I stopped following him and the comic a few weeks after he announced he was moving to Portland.
This is honestly a pretty horrible feeling. It's like watching the friend who taught you to love possums and shortstacks resort to smoking crack and slowly drift apart until he's gone or dead.

It's not hard to understand, friend. It's just peer pressure. Faggots have the oppression narrative on lockdown, because oppression means you are a special, and if you're special, then you deserve extra attention and people need to go out of their way to cater to you.

This combines well with their assorted other beliefs and theatrics. For instance, the idea that media must contribute to some larger, cultural grand total sum. If you already believe faggots are special and etc, then you likely have some guilt which drives you to feel like it's your duty to do something for them. Nevermind that everyone including the MSM, hollywood, higher education, private businesses, multi-national megacorps, and the average normalfag is already exceedingly generous and eager to glorify the LGBTQIAAPEEPEEPOOPOO contingent… You're an artist and some faggot sent you a message on tumblr saying how much it hurts their feelings that you aren't actively sucking their cock at all times and using your art, your audience and your platform to cater to their feelings.

the problem is, once you go the route Morbi did you write yourself into a corner. I did, after years of trying to git gud I never stopped and asked myself if I enjoyed the process of drawing, plus I was never that happy with the outcomes. Luckily sculpting and CG have become my new creative outlets. When I get the money I also want to try my hand at making puppets as I feel that is an underrated artform.

And I'm afraid I haven't drawn anything like that. These are the most recent things I've drawn in several months.

its not recent the scrub was mentioned last time there was a poppy thread i vaguely recall someone saying he had a meltdown and had his stuff pulled i dunno if he's been put on the DNP list though. Morbi missed his first update on the new format which is impressive when he was talking up how much more passion he'd have for poppy its almost as if he can't be bothered to work on it. im sure the next update will also be delayed.

morbi mentioned on his tumblr that he thinks having site specific fandoms is dumb basically shitting on the people that use Holla Forums to talk about his work while at the same time saying theyt should go to other dedicated sites to talk about poppy. he also complained about how threads devolved into shitposting when the reason it happens is because they become starved of content. It makes no sense that poppy doesn't have a Forum on the main site its a retarded decision honestly.

That's just what happens when you decide gaining popularity is more important than being a fag. At some point every serious artist has to figure out how to bring in the cash and the answer most of them arrive at is joining the lefty clique and getting tons of free publicity and retweets/reblogs in exchange for kissing tranny ass and shitting on the Drumpfman.
Moving to Portland also seems to be the point of no return.

I had a friend who I drew with all the time, we had plans to git gud and make comics together and it was a great time. Then he goes to art school and says he's gonna move to Portland with some friends. Cool, whatever we were online buddies anyway who cares.
Suddenly it turns out his roommates are trannies and genderqueer polyamorous transformers. Time goes on and I find his hidden tumblr full of goatporn and absolutely HEINOUS shit he does for commissions. "Pays the bills" he says.
Soon after he's selling furry models on second life. "You'll understand when you gotta pay rent, user". Then he starts dating one of the trannies, calling it a she, bringing it around and bugging the shit out of everyone.

"It's fine" I think. "I just gotta be open-minded, he ain't hurting anyone by doing a complete 180 on everything he was and liked". Then suddenly he's on HRT and dating a man and going full Tumblr. Completely sold his soul for this shit and he still makes peanuts on art.
After seeing this, I decided to get a blue collar job and just draw in my spare time. Beats becoming whatever the hell you have to become to scrape by on meager popularity like most webcomic guys.
I probably sound bitter, but that guy was my friend. We did a lot together and we had our differences but we could still talk. He was still someone I could understand. Now he's just another twitter tranny sucking dick for rent money while drawing the most debased shit on Earth. How can someone live like that?

Usually someone might only have one or two dedicated shitters that are angry at them over some personal slight. Even something as mild as not doing a fetish picture for them. Or sometimes someone is just seriously irked the wrong way with their work and won't just ignore what they don't like.

The problem with these dedicated trolls is that their criticism is never constructive, they're super loud about it, and are never placated. So legitimate criticism and much needed alternate viewpoints are either drowned out by their noise or ignored in an attempt to keep any sanity or happiness in the artists life. Either way the result is the same, the artist has made an echo chamber for themselves and SJW/Media culture is given the perfect opportunity to thrive. Lulling the artist into a more relaxed state with praise and then offering 'constructive criticism' with small justifications. A gay character would make the story more 'grounded' and so on.

Whatever, he isn't the first and he won't be the last.
