Example 2: Changing statistics
The original plaque at auschwitz-birkenau read "Four million people suffered and died here at the hands of the nazi murderers between the years 1940 and 1945".
Just a quick google search gives an alternate plaque reading "For ever let this place be a cry of despair and a warning to humanity where the nazis murdered about one and a half million men, women, and childern, mainly jews, from various countries of europe 1940-1945"

So how do we go from 4 million jews dying at Auschwitz to 1.5 million "mainly" jews dying, but still retain the 6 million total? How is that supposed to make sense?
