Where Dobson is the perfect example of artistic anger, and Jeph-Jacques of artistic laziness, Willis is the direct personification of artistic cowardice.

Willis isn't an artist he's an activist who happens to have a webcomic. It isn't important that the dialogue is natural or even that the jokes can be clearly identified as such. Only that he makes it very clear to all his friends that he has the most kosher opinions.

Thing is, there are tons of webcomic from people like that, and most of them are intensely harmless and boring, bland as fuck and nothing else; Willis manages to make it extremely painful and unbearable to read. Like he wants us to hate the content. He has an actual talent in producing something intensely grating. How does he fucking do it.
Also look at the glasses in . Such glasses are immensely impractical and stupid-looking. Even for useless stuff like that which has no purpose or point he manages to make you wonder why he hates you.

Well that's the thing. The other ones I can bring to mind aren't about the author yelling their moral views at you, they just have that gay shit in them incidentally.

Like, there's one I read where the author absolutely has the kind of faggy views Willis has. She goes down into the comments and argues with people about how they just hate this character because it's a black lesbian. But that's not in the text, you're free to read the comic and draw your own conclusions without a self insert popping in to yell "this is how you should feel" every 5 minutes. That's the difference in writing I think.

Honestly as to his art I think it's not a total shambles. Yeah it's simplistic, samefaced, samebodied, pastel-colored, the physical action is super wooden and often baffling, but there are respects in which it's not technically incompetent and with webcomics you can't take that for granted. The colours aren't generally too garish, for instance. Very few hot shades. The linework's pretty solid. He does backgrounds that aren't all directly perpendicular to field of view, that's nice. Maybe I'm just desperate from all the barely comprehensible sketches most artists put online.
