Wakfu: Best Iop Edition

All 13 episodes have aired and can be found on the pastebin.

The Softsub team is only up to episode 6, so you'll have to download the raws and apply quicksubs through VLC if you want to watch it all.

What do you think about the Ankama staff saying that they weren't sure if a S4 would happen, so they left things wide open.. potentially meaning they have no idea what was supposed to happen after the end of S3.

Was it cuckhold? Was it not? If it wasn't, what about the other 2 parties involved?

Oropo entirely intended to cuck Lady Echo with Amalia. Amalia perceived it as merely kissing a more mature, identical copy of Yugo, so at best, she partially cucked the real Yugo

...

dosnt this already have a thread?

It's autosaging.

That's not how this works, women don't get to redefine reality based on how they feel.

...

Well, it was still only a kiss, which she only did under the false pretense that Oropo was the same person as Yugo, just older and wiser but she was a dumb cunt for a few minutes there.

Season 3 felt rushed as if Tot wanted to do 3 plots into 1. The ending is confusing, but I hope if Ankama was enough funds that season 4 will explain it.

I've watched only up to 11 and how is it rushed? I guess they should have gone through all the races' floors.

I really wished they could have delved a bit more into the demigods of each floor. I wanted Ankama to give us more info on the new demigods. But furthermore. I expected to see the gods.

I'm glad we got something out of Ruel. Turns out he is probably older than Joris and a demigod. Or just so fucking jewish that was capable of ascending to maximum hebrew

I just finished it and I have no fucking clue what happened. Who got created when Yugo used the Dofus? Was it all of the Eliatropes or just some clones from alternate timelines or something? If it was all of them, then were the children in S2 also just clones of Yugo somehow? What exactly did the demigods think Oropo was trying to do at the beginning? They all knew that he was trying to replace the old gods, so why were they that surprised when he said he was going to kill them? Was it because they didn’t want him to blow up the Inglorium? And what did get blown up at the end? Was it just Oropo’s pocket universe, or was it the whole Krozmos? Was that zoom-out at the end supposed to imply that the Inglorium was empty?

We got a Sacrier at the last moment, but I think she had a single line and didn't do shit. Would have really liked to see all of them fighting together. The Pandawa was forgotten about, and so was Count Harebourg for that matter. Toxine got tossed in the mystery hole, but she was such a bitch that no one cared. There was no Cra because that was supposed to be Flopin…

So let's see
Cra - None/Flopin
Iop - Dark Vlad/Elely
Feca - Black Bump
Ecaflip - Ush
Enutrof - Arpagone/Ruel
Pandawa - What's his name
Sram - Toxine (dead)
Enripsa - Lady Echo
Osamodas - Coqueline
Sacrier - Unnamed
Xelor - Count Harebourg (Tot literally forgot they put him in)
Sadida - Dathura

There was a guy in the other thread who insisted otherwise and kept saying watch Season 2, but they weren't EliAtropes, they were EliOtropes, who have been given some lore in the MMO that claimed they didn't have souls, which is why they all looked like Goth Clowns. Oropo explains that he IS Yugo. He's not just an angry Eliotrope who wants to be Yugo, and Yugo confirms that when he activated the 6 Dofuses, he saw versions of himself which were his past lives. The Eliotropes were reflections of Yugo's past lives given quasi-life by the Dofuses. Each time one faded away, the other got his share of power and lifespan, kinda like an Avatar state thing. Eventually, when Yugo was born, the remaining Eliotropes who had been scattered through history started feeling and having all the memories Yugo was having, because they are Yugo. When all the others died, only Oropo was left and he had the power of every last Eliotrope, plus all of Yugo's memories and feelings (which is why he wanted Amalia so bad), plus the experience and power of being alive for a few centuries. — All that said, I THINK all the child Eliatropes who got sent to the pocket universe when Quilby destroyed their planet are still alive.. but the Dofuses and the Eliacube are both gone, presumably, so that's gonna make it harder to free them.

As for everything else.. Short answer because this is already a long post: My best guess was that they assumed he'd do something with the Cube and the Dofus and then they'd either fight the Gods or steal their powers. Considering how murky and unclear certain things were (like whether or not it was a pocket dimension or the entire Krozmos that got elianuked) it's hard to say how they expected to pull that off. Best I can guess, since most of them were immortal anyways, he planned on blowing up Inglorium and then having his Demi-Gods rule as the new Gods in the mortal world.

so do Amalia and Yugo get together and is Elf mother back with best family?

Now if only we have a talented user that compress each episode into a 12mb webm.

They do and Pinpin gets wings. I think Ankama put the scene of Amalia kissing Oropo at an attempt to stir drama in Yugo and Amalia's relationship. At the end of the season ,the two act as if all is well. I feel at this point Ankama should produce some OVAs to tie up loose ends and fill in plot holes. They should start fresh with a different cast of characters.

At the end of the season, the fights felt a lot like a shonen anime, where both the villain and the main characters get powerups (escalation of power) and Oropo has a change of heart as well as the demigods.

Part of me really hopes that it really was the total Krozmos that got exploded at the end of the series, because that would mean they could reset the lore and start fresh without over a decade of plotholes, forgotten characters, retcons, and pissy employees leaving and taking entire plotlines with them. Only other option is some OVAs or in-between material set in the Xelorium, where they have to help the Gods unfuck the Eternal clock so Xelor can rewind time.

I think in general the seasons can be summarized as such:

Season 1: The Tightest of the seasons, with the most precise elements of the Series. Its much more a D&D travel story and that makes it great.

Season 2: Whilst less focused, and its worse parts were worse than Season 1, I also Liked it more. Like if Season 1s worst and Best aspects where a 3/10 and an 8/10 respectively, this had parts that were 4/10 and 9/10s. But Im not gonna argue anybody who liked this season less. This is the D&D characters at level 12-15 or so.

OVA Trilogy…The first part was probably the best. The rest is honestly mostly forgettable.

Season 3: Whilst I enjoy seeing these characters again, I do want it over and done with in a sense. To continue the analogy, the D&D characters are at the epic level….So kinda meh.

I would appreciate new ones. I like this world. I like this studio, I like the artsyle and the stories. But do a Jojo and let shit go new ways.

Unfortunately no. It was Oropo's dimension that was destroyed, so this is canon.

They needed to make that more clear, but I guess with the Eliacube and 6 Dofuses to draw on, he could create an entire pocket dimension. Having it look like an entire galaxy vanished into a black hole was awfully dramatic for a thing that ultimately didn't matter at all in the grand scheme of things.

Yeah that's true. I don't know now how Ankama is going to wrap everything up now.

At the very least, they get to spend some time exploring and expanding upon Inglorium. They get to show what the Gods are actually up to and what's been going on with them for the past few centuries. Dathura gets to return to her creator. Grovy either takes his place as the true God Iop or let's Goultard fully assume that position. Yugo will get a chance to discuss with the Gods some of the shit that happened with his people and maybe work out a way to let them live on the World of Twelve. After that last season, he's definitely going to have a lot of guilt about not living up to his role as a leader.

They're pretty much trapped in Heaven for the time being, so there's a lot of potential there for guiding the story.

If they get the money and the greenlight, but yeah I can see the potential.

Know what the biggest problem of season 3 is? The lack of this guy.

Think of all the money they saved not animating him. Frogs are morphing into jew incarnate

help

You're really putting too much faith in Tot to expect him to remember that Yugo is supposed to be training up to be the king of the eliakids. Season 2 was five years ago and he's done fuck all with that.

You have been visited by the Forgetful Frog of Lousy Lore and Shoddy Storytelling!
Plotholes and missing characters will come to you unless you type
GET YOUR SHIT TOGETHER TOT
in this thread!
Don't actually do this. It's always annoying when 50 people actually respond to that sort of shit.

Yugo is resisting racemixing with Amalia.
Does this mean that Yugo is "our guy"?

Honestly I expected Season 3 to be really great, but it was okay though Ankama could have done better with the villains. What and how do you guys think the OVAs or Season 4 should play out? Also no more lops and I cannot believe they gave Pinpin wings

If anything it just goes to show you how much they want to animated the story from the mmo. I'm honestly surprised they don't just drop the mmo already and develop a game, if they did that their funding for the show would skyrocket with the market share being in favor of their brand, and not some shitty niche mmo only 3 frogs play. It's what the fans want, but not what they want sadly.

Sage for double post.
You can find the download and the viewing for it on kimcartoon dot me.
I don't know any other websites that have it, but just make sure you have adblock and you use a burner email.
Ankama has made it tough as shit to get your hands on that animation. From what I heard, it was so fucking edgy, that years later Ankama is making sure no one knows it exists.

The only things I want from Season 4 are a new cast and for a qt osa girl to be in that cast.

No, because I would have buried my dick in her years ago.

Fucking frogs. They can shove up degenerate porn shit even in a toddler cartoon, but OH MY GOD NOT BLOOD ON A 13 RATED ONE, PLEASE NO!

Leave the brotherhood of tofu in Inglorium and make muh nigga Chibi the main character

Actually it's more autistic than that. It has a bunch of sheep eating a dead body whole. Goultard's harem of wives are all hanging dead alongside his children.
He fights a blood be- 'Sacrier" and then impales the guy who is for some god forsaken reason, possessed by a strange demon. To then become the new host to the demon and reign as a godless warlord call Goultard the impaler.
It even has the heads of random wakfu and dofus waifu races on the hilts of blades.
It's fucking edgy

I hope we get a Dofus Book II, the first one was pretty enjoyable.

Ankama please stop.

The madmen.

Everytime they've developed standalone games, things have gone badly. Les Gardiens had to be removed from existence because of legal disputes. Islands of Wakfu vanished from the xbox store and never returned, leaving only the people who have the game installed with a means of playing it. There was that Fly'N game that sold like shit because it was another 2D puzzle platformer.

The problem with the MMOs is that they are happening concurrently, meaning the lore is a fucking mess because anytime they add something to Wakfu, it needs to be added to Dofus and vice versa, which would be fine if they didn't pretend to have a storyline and a larger timeline that ties all these events and characters together… But maybe they could run a story-rich, event-driven MMO that allows players to feel like they are a part of these events as they unfold… Except Ankama keeps overhauling their games every few months, focusing on cash shop sales, and doing retarded shit that only really rewards the few dozen turbospergs who rule their servers because they are the only ones who took the time to grind their way to the top.

Fuck off amerilard, that's how the civilized world thinks.

I think Wakfu has had it's run, it's been shitty fanfiction since the OVAs.

Holy fuck, this board is low energy as fuck. Even /test/ looks better than this.
Can't blame you fuckers entirely since the current state of comic books and cartoons is utter, boring cancer.

its a million times better than Holla Forumsmblr on cuckchan, though i havent checked in a good few years now

explain

cuck/co/ is worse

...

I haven't watched a "current" cartoon or read a "current" comic in years.
I just watch an old series after an old series. Just go through the wikipedia lists of western toons and then pirate anything that I have not watched yet.

Sure, but "x is better than Pure Cancer because at least it's not Pure Cancer" it's an obvious statement and sadly, doesn't make x any less boring.

Exactly, there's no new stuff worthy of discussion and there's nothing left to say about "old" cartoons and comics that hasn't already been said, hence the entropy of the board.
The most active threads are the ones who (rightfully) shit on the latest (((trash))) released, and people are forced to talk about old series from time to time so the board doesn't dies out of sadness, only to quickly abandon said threads, since there's nothing left to say, which brings us to talk about the latest piece of crap released, AGAIN. It's the Holla Forums scenario.
Not your fault, mind you.

Its not even that, even if a new cartoon/comic does come out that's good, no one ever talks about it. We got Wander Over Yander, no one talks about it; Motor City, no one talks about that; Boom!'s PR ,only three Anons talk about it; MLP, they have their own board; etc…

No one wants to talk about webcomics (when they actually update within a decade) or web animation, 8/co/ is more on terms of being early 2011 Holla Forums being angry at anything, with the additional sperg from Holla Forums or Holla Forums string shit up.

Bullshit
In an active community, there would always be somebody who is just watching a classic show for the first time, or is discovering one that has been forgotten by everybody. He'd want to share his thoughts, and other would want to shit on him for being wrong.
But nobody here wants to discuss anything. If I make a thread where I say
The only responses are gonna be
>Fuck off back to >>>Holla Forums
People on this board don't care about watching new stuff, forming opinions or proving anybody right or wrong anymore. The only value here is "being better than cuck/co/" which is treated as an axiom. Anything is better than cuck/co/. Facebook is better than cuck/co/, Somalian ad-hoc parliament is better than cuck/co/, a corpse of a moose is better than cuck/co/. Letter H is better than cuck/co/. The concept of intermolecular attraction is better than cuck/co/.

If you want a hugbox where everyone is nice then go back to tumblr.

Thanks for further proving that 8/co/ has no bearing on reality anymore and lives purely in its world of fantasy

We're still better than cuck/co/.

YUGO, YOU FUCKING IDIOT
SHE WAS RIGHT THERE
READY AND WILLING
AND THERE YOU GO WITH YOUR 'wah it'll never work between us' ANGSTY BULLSHIT WHEN SHE DOESN'T GIVE A FUCK ABOUT ANY OF THAT
GODDAMN IT

Yea, Yugo being an angsty faggot around Amalia seemed to be one of the themes with this season, Which pisses me off considering the reset of the
Brotherhood have a wife/husband now (Don't care about Adami, he most likly to join up with next season's villian at this rate). They should have had them work out their relationship problems and have them resolved by the end of this season. It would also show that Yugo can become more mature even though his body lags behind. I also came across this in the Usefull Links Pastebin.

tot-prod.blog/2017/09/19/premier-article-de-blog/

And this part right here from the article.

First end of season 3 and sequel to Wakfu: I would like to tell you about what I planned in terms of writing. For now, I plan on a season 4 and a season 5. I know, it's ambitious, but that's how I see things to finish telling a first very complete arch on the Tofu brotherhood . These two future seasons are extremely related to what we are working on on Dofus Cube (which you will get some news in the week). That said, at the end of season 3 I originally planned completely something else. Hang on to your handkerchiefs, I tell you:

Rather than in the Inglorium, the heroes returned to the world of the 12 in the Sadida kingdom. Amalia there learned of the death of his father the king, replaced by Armant in the direction of the kingdom. Amalia, conscious of her amorous problem with Yugo and not finding her place in her own country, proposes to Yugo to wait for her by "vegetalizing". The technique consists in turning into a tree and falling asleep ("Sleeping Beauty" mode). Amalia in "stasis", Yugo can take the time to grow old and get a man's body before waking her beautiful and living with her.

I loved that end but it was synonymous with "real end". We could have found our heroes 20 years later, much older, or tell stories without Amalia … The problem was there, we lost the Tofu brotherhood as we knew it … I admit to having thought a long time because every new season is more complicated to produce than the previous one. What we want to do no longer corresponds to the criteria of the TV channels … But in the end, full of hope, I thought that we will always find a solution to tell new adventures of our heroes!

I was hoping that they would leave Yugo and the Brotherhood in the Inglorium and start fresh with a new cast. Hell, I would go ahead and retcon the
Eliabomb to having wiped out the entire world of twelve instead of just Oropo's pocket dimention. This would get rid of any leagal and continuity issues had over the course of the Doufus/Wakfu games and series. But no, we have to keep following the Brotherhood, even though thier stories are concluded or almost concluded. I just dont see where you can find something new to explore with these charaters that has not already been done.

Just finished it, and for its flaws and wasted potential still like it a lot more than Season 2. Echo is too cute.

In retrospect, Season 3 was way too poorly planned and implemented to result in any long term changes to the lore and the setting. if Anakama could stop spinning so many plates and pull their focus in so they can work with one timeline, one era, one overarching plot, they could do some great shit. They could start fresh with a new MMO or give Wakfu a heavy overhaul to finally shed all the problems that have plagued it since beta. They could be free of all of the hanging plot threads and retcons and move forward to tell a far better story, now that they are far more skilled and experienced with these things.

As it stands right now, the way they've decided to handle Yugo's development ensures he will continue to be their goto protag for any and all world-shaking events.. which won't actually result in anything because the lore in the games is fucked up enough as it is.. and that means that we might never see his ascent to King Yugo where he frees all the Eliakids from the pocket dimension and allows all the other Dofus Eliatropes and Dragons to be reborn.. because yet again, that fucks up the lore because they doubled the number of Dofuses and Dragons with the Eliatropes added into the mix.

Much as I love the Brotherhood, you're right. All of them need to settle down or at least be ignored for a new cast. Make up some new threats that need to be solved by a new group now that the Brotherhood is out of the picture.

The best thing Ankama can do right now is a universe reset, I can't see them fixing this without somehow fucking up even more.

This

How can season 2 be possibly worse than trainwreck of a season 3?

It began the trainwreck.

Honestly? My expectations were probably too high going into Season 2, so I felt that much more burnt when it wasn't that great.

I want this more than a new season of Wakfu.

I think S2 was pretty great, better than S1.
Treasures > S2 > S1 > Julith > Ova > S3

I want that for Joris, though it will probably be some edgy shit like Julith book.

Looks like almost everything they wanted to put in that movie became material for Kerub's Treasures and the Julith Movie. The protag girl and her Ecaflip friend are clearly Simone and Julie, at least. The white haired guy seen with Joris is clearly Khan, but older looking.

Actually it's the other way around. It was going to be a 12 episode series of Joris taking care of Kerub and Atcham.
If you read about why it was cancelled it was fucking retarded. Apparently Ankama started drama with the Japanese animating companies since they were too overbearing so the project was buried.
With Ankama dumping it all on Yugo I'm sad we're never going to see a proper continuation for Kerub and Joris. Hell, even for some of the minor characters like maskemane. Man those frogs are retarded.

Hasn't Ankama started shit with every anime studio they've worked with? What's wrong with them

They're French.

why?

There is no why when it comes to those frog-legged, baguette chucking, mudslime and kike-loving bastards.

Have you never met a French person?
They're rude as fuck and will openly shit on non-French people, and like with Americans the ones that dwell in cities are particularly assholish.

no, what I'm asking is, why would anybody be french?

Only god knows, and he refuses to explain why they exist.

It must be something their ancestors did. Bringing a curse upon their lineage so that all who descended from them would bear the Franco Curse.

How was Julith edgy?

It showed blood :^)

So it's a short 13 episodes season? I hoped they'd do 26 again.

That's all they could get funding for.

They have this false sense of superiority instilled in them from childhood. It's like "muh freedom" in America, except with "muh culture".

Oh boy, I can't wait for another session of these sophisticated adults taking turns fellating the nation's ego on live tv.

Given the way they've been letting the EU run their country over the past decade, France has nothing to be proud of. Can't say America is doing great either, but that's an entirely different set of circumstances.

It was cancelled because France 3 wanted kiddie stuff so they made Kerubim instead.

Frenchfag here, you're not too far off, but it's actually just an hereditary disease.

Sucks to be you then, at least when you call a New Yorker out they'll backdown if you're loud enough or if you invite him for a hotdog.

Could I have the source for this? If I'm not mistaken after kerubim's success they made the movie, and then wanted the continuation to be welsh and chedar

I heard that they still want to make it but I'm not sure if that's still true.

So how different would things be for Wakfu had the MMO never existed?

Neither would exist.
The show was made to advertise the mmo, and the mmo only exists since the frogs wanted to make their own world of warcraft.

The MMO came first. Dofus, specifically, which still has a strong contingent of loyal autists. Wakfu keeps getting overhauled, so their core userbase is pretty anemic, since oldfags hate having to redo their characters over and over, and newfags are confused that the game keeps changing every few weeks. There's also Krosmaga and Krosmaster, but since those are direct competitive games, it means the autist frogs who have been playing since pre-alpha own the ranked ladder and everyone else gets bored and fucks off after an hour or two.

Krosmaga is actually pretty fun, and I've consistently made it to veteran rank in the first week of every season after my first, having started in season 3.

MIRANDA'S SHIP

I could have sworn that the show came first. Weird.

Nope. Dofus the MMO came first and originally only featured Iops, Srams, and Fecas as the character classes, because the primary foods they were eating were Yop (yogurt), chocolate bars (mars), and Coffee (cafe) going along with the beloved French trend of naming everything possible after some kind of joke, word play, or reference.

Just watched season 1 and 2 with the ovas specials, should i jump to season 3 or watch the other shit first?

The Goultard Episode explains a little bit more of his backstory which you may already know, Kerub's treasures will give you some backstory on Ush and a few of the other little callbacks, and the Ogrest episode will give you his origins.

Watched up to episode 5 of season 1. Looks like a generic adventure-of-the-week kid's show. Is kiddy shit all there is to it or is there going to be a story and character development soon? I don't know anything about it other than that gif with the fucking duck and that there's a game associated with it. Please be gentle, I'm not trying to stir shit up, just want to know if it's worth powering through or if the rest of more of the same.

They get more focused midway through season 1, and most character development happens during season 2.

Well, there is more too it than just kiddy shit but don't expect any high level storytelling. There is world building and character development, but it begins around the middle of season 1 and really gets going in season 2. However, power-creep becomes more of a problem during the OVA's and season 3, so you may or may not like that part. There are overreaching antagonists for each season. Your mileage may very if you like them or not. Overall, this series is about 6/10. It has its interesting moments and characters and is miles better than the dreck that is on tv, but there is still a lot of room for improvement. Also, here is a guide. It is outdated, but is still helpful

Ok thanks, I'll give it a few more episodes then.

The first half of season 1 is a rough ride. The animation is spotty. The stories aren't too great. Nothing is really happening.. then you hit the Boufbowl arc and you get some fucking DBZ soccer action and then it gets MUCH MUCH better from there, and it's a great ride onwards.
