How the fuck do we seriously combat the Alt-Right? Their sheer cancerous nature actually surprises me that they can get this amount of traction and support. You can't. The ideas and views it expresses are very old and very popular, and it's a movement that is addressing the concerns and grievances of a great many persons. Unless those grievances are properly addressed, the movement will just keep growing, and attacking it will probably just strengthen its resolve.
It must be remembered that it's a reaction to another group/curent: modern, cosmopolitan, indentitarian liberals. That means, you won't be able to do anything about the so-called "alt-right" unless you also do something about the "SJWs" whom they fight and whose actions they feed on; they're symbiotic.

I've been thinking about this and the only viable way I see is to combat the origin of both the alt-right and sjw's. Both ideological currents flow from a postmodernist reinterpretation of culturalism i.e. trying to explain why society is how it is by analyzing culture, and then proceed to attempt to change society by changing culture.
The problem is that this approach is likely to lead to antagonisms among the people that have nothing to do with the relations of production, with the material world, the way forward is to show people that if they want to improve their lot in life how they do it is by resisting expĺoitation, wage slavery etc. by fighting for socialism. This is the challenge the left faces today, how do you show this to the masses? Every approach that's been tried has failed, and ironically led to the current culturalist impasse (think Frankfurt School, the French '68, hippies and so on) So sadly I don't have an answer, but whoever solves this riddle solves the "riddle of history"
