Anime staring Jaden Smith

But it is.

For anyone wondering whether or not you should even bother watching this, let me sum up why you should .

The first three episodes are complete and utter garbage. The dialogue is something out of a bad fanfic, the animation is poor at best and at odd intervals the show tries to emulate other popular anime cinematic styles.

Then something happens. The randomness, where erratic and out of place before, now seems to make sense. The characters that you have come to despise (all of them) suddenly become tolerable. The story, while still a mess, doesn't matter anymore. Something hit me around episode 4.

They figured it out. They watched the episodes they had shit out previously and became self aware. They then insert this self awareness into the show. Episodes 4/5/6 go completely off the rails and becomes enjoyable to watch. I almost felt fooled, like they had planned this from the beginning, but I seriously doubt that. And just when you reach the peak of ridiculousness with the show, it ends, bringing the level of enjoyment back to an even keel.

The show is still garbage, but its garbage that will make you laugh halfway through.

tldr; suffer through episodes 1-3 for context only, then enjoy 4-6 for the hilarity.

...

Impressive how a low-budget western anime is better than 99% of what Japan popped out in the past 10 years.

It's better than 99% of Western cartoons in that time frame, too

Grow up and stop getting fat

This is not anime, this is just westerners trying and failing to parody an artform they cannot understand.

All anime is different as there are multitudes of genres. To say all anime is the same is to say everything in the world is the same.

...

It starts out as shit, it becomes self aware, and becomes trash instead. No one's implying its anything short of mediocre, but I did have some good chuckles.

= 99% of animes

Anime is just Japs trying and failing to emulate an artform they cannot understand.
