Same here. Touchscreen control for anything more intense than say, Professor Layton or Ace Attorney type games got uncomfortable after a half hour or so. Not so much for the hand using the touchscreen, but the hand holding the unit itself. I could never find a good solution for that, but maybe emulating it on an actual full-size touchscreen I don't have to physically hold in place would finally make those games comfortable to play. I've long had the screen, the problem was the emulating.

Being able to emulate a 3DS (and eventually a Wii U) with a much higher internal resolution etc. is cool shit, even for someone like me who already owns both a Wii U and a 3DS.

I would say it would allow me to continue playing the newer games without supporting Nintendo's current streak of censorship and such, but I do already have a cracked 3DS and the Wii U is now cracked up to the latest firmware as well (though I'm still waiting for a more elegant solution and guide). Maybe once it can run decently enough on the old integrated graphics I've got like a good chunk of Gamecube/Wii games can, but last I recall Citra still pretty much requires a supercomputer due to its early state.

I've already long since had a hacked _2DS anyways so anything Citra could provide in terms of rom hacks/texture hacks and whatnot I can already do with homebrew tools. We'd be really cookin' if we could do N3DS emulation at Dolphin/near-Dolphin speeds.

Probably since they've had hacked ones for quite a while now so they don't see the point in it for them specifically, combined with the cheap price-point of a secondhand 3DS or an even cheaper 2DS.

I guess in that respect it'd be like buying a PSP versus just using PPSSPP for similar reasons, you can do more with the one in your hands like take it places without a laptop and you don't have to deal with bugs/inaccuracies not present in the physical system. Speaking from my own experience with the program because it's run acceptably on crap refurb office computers from 2002-2005 I've scabbed from a couple places and the only thing it's chugged with on my own more recent ~2010 prebuilt is Jak & Daxter and Ratchet & Clank: Size Matters, both in high-activity areas with a lot of shit on the screen at once, along with being super-bright for no particular reason in Sonic Rivals 2 which is a fault of the emulator and not my clunker machine. I mostly use it to play Dissidia 012 and a couple other things.

The only problem I have with some of the emulators I tried was a latency between the controls and the action, made a bit more obvious with wireless controllers. Otherwise, despite being a shitty platform, Android has a metric fuckton of emulation options and it's pretty good for JRPGs/SRPGs on the go.

also will mention that there are other cool shits to come from emulation like being able to turn off filters in certain engines like mupen64 and dolphin, and also netplay which works very well in emulators/collections of emulators like mednafen and mamehub. did you know im playing metroid prime (wii) with mouse and keyboard at the moment? it really has gotten to the point where emulation has completely replaced the actual consoles, near 100 percent accuracy in many older popular systems like nintendo and genesis. AND pcs too. now instead of a soundcard, i use soundfonts. FluidR3 is amazing. i see no reason to use hardware anymore unless its emulation scene really is a mess like sega saturn and nintendo 64 (though playing 64 games on the original hardware is definitely not better than a couple graphical glitches)

if your idea of accuracy is only cycle accuracy maybe, i don't know of any other emulator with such goals, but i don't think that is a fair assumption. what does something like snes9x for example not emulate perfectly? and bsnes is expensive on resources for an snes emulator but will run on just about any machine made in the past 6 years including laptops

the gamecube version has awful controls though. like holding right trigger just to aim (or using left trigger which obviously snaps onto enemies and objects taking away all control), as opposed to the wii version which aims where you would have aimed the controller. plus i would have to play with a controller. also i don't remember if the gamecube version had it, but the wii version has harder difficulty levels
