns?

I guess that's how Firaxis envisioned the elite sneks.

I believe it's supposed to be a male. Snek shitters eat your heart out.

I think you might be right. It doesn't have eyelashes, after all.

Ahhahaha what a bunch of niggers:
twitter.com/SolomonJake/status/728632915295387648

You deserve what you get. If your so impatient that you can't wait for them to release the finished game then at least pirate instead of paying for a half finished game then being charged for the other half.

...

It's less about modern releases being shit and more about the devs managing to be both lazy (no patches in between DLC) and retarded (see tweet) with it. Instead of improving the game, they make it actively worse.

The hype threads for this piece of shit were cancer incarnate. I hope some of those faggots learned something from this.

description says they're male

If you miss 4 80% in a row then you're just an unlucky sod. The hit calculation is fine, the entire system is built on RNG. Only reason I like the game is because I'm a masochist that enjoys getting put in shit situations because of things out of my control.

Just give the rights back to Gollop so he can make the Apocalypse he always wanted to make.

I like XCOM 2 but I'm waiting for a good mod to make it as good as Long War.

A shame they pulled a San Andreas, and basically took away any sense of moral ambiguity from any conflict by making the enemy deliberately evil, and your side absolutely good.

It belongs in the trash.

ZERO

I just use friends who actually bought the game to get me shit off the workshop

What in the unholy fuck?
Why would I pay for that?

Have you not followed OpenApoc, user?

openapoc.org/

I really hope they don't die a slow death though.

I have followed it. Everyone involved with that project is based.
That being said, Gollop himself said the end result wasn't what he imagined it to be. I'd like to see him get the rights to X-Com so he can make his ideal Apoc without anyone getting in his way.

Someone post the lewds.

I went back to longwar after a bit of playing Xcom 2, it's just not fun or challenging.

Compared to all the stuff enemy within added to XCOM1 this is just weak.

And now this piss poor excuse for 9.99. I'm guessing they just didn't give a fuck about XCOM 1 and let the devs do what they wanted, it was a side project for that crappy XCOM Bureau game. Now they brought in the "experts" and the marketting guys and the game sucks balls.

why did they botch the close quarter % to hit calculation

Especially for units on adjacent cover, that was especially ruined

Also did this shit game even get good mods or was the whole MODS WILL FIX IT deal not amount to anything?

For there to be mods, the game has to be fun first. As far as I can tell, NuCom 2 hasn't been that.

Not that kind of Queen.

Did they finally patch performance?

Meh.
XCOM 2 is stupid in a way.

in XCOM, you had the support of the ENTIRE WORLD and massive funds and facilities. But in XCOM2 you have 2-3 scientists in a single cramped lab.
And they unravel alien technolgies in a few days.

A proper guerilla game should be one where you NEVER get the fancy-shamcy tech. The research would simply take too long.

Instead you are using purely human-made weapons and tech. You enhance it, but basically it's just kinetics and laz0rs for the entire game.
You start with basic guns, but when those are not that effective, you create new, higher-caliber guns. And you constantly research to upgrade them. Better rifling. More efficient propellant/powder. Anti-recoil systems. Tons of attachments. Etc..

Did they fix the performance problems?

it's a pc exclusive, they don't have to do that

This isn't comparable to enemy within you fucking retard
This isn't enemy within 2, it's operation slingshot 2
Jesus fuck is this how stupid Holla Forums is now, to get all pissy that a small dlc isn't the same as a big expansion

Sorry, user, but Gollop is a sham. The original X-Com games were only good because his publishers shat all over him. Nowadays, he's busy being a huge SJW.

He's basically Tim Schaeffer, but less outspoken and not very popular.

OpenApoc soon

The rest of your post is invalid, because there have been confirmed issues with the number displayed to the player. Some fudged numbers are actually even intentionally showing you the wrong value, with hidden bonuses/penalties that you should probably look into, i.e. your soldiers are easier to hit if you have more soldiers on the field, your soldiers are harder to hit in the same turn you've been shot, etc.

So I guess with this one still being sort of rough I'll go ahead and play Terror From the Deep instead. I plan to watch this but besides that is there really anything I need or need to keep in mind before enjoying the game? I don't know if DOS games could be modded so I doubt there's anything for me to download for it, or is there?

Mind if you link us the source? To my knowledge the only false readings it gives you are the silly miss streak and rookie aim bonuses which both can be turned off via .ini files or playing on Legendary.

It's been running better but not by much on my end but mods have proven to cause memory issues. Just keep the voice mods to a minimum and you should be fine if your rig is at least half decent.

>OpenApoc soon
Please user, I already fapped today.

OpenXcom can play TFTD user.

"Mods will fix it" was a blatant lie. The best we can hope for is some quality of life shit like fixing the retarded health bars. That's it.

...

Firstly, enemy within was a 30 dollar expansion pack and not a 10 dollar dlc.

Secondly the content of the first x-com dlc was way smaller. It was basically just three missions and one extra soldier. Compared to the older one they actually improved a lot on the content side.

But of course, the content has to be good. The ruler aliens seem way too overpowered. The rest looks fine though.

Just get good :^)

...

In the old games, losing a rookie or ten wasn't such a big deal.

...

I paid 50€

And i had fun with it.

Oops. Didn´t mean to sage.

It's a man.

...

I hope they make a Xenonaughts 2.

Its in development actually.
Long War mod devs are also working in their game along with new mods for NuCom2.

I really liked how you have to deploy and send planes around the world to shoot down ayy's and even had a minigame for it, though 99% most of the time is pretty good.

Never got my base invaded but doing some base raids is pretty cool. I just wished they were more mod friendly, your armor looked like shit imo. Also I wish you can help develop more nations for their standard infantry and regular response time. I did notice that other countries soldiers weapons did change over time during terror attacks which was neat.

I forgot to mention that the airplane art looked really cool and was cool to read.

Yep, just got it working. So, any particular Openxcom mods worth getting? Pretty excited to jump in but I figure I might as well get all the neat stuff before doing that.

actually, might as well ask for the worthwhile mods for UFO Enemy Unknown while I'm at it.

The only thing XCOM2 is really good at is making a sweet looking squad.

Rate my alien annihilators:

The final mission was a breeze, given who I had on the team and everyone was rocking blaster launchers or flamers.

Killed first avatar.
Two avatars appear with lots of escorts and attacked me at once.
Chuck Norris overwatch - execution, one hit kill. I think Serious Sam (or maybe it was Doomguy?) got the other one, again with an execution.
Repeaters OP.

Base defense is fun.

Also, Xenonauts is very moddable, but graphics are harder.

Have some fun base defense. Most fun is at 22:15

The final mod pack mixes a ton of mods together for Ufo Defense, I'm pretty sure that OpenXcom comes with some mods out of the box for both Ufo Defense and TFTD though.

If you think that looks cool, you should check out the mod that lets you use civilian outfits. Nothing like butchering the aliens while dressed in a suit or tie, or your battle waifus trotting around in high heels and shiny fashion pants.

Did they actually fix the technical problems that this pos had after launch? All that shit made me drop the game back then.

It runs better than before but still has FPS drops.

I can play on everything on maximum without much trouble which I couldn't do before though.

I prefer operators and functional equipment to shiny, over-designed armor and weapons.

Street clothing isn't over-designed armor and weapons, but to each their own I suppose.

But its completely inappropriate and silly.

i don't have an issue with the rolls the issue i had with the game was demanding that i get 3 blocks down the street in 6 turns

you must leave people behind to even complete the mission at times. i've read that they patched some shit dealing with that but i've never went back to the game after the first week.

XCOM2 is probably one of the fastest dying games I've ever seen.

Even the porn factories are working on a skeleton crew.

What mod is this?

So what are some similar games of the genre, that actually feel like they've taken risks and not just prettied up an iOS "Strategy" game?

I played invisible inc and I really liked that in spite of its simplicity. How's Hard West, Banner Saga and Valkaryie Chronicles? Any recommendations that aren't Open XCOM because I've played that way too much and Apocalypse because I'm waiting on OpenApoc? The UFO series maybe?

there's a mod to fix that :^)

that would be brink or evolve

Well, as is typical for Firaxis, they have done nothing to support the game.

Everything in the game is inappropriate and silly.

The one I made(guns and aircraft - Tactical Rebalance mod) + a few others (like breaching UFO's and stuff.

It's been so long I forgot what I called the mod. I had to search for it myself.
