Yeah that's retarded, but it's still only a possible future. There's a good chance even just the kids' appearance fucked the timeline off-course, so maybe Barry'll still get with Iris.
We also saw Barry and Iris' kids in Flash's own comic a couple issues back.
And these new kids are clearly hiding something.

Time travel makes no sense and DC isn't helping by not setting any rules in on how it works here.
