You have to do it manually with your mouse

firefox addon, it works perfectly, you have to expand all images of the thread before using

If the background is fairly simple, you can use the fuzzy select tool in GIMP to remove a lot, and then erase the rest manually.

Next hit ctrl-s to save the thread on your computer as an html file

All the images will be in a subfolder with the same name as the html file in the same folder as the html file.
