You don't understand how weak gravity is. I know it is customary for ballers to explain everything with gravity but im afraid it can't be used to explain everything when one measures how weak the force is. If you were right and gravity actually held the plane in position it would not be possible to ascend in an airplane holding the same speed as it does when it's level. One would need to apply more force, to counteract the supposed gravity holding it in position.

Think about it. An airliner lifts off at around 150 mph or so. That is when gravity is overcome. When it reaches cruise height it is holding around 570 mph. You are saying that the same force that were overcome at 150 mph are now holding the plane level, even at 570 mph. That gravity is supposed to never completely let go is irrelevant to the argument. The "force" of gravity would be as a little child trying to keep daddy from going to the kindergarten - a neglible force, not at all something that holds the plane in a vice like grip; which is what would be required. There are numerous other problems with this thought too, chief among them that an airliners center of gravity is in front of the wings. If you were right the nose of the plane would be dragged downwards constantly when in level flight and you could not fly as the airliners do now where the nose is tilted upwards.

I should probably mention that the flat earthers don't see gravity as a real force at all - much like modern physics. They explain objects falling down as a result of density - the same reason objects ascend. If the object is denser than the surrounding medium it descends, if it is less dense it ascends…
