You cut 80 off at the top of Donner Pass and US 50 at Lake Tahoe, Sacramento and the bay area are fucked.

Portland is very limited in routes in and out. 84 can be effectively blocked just before the gorge on the eastern end of it. Block off US 26 at Mt Hood, block off US 20 at Santium Pass. They could still access the Columbia River, but thats when you take control of the various dams along the river.

Seattle, Cut off access to 90 by Ellensburg, and US wherever there's a key mountain pass (never gone into Seattle that way)

The major cities on the west coast are very easy to block off. They're all cut off from the east by layer upon layer of mountains.

Out west there are very few choke points to secure due to all the mountains. At least for the roads and most railroads. In the mountains most roads shadow the railroads and both shadow rivers much of the time.
